From the moment I reached out to Pat, we connected right away. He is incredibly knowledgeable about landscape design, layout, and all things plants. He really helped us see what was possible. Pat then introduced us to Ricardo, who is the expert in hardscape, mechanical work, and overall execution. Ricardo and his team worked tirelessly to demo our backyard. Once it was cleared, we finally saw how much usable space we truly had -- and we even uncovered a view! We were so pleased with the entire process -- from design to execution -- and absolutely love the end result. Working with Pat and Ricardo was seamless, professional, and collaborative. Gabriel created a backyard design rendering that was spot on to what we were looking for (we previously met with a different designer from another company and their design was not as good). They have relationships with other professionals (pergola installers, landscapers), which helped bring the backyard design to life.

From the initial meeting until the very end, he showed so much care in the process, was very straightforward and transparent and most importantly honest. He's condescending and impatient…read more I sent out a request for quotes on 3,000 sqft of pavers on Yelp, asking for a rough estimate per sq.ft. I didn't respond for a day, maybe 2, and I received a few text messages at the rate spammers do and a few phone calls. We've never talked outside of the messages attached. All I said was I received a quote for $14/sqft from a person that actually saw the job site. He goes to berate and be condescending to others because their price is low so he assumes it's not possible to offer quality, when he has no idea about the other company. He's greedy because he thinks he's the only paver guy in the game. Hah! His tactic takes advantage of unaware home owners but if you're informed and have already gotten 3 quotes with a wide range and know exactly what I'm wanting, I and others must not know and what we're doing, only he does. If anyone is interested, message me and I'll give you the breakdown of how I was able to get $14 and the exact contract structure with Belgrade pavers + speciality large format Belgrade stones. For him to just quote $18/sqft, never seeing the condition that may require so much less work, and be defensive about my response just goes to show you the attitude you'll receive if you work with him. Response: It may not make sense to you but it makes sense to me to leave a response because of your condescending comment and feedback. Many people start off at $18 and then somehow dropped to $11 after looking at the project. Hhhmmm A professional response could have been: "That's lower than I can do. Thank you for reaching out though." It's the condescension that I'd like to warn readers about.

4 stars for quality work. 0 stars for ethical business…read morepractices I hired Melvin and George from La Económica Landscaping after receiving a written estimate from their coordinator, Cindy, for work that included: * Garden clean-up & hauling - $1,375 * Mulch + small brick installation (combined) - $650 Total: $2,025 And a recurring monthly maintenance fee at $200 The crew did a nice job with the clean-up. Their labor and craftsmanship were good. However, the way this business operates is extremely concerning. Even though the scope was clearly defined both verbally and in writing, the owner later tried to change the terms of the estimate, claiming parts of the agreed-upon work were "mistakenly included." Throughout the process, there were multiple "gotcha" moments, surprise clarifications, shifting explanations, and attempts to downplay what was originally promised. Despite the written estimate explicitly listing a "mulch + small brick installation (combined)", the brick installation was never completed. When I followed up, they claimed it had been a "mistake" in the estimate and refused to honor that part of the agreement. Communication became defensive, taunting, and unprofessional, and rather than resolve the situation collaboratively, the owner sent a $300 refund before we had even reached an agreement, then canceled my ongoing maintenance service altogether. It's disappointing, because the work quality itself was solid. But their business ethics and communication practices are sketchy. They seem more focused on short-term profit than building long-term relationships or standing by their written commitments. They told me the brick feature would enhance the look of my garden. I guess I'll never find out. If you decide to hire them, make sure every detail is documented and signed. Otherwise, expect last-minute changes and confusion about what you actually paid for.

We just finished a very large and very long project with K&B. I'm thrilled with how our backyard…read moreturned out. We live on a hill, so we had a lot of dirt moved and walls adjusted to give us some more flat areas. This also required permitting with the city because of the height of the walls and slope they are holding up. K&B handled all the permitting part, so I didn't have to deal with the city. I love the look of our new stone walls and trex decking. Our project ended up taking a year to complete (not counting the months of planning and permit work before the project started). K&B held to the pricing of the initial quote even though there were so many delays (due to city permitting) and costs had definitely gone up from what the initial quote was. The crews at my house were very respectful and clean. I feel like it's a very high quality job. The carpenter who did the deck is a true craftsman and gave suggestions on tweaks to really make the look amazing. The stone was all placed individually and the caps are smooth and together to form a great ledge. I would definitely recommend K&B for any future landscape projects.

I was extremely impressed and appreciative with how honest and straightforward he was with the details of what we wanted to accomplish and the prices we were looking at. After these conversations with Allen, we chose K&B because we felt like we were getting the highest quality work within the budget range we had in mind. We had a flexible budget and I appreciated that Allen didn't try to upsell me on things that I didn't need. He took exactly what we wanted to accomplish and made some very helpful suggestions using the perspective of his experience. Once we chose K&B for our project, I was extremely impressed with the feeling of "all hands on deck" that they provided. Michael personally managed our project and was here every day to ensure it was progressing to our satisfaction. I was very specific about a lot of the details of how I wanted our yard to turn out, and at every turn, Michael and his team's attitude was "we can make it happen." Michael is truly a master of his craft and provided more additional guidance for how to make our vision come to life. He also helped us choose many beautiful varieties of plants to suit our taste. While the job was underway, the work crews of anywhere between 3 and about 7 guys showed up every day, on time, and were very approachable about things I wanted do discuss or questions I had. I would not consider myself "low maintenance" and I was always met with positivity and a "can do" attitude. Now that the job is finished, Michael has walked me through maintenance of our yard and how to keep it looking fresh, heathy, and the plants growing beautifully. It is clear that they are not the "cut and run" type. They are enthusiastic about maintaining a relationship should there be anything I need or questions I have in the future. If you couldn't tell already, I can't say enough about this company. I am so glad we chose them to do our work. We are going to be enjoying this space for the long haul. I have already referred them to family and friends. Thanks guys!
