Wanted breakfast but didn't want the hotel. Looked for a nearby spot and went in a terrible storm. Coffee was great, food was spot on, and our family of five didn't feel the dumb tourist prices like we would have at the hotel restaurant. Oh, and the food was 10x better than where we were staying. Cute little cafe with good breakfast. They have bar seating along with booths and tables. Service is really good, food was good and the atmosphere is nice. This is my second visit. My first time was in 2016 before I was serious about reviews. Both experiences were good. Today I had the Hungry Native: eggs your way, bacon, ham or sausage, one pancake and choice of toast, grits or hash browns. I substituted the latter for an extra protein. The breakfast was great! My scrambled eggs were super fresh, bacon was crispy, the sausage patties were perfect and the pancake was fluffy they syrup tasted like it had a hint of berries. Unconfirmed, but very good. $20.08 without tip and I had leftovers to take back to the condo. read more

Great place for brunch and a latte. Service was on point and the place was so clean and fresh.

I thought this place was pretty good. I didn't get anything outrageous. Just some pancakes for my daughter. And I ordered the food to go. So taking into account the drive and everything I think about this place is pretty good. The kids pancakes were a lot bigger and I expected which was great. I got a side of bacon with them to accompany the potatoes. Now I'm more of a crunchy potato person and these were a little bit too soft for me but my daughter seem to like them. The pancakes were super fluffy and tasted great. I was really impressed, especially since I had to drive back to the condo and was expecting them to be a little bit soggy because of the drive. And they weren't! I also got an iced coffee and a regular coffee. The iced coffee. I got a flavor in it and it was mostly okay. Nothing bad. Nothing over the moon about pretty standard. And same goes for the regular drip coffee. Pretty standard as far as coffee goes. Next time we come here I would like to sit and eat in the cafe. The food looked pretty good from the menu and I would like to try some more things. read more

Usually when my friends and I make our annual October Pensacola Beach trip we only eat out at dinner or lunch. This year my friend decided she had a hankering for pancakes. Cue me looking in Yelp for a local place to hit up. We rolled in about 830 am on Friday morning and were lucky enough to be seated right away. The place is bright, clean and cozy. Coffee was solid. Menu had a nice selection of breakfast items. I elected for the crabcake bennies with a generous helping of the house hot sauce on my potatoes (watch out tabasco!) and my friend was able to satisfy her pancake want. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area. read more

This place is an over priced tourist trap. We paid 60 $ for four eggs. A cup of beans, a bowl of grits. Two table spoons of salsa and a half cup of beans. The tortillas were straight out of the package =cold. We thought we'd try local instead of hotel breakfast and we REGRET it. The Hilton has an excellent AYCE buffet for 24 $ PP with beverages and the food is 100 times better than Native cafe. They are obviously charging their customers to pay for their expanded space. Such shame to leave this place hungry and feeling ripped off! read more

We travel to Pensacola every year for my birthday celebration. This is the first time I've been to the Native Cafe. I learned about this place from a post on Facebook. We arrived to our hotel before we were able to check in so decided to go get breakfast. I ordered the stuffed French toast and a spicy Bloody Mary. I was very pleased with the service and the atmosphere was exciting and very colorful. We plan on eating here again while we're here in Pensacola. read more

Place is a "go-to" if I must say so myself. Years back, when we asked for a more "regular type place" we were enthusiastically recommended to visit Native Cafe. Ever since, havent stopped making this our breakfast stop. First time customer, recommend by some locals. It was a Friday at 9a, wait was 50 mins - ended up being closer to an hour. Now with a wait like that, it intrigued me so I did it. The staff was friendly and they were quick about seating you but it's a SMALL place so there is only so much they can do make your wait less. I had their favorite Crab Benedict and it was really good, I wouldn't say worth the hour wait tho. By 11a when were finally done eating to head out, there was no wait. So def worth checking out but would come at a slower time. They do serve mimosas and Bloodys - delicious! I ate here later in the day and almost skipped it because they close at 3 pm. Glad I didn't. Immediate eating. Small coastal diner on Pensacola beach that is just east of the main part of the strip. Surrounded by other eateries, there is plenty of competion and Native Cafe is a clear favorite. Since I was only going to visit once, I went with the Yelper favorite of crab cake benedict. Yup, you gotta have it. The crab cakes themselves are worth it but with the poached eggs and english muffin, it is a must have. After such a great breakfast for lunch, I glanced at their specials board and saw Cioppino. Couldn't pass up a bowl to go for dinner. I prefer a thinner broth but it was vary good with plenty of mussels and fish/shrimp bites. Used my bread to mop up every bite. read more

I'm not sure how this place has such good reviews.. the service was not good - our waiter was rude and not attentive (this was during prime brunch time, but they were not very busy). He disappeared for a long time and another waiter had to go get him. We waited 45 minutes for our food, after he took our order. My omelet was good but my husband's breakfast burrito was bland. read more

Best BLT I have ever had! The seating was a bit tight but we were serviced quickly and nicely. Love that it is right near the beach so after lunch we could just head straight over. Less than a 5 minute walk across the street from our condo! Very nice grits! DH had them with his shrimp and grits... nice! I had them with my scrambled eggs, tortillas and salsa. Nicely done eggs and again great grits. Nothing special here except great breakfast food. They had Eggs Benedicts on the menu but didn't try as well as a few kinds of salads, sandwiches and burgers. Prices are standard shocking but sort of what is now the norm. I still can't seem to believe a simple cafe lunch for 2 with ice teas costing $43! Oh well read more

Visited this place on vacation with my wife. Our friends from the area suggested it, and we were so glad that we decided to check it out. They were very busy, but super friendly and you could tell they were on top of their game. The food was delicious and the pictures just don't do it justice. Working in food industry and understanding we are on an island, I expected higher prices here. However, I didn't expect one egg to coat over $4. After being told I couldn't substitute the pancake for one French tst I ordered the French tst and wanted to add an egg but for $4.+, I decided the 2 prices of French tst and the 1/4 cup of homefries would do. That with a water cost me $18. Not coffee, no OJ and no milk, I had water. My father ordered 2 eggs over medium, he got a 1/4 cup of potatoes and 1 slice of tst cut in half to look like 2. His bills was $15. 4 of us ate, pretty sure the 4 if us shared a potatoes and the bill was around $75 for breakfast. 2 waters and 2 cups of coffee. Simple small portioned breakfast that was average tasting at best but cost like I was eating at Gordon Ramseys. To tip it off our waiter was an ass. Never left a bad tip anywhere but did here. My partner and I used to come here years ago and it was our favorite spot.. we moved away and then back a month ago - took her to Native for nostalgic reasons on her birthday, June 3rd - terrible. Server was nothing short of frazzled - she couldn't answer our questions and when we asked for syrup, she brought us a sugar-free bottle of knock-off syrup from the grocery store. Doesn't get cheaper than that. And yes, it was still in the store-bought bottle, all sticky on the outside too. On top of this, my shrimp and grits tasted like... well, horrible. No flavor whatsoever, shrimp far from fresh, and to top it off they were out of hot sauce. Unfortunately not a single thing was right, and when I asked the gentleman server if something had changed over the years, his answer was short and unsatisfying. Idk what happened, this place used to be awesome. Maybe the remodel ruined it. 10/10 do not recommend. read more

The natives love it..it's the only gig in town if your craving breakfast. They have a good marketing campaign in town, because it was a checkmark to visit from some locals. I really didn't see what was so special about it. The food was decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, if that makes sense. I had a standard pancake, eggs, and coffee breakfast. It definitely serves a need on that side of town, since no other breakfast joints seem to be open. read more

We were there on a Sunday morning, fortunately we got seated right away even though they were busy. Service was spotty at best. My drink was made and sitting at the bar waiting to be delivered until I pointed it out to the server, my wife's coffee was never refilled. I liked what I had to eat but we both had eggs in our meal which we ordered over hard and they were both still runny. We did mention to server. We will probably go back as I liked the menu options.
