I try to catch him to see what he speed was, and he was doing mph. The speed limit on El Mirage Rd is 60. As he approached the t-intersection that takes you back to Lake LA or the Gray Butte facility, this driver flat out runs the stop sign, barely slown down enough to make the turn. Friggin ridiculous! This is how you take care of an 82 hope I never need to rely on their service. Specially, the dispatcher and the driver didn't even have the courtesy to call and let him know they were not coming. And I really do not believe when he was telling me about ruining the vehicle on pictures on the website show they have huge tow trucks and there's no reason they should not be able to drive up a dirt road truly truly unacceptable and quite disgusting when an elderly man is unable to help himself and needed help with the jump. He knew exactly where I was stuck and how to get there quickly, and was familiar with the shop I wanted to get towed to. We thought we were well-covered with USAA Roadside Assistance, but after multiple delays from their contracted vendor (Agero) and over 2 hours of waiting, we took the matter into our own hands and reached out to Doug at AA Tech. He was there within minutes, got our spare tire on and proceeded with finding and installing a new full-sized tire. He was both professional and personable. We were on our way home within an hour. Every mechanic said it wouldn't be smart to just repair the head gasket, that it will be back in the shop sooner then later. They told me these engines run any where from 1800 to 2500. Also that labor will be anywhere from 1200-3000. I called about 4 places and verified this was all accurate. I was gonna give up on it and get rid of it , but a failed attempt at a car dealer mad me re evaluate the situation. I started researching and read a few forums also confirming everything I've learned about the situation, felt like I was getting no where till the last response I read. There was a link to carparts.com where they said It was possible to find a engine for under 2000. I gave it a try and to my surprise it was true. I found a engine from 5 star dismantling for 1500 with only 61k miles . I dealt with Albert and he was a tremendous help and also a pleasure to deal with. He had all the answers and educated me on the process. Albert has great customer service kills, thank you very much for your time and help. My mechanic charged under 1000 as well so around 2500 got the work slave back up and running. I would highly recommend 5 star dismantling to all my friends and family. Same goes for my mechanic .
