I've been going to Nara Thai for about five years now. Their Pad Thai is THE BEST I have ever had. It has a succulent sauce that is to die for! The noodles are always cooked to perfection and the meat options are always delicious. The service is usually pretty good, but sometimes they have been a bit off key. This is a nice little break from the usual crappy tex-mex chains in the area! I tried to red curry chicken and my husband had the pad thai. Both meals were just wonderful and left us craving them for days after. Service was a little lacking, but we were there right as they opened for lunch, so maybe that was part of the problem. My friend came to visit for the weekend and we were searching for something different without having to drive into the city. We googled Thai cuisines in the area and Nara was a pleasant surprise! It is tucked away in the small plaza. What a great find. Upon entering we were greeted to soft music being played...so the ambiance was nice. The appetizers (spring rolls and crab angles) were fresh and delicious. We ordered the anothai fried rice (w/ shrimp and scallops) and the veggie delight (w/shrimp). The food was cooked to perfection! Oh, and the portions were very large. I could not have asked for better food and service. My experience was delightful. Probably the best Thai food I've had in Texas. My mother and I had lunch there this afternoon. We had the chicken satay, fried spring rolls, chicken larb salad, chicken pad thai, and the chicken curry. Everything was perfect. The satay was perfectly cooked chicken breast with the tastiest peanut sauce which was rich and well complex. The curry sauce was very mild and delicate with a nice coconut milk flavor that blended perfectly with the curry flavor. I also had a thai tea and it was perfect. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend Nara Thai! read more

Neighborhood gem! We recently moved from the Heights and have struggled to find a non chain restaurant that we enjoyed. Love the atmosphere and options at Nara Thai. I personally enjoy the pad Kar pow (house speciality). The panang curry is also very good. Will definitely frequent this location again. read more

Spicy basil fried rice with chicken and green curry with chicken I ordered as a take way for my husband and I. We ordered both with a medium heat and the heat level is spot on. Taste wise both are really good and we will definitely be back. My food was delivered quickly, but that was during a short dip in traffic (lucky me). 4 stars because I tried the phad thai before and I did not fancy it as I do other phad thai's. Food is very good. My favorite Thai restaurant in Humble. While the staff is friendly, the service can be frustratingly slow at times. Hence it is not five stars. Post the expansion, the lighting and layout makes me feel like I am eating in a cafeteria. So we do take out more now. read more

Been here a handful of times. It's usually okay, but yesterday my friend and I both got sick from something we ate. I had the massaman curry and he had the papaya salad and some other kind of salad. We didn't share food, so it was something in multiple dishes. Admittedly, we took it to go right before they closed, but that doesn't excuse food poisoning. Kinda hesitant to go back now. read more

This was my first ever attempt at Thai food and I would have to say I was very pleased. Our table had the sample platter for an appetizer and it was very good. For dinner we had the volcano shrimp, poor mans noodles, and cashew chicken. All three dishes were delicious. I'm sure this was Americanized Thai food but it was very good!! read more

I cannot stand too much noise in public places and chose to go to this restaurant at random. It was a really nice surprise! The environment was warm and I had a warmer welcome by the hostess. This place was our fav place to go. The owner was there and I ordered the larb gai. I have ordered it twice. When I tried it, the lettuce tasted very acid, but I thought it could've been the lime. When I was in my second bite, I noticed that the lettuce was full of small insects. It totally grossed me out. I asked for a plate so I could move the meat, they came by and asked if there was something wrong, I told them that the lettuce had bugs, she went back and came back with some lettuce! You are supposed to pick up the plate and offer something else, but nope . The owner was there, the lady was talking in their language and looking and laughing at me. Maybe they didn't like the idea that I said there were bugs. She left laughing! How I know she was the owner, ???Well the waiter said that she was! At the end they gave me the check and they still charged me for the larb gai. Disturbing! I'm not going there anymore! Keep an eye to what you eat, you might find a bug too! read more

I am sitting in this restaurant as I'm writing this waiting for my food that I have been waiting on now for over 45 min. Finally I decided to ask the waitress, who has not been by once while I have been waiting, how long it will be before I receive my food. I completely understand an off night in the kitchen that would back things up but I do not understand the horrible service given in response to the situation. Both waitresses have been standing at the front counter twiddling their thumbs while everyone at their tables is anxiously waiting on their food. Not one "I'm sorry for the wait" or "can I get you anything while you wait?", nothing. Pure rudeness. When asked what is going on and where the orders are they pacify you walk swiftly away. Haven't tried the food yet besides the dumplings which were so so but I wouldn't not come back simply because the service of the waitstaff is so horrible. At least acknowledge a miss coming and try to accommodate your guests as best you can, not force them to ask for everything. read more

Good food....but the service is lacking when they are busy. When they get busy, they have no clue on what to do or how to take care of their customers. They do not have a hostess to seat anyone and you might not get acknowledged or see your server for 10-15 minutes, and you might wait an hour for food.
