Understood it has been sold and new owner.we went for Mother's Day very pleased with Jennifer Desk who got us in in five minutes Jenifer was our waitress could not have asked for more pleasant waitress. several points so it took 40 minutes for our meal to get there and we saw people from church who was standing in line with us then got seated, then ordered then and left. The 2 steak specialthat arrived was inedible, companion said, wonderful, scrambled eggs, bacon, slightly burnt, and Canadian bacon dish was great With the new ownership, the quality of this particular dish is disgusting. I would not recommend Scenic 90 to any of my friends. What a cool place! Total 50's - 60's vibe... when we entered we were greeted and seated immediately. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and efficient. The menu has a vast array of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The awesome thing is that you can order whatever you want whenever you want. The food was really good, as was the service. Food and service were excellent! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I LOVED my lox plate. It was all very fresh and well done. The portion was huge. I had enough for a whole other meal. Really REALLY wanted to like this place, and I am usually willing to give a spot a second chance. Got seated, and placed our order...35 mins for our food to come out. We ordered the salmon omelet and potatoes, French toast, bacon, cheese curds, and grits, and buttered noodles. The omelet was dry (I mean like dry and cardboard like). The smoked salmon was in a word, horrible as it seemed to sit on the griddle way too long. The feta was a weird texture, so the omelet was a complete fail. The French toast was soggy and tasted as if it had seasoned salt on it. Bacon was good, cheese curds were just ok (not crispy). The buttered noodles were served in a dirty bowl (inside and out as if it hadn't been washed). The grits were beyond bad. We are not ones for sending food back, so we just paid the check and bounced. Ate here today with my sister and there was mold on our blueberry cobbler. I informed the waitress and she said it was just the "blueberries".. Looking back at the picture it was clearly mold and we really regret believing the waitress and eating it. I was super excited too to try this place after family recommended it.. Checked out Scenic 90s Cafe on the 4th of July for breakfast. Visiting from Nola and researched a few breakfast spots off the beaten path. I really try to find true local spots that make the trip memorable. This place is so dang cute! Traditional old diner booths and counter seating had me reminiscing about the "good ole days". Unfortunately, the breakfast wasn't worth the visit. We were so disappointed. I am a simple gal, especially with breakfast, so I didn't expect some gourmet meal. The hashbrowns tasted as if they were freezer burnt and they were cold. Scrambled eggs were ok but the sausage was tasty. Definitely tasted like standard buffet sausage but it was still not bad. Toast was bread (barely toasted) and the pancake we ordered didn't have any flare. My husband had the breakfast burrito and wasn't happy with it either. We tried Coffee Cup Restaurant down the street from here a day later and were thoroughly impressed. Scenic 90 Cafe is just a bit out of the way from downtown to get us to return. Had a delicious Sunday meal . I ordered breakfast with extra bacon and my friend ordered the seafood casserole With peas and onion rings. When we found out the power was made fresh daily we also ordered a slice of pie for dessert I got the coconut cream and she got the chocolate cream pie we both agree the coconut cream was the best. If you have a chance to select which side of the dining area you sit on it seem to be a lot cooler on this hot June day on the right hand side when we got up to walk over to the restroom towards the left it was noticeably warmer on that side of the building. Would like to go back and order more items a great dining experience - parking is a challenge with limited spaces so keep that in mind. read more

Scenic 90, my daughters and I have been going for years. We are vegetarians and these are our favorites: ANY of the breakfast, which you can get anytime. The vegan meatloaf (AMAZING) with vegan mashed potatoes. The fried green tomato sandwich. The Greek salad. Any of the desserts! My favorite is the chocolate banana milkshake. They make these huge shakes and bring you the extra in the metal cup it's made in! Great friendly service every single time. I remember Scenic 90 Cafe being better when I lived here when I was younger. Something about the diner and the food was really appealing. Now that other new Pensacola gems have popped up with great breakfast, I feel like 90 can't compete. I know they are always busy and I'm sure their lunch and dinner is better then their breakfast, but I wasn't impressed with the Meat Lovers Omelette I ordered. The meat was overly smoky and wasn't as savory as I was hoping for, the egg was dry, ended up having leftovers, good portion but just not all that tasty. Mom ordered the quiche which was crustless but didn't look very appealing (low key burnt on the top), had asparagus and some other kind of cheese, it was just OK. I will probably come back because they have good prices and their pancakes look yummy. Will give it another shot with breakfast and will update, maybe! read more

Nice little diner spot with great daily specials. They serve breakfast all day. The food was good. The fried pickles and zucchini were my favs especially with the parm ranch dipping sauce. I also got the pecan cream cheese pie which was a pretty cool spin on a pecan pie. The service was great. The waiter was pretty attentive and was able to explain the menu and make recommendations to us. Oh let's not forget the have some of the best hand spun milkshakes here! Horrors!! This cafe served my sister rotten portobella mushrooms in her $16 egg scramble. Not just slightly off but garbage dumpster worthy rotten mushrooms. I tasted a tiny bit and immediately spit it out. And they didn't even comp her meal! They remade her egg scramble which did not feature rotten mushrooms and tasted ok. The tepid potatos and onions had died long ago in the steam table (which I don't think was working to keep anything hot), D- to begin with and I think they just slid them from the rotten mushroom scramble plate to the remade scramble plate. My veggie omelette was ok... nothing special, same rating on the biscuit and pepper gravy. Their coffee was good. From the view point of a Culinary Institute of America grad (me), the meal was less than stellar. Obvious quality control issues and they should probably start dating the ingredients in the kitchen. If food looks like it was served yesterday...It is Not good enough for paying customers today! We will not be returning to this establishment for obvious reasons. Our server was pretty good. Our family of 5 ordered: Savannah pasta which was very good, fried okra was good and crispy,carrots which were okay. Philly was good and kids ordered pancakes which were large : Good, Chicken fingers and fries hot and fresh and good, and Classic burger which my son said was very good with delicious Mac and cheese. We all got desert as well and appetizer of mozzarella sticks. Ice cream the kids enjoyed, banana pudding was very good, and coconut pie was delicious. My husband ordered bread pudding which he enjoyed as well but it was in a square vs broken up which he did not prefer as well. Overall, very good and great service and variety. We like to visit our local restaurants but sadly, some are better than others. Scenic 90 Cafe is the bottom of the barrel. July 26, 2023, we arrived a little after 10:30am. Seated quickly, a waitress came over, asked what we would like to drink and left for nearly 15 minutes. When she returned, she apologized for the wait and took our order. We waited and waited. Finally my wife says she needs to go to the restroom. She returned but we still waited. Breakfast arrived after a 40 minute wait. My waffle was cold. In a while, the waitress returned. When I complained my waffle was cold, she put her hand on it and stated it was not cold and walked away. Later, my wife told me she was in the bathroom with the waitress and she did not wash her hands when she left. My waffle was taken off the bill which now totaled $32.74. Tip was zero. As I complained to the manager, I watched our waitress duck out the back door; the manager begged us to come back again. Checked my credit card, charge showed up as $39.29; someone added an unauthorized 20% tip; the written receipt was no tip. Reviewers tend to be very critical but not in this case. We have recently been to this restaurant three times. Each time was worse until this fiasco. read more

I was driving around looking for a gas station in the evening when I happened upon this brightly lighted neon restaurant on the roadside of Old Highway 90. I took a chance at what the menu may offer at a diner, actually hungry for BLT, but when I sat down in the old-fashioned nostalgic table soft booth near the window, I had a sudden hankering for Chicken & Dumplings with two sides, Fresh Salad,and Corn Bread for just $9.99. Needless to say, this home-cooked meal was good and wholesome. I had a glass of iced water with fresh lemon wedge. My waitress attended me with a smile and welcoming personality, very much needed after being at the hospital all day long. My only suggestion is put more chicken in the dumplings read more

We both think they Actually rate 4.5 stars 1st time trying this little cafe modeled somewhat after the old diners up north. We both ended up with the fish and chips. I had red beans/rice and the fried zucchini as sides. She had the Mac/cheese and hush puppies. The meal also came with a corn muffin. The fish came out as several chunks of fried fish that we both agreed was very good. Seemed like it was an Atlantic mild white fish of some sort...maybe cod, Tilapia, or haddock. The tarter sauce is incredible and made in house by someone who knows what they are doing. The fries were as expected, although they really should watch the portion consistency. One plate had easily double the fries than the other. We didn't care personally, we certainly had enough food in either platter. It's an optics thing though and some people may care more. The red beans and rice is absolutely perfectly executed. Just the right amount of kick that complimented the not too forward, yet not subtle, Smokey ham flavor. The fried zucchini was salted correctly and the mottled batter good without overpowering the zucchini. Her Mac and cheese was very good. Creamy, cheesy, well cooked noodles. It is "Americanized" but that is not necessarily a bad thing. You get that great creaminess and classic American flavor in the cheese sauce most of us still love. The hush puppies were excellent. The simple addition of red and green mild peppers to a great batter lends a balance to what are normally too sweet at other places. I saved the most controversial for the last. You know when you go someplace (especially in the south) and they bring out corn bread or muffins....your probably thinking "oh boy, here comes that super sweet baked corn batter i really don't need but it's sooooo good and lusciously sweet. It's usually as sweet as southern tea, but it's warm and you can put butter on it!! Well; these are not them . Oh don't get me wrong, they are incredible. You know that Smokey, sweet, rich, umami ham flavor in the red beans and rice? Well that is what is in the corn muffins also. And it works!! It works reeeaallly well. At first I almost laughed. I almost got offended. Someone knows how good it is in other savory dishes and so they went overboard, entirely too far and put it in my sweet corn bread muffins! But alas...I couldn't be upset with them. It was just that good. Many people think something as simple as corn muffins or even the tartar sauce is easy to do correctly? Not. It takes skill to integrate proper flavors in a baked good or sauce. ( I bet their remoulade is the shit ). I promise you; "there ain't no amateurs in that kitchen". So happy we found this place. The shiny diner as we call it is under new management and it is definitely better. The atmosphere is clean and the background music is nice. My wife wanted to go to try their new gluten free waffles for dinner and was very pleased. I had their Crayfish Savanna and I was impressed. I didn't expect a dish that good. The entree came with soup or salad and I had the cheddar soup which was nice and smooth with little bits of ham and veggies. It also came with two sides and the sweet potato was perfect.
