I was on my way home and stumbled across my favorite- Nara Thai. I came when their AC wasn't working but that didn't stop me from dining in. They had lots of heaters around and I sat at the bar. I ordered my usual Pad Kee Mao anf added Mock Duck this time. For dessert- you have to try the mango sticky rice. They made theirs with perfection. The server was so nice and efficient.

Don't let the location dissuade you. The food was delicious! Service was very friendly too.

Love this place and always come and dine in but for some reason the only time I ordered for pick up the lady was unable to understand us and when we specifically explained what we wanted and ordered they still gave us the wrong thing. Apparently there is two types of pad kra pow so that was their excuse for giving us the wrong food even tho we specifically described the ground chicken with the egg.

It's been a while i haven't been back in here. The food is still good, The flavor is great and the service crew is very friendly. I love the flavor of the duck in red curry and sweet and sour chicken as well as the tom yum soup. The only complaint i have is the amount of meat on the red curry and tom yum soup needs to be more. As well as the sticky Rice in the mango sticky rice.

Tom Kha soup, add basil and cilantro.

The Thai tea was flavoured nice, not too sweet. The pad kee mao was my first time getting it with tofu, and it was super yummy. Compliments to the chef, even though I like the bigger square flat noodles, they did a very good job with this longer thinner needle. This is the best pad kee mao in all of Spring, and I venture Houston. I will be ordering tofu rather than meat more often. The noodles were done to perfection, super flavourful. They don't have mint, and to me mint is best in the Tom kha soup, but that's okay, I'll add some when I get home. Other than that, the Tom kha came out good, very flavourful, nice and thick, and also with tofu. I will definitely be bringing my husband to dine here with me next time!

Food is good, but skimp-flation is STRONG. I ordered a $17 "Family Size" soup ($24 with added shrimp and chicken). It is literally ONE BOWL of soup.

This was our first time at Nara Thai. Everything (and everyone) was amazing! Our server DQ was so friendly and attentive. He gave us great recommendations and always made sure we were good throughout our meal. Every dish we ordered was delicious. We got Pad Kra Pow, Shrimp Panang Curry, and the Home style Pad Kra Pow chicken. Everything was so flavorful and perfectly seasoned. You get to choose your own level of spiciness and protein/veggies. We loved the customizability! Also, the mango sticky rice is a must for the perfect dessert/ ending. Yum!! This is definitely a mom-and-pop shop vibe restaurant. It was cozy, but also big enough to fit a few large parties. We really enjoyed our dinner here and would definitely be back!

Delicious food. Great service. Comfort food. All protein options. All natural juices. Atmosphere is mid.

I go here on a regular basis. The service is pretty nondescript. I'm always a fan of crayons and paper to entertain myself while I wait. It's actually a pretty nice atmosphere for a strip mall. I love curry, and they do a great job. My one complaint would be the potatoes in the yellow curry. The potatoes are usually my favorite part, but here they're usually pretty uncooked. Good flavor, but definitely lacking in texture. All around, pretty good for Thai if you're in the area.

    Pad Thai with vegetables

I ordered my meal specifically mentioned NO SPROUTS OR VEGGIES. My order arrived with veggies mixed in it. Sure, I can pick it out but the restaurant DID NOT follow instructions at all. Plain and simple.

Pad See Eue is my favorite! Love coming here. Will definitely be back

My waitress (Sam) was excellent. She was very polite and explained everything I asked about. Will definitely be back

I got lots of love for Nara Thai! Their food is so flavorful and comes out nice and hot. Their spicy levels are great. Lunch specials till 3pm. So glad it's close to home. Service is always quick and nice. So glad I found this place.

    Green curry with chicken

I've gotten the green curry both times and the shrimp spring roll with peanut sauce. It's all been delicious! The green curry is to die for with the Chinese eggplant. So so delicious!

I've only got to-go from here once, and from what I remember, the wait wasn't too bad. The parking is quite difficult since the lot is so small. To share, we got an order of crispy veggie spring rolls and a bowl of tom kha with chicken. Both always hit the spot. Some Thai spots make tom kha too salty but I think this one is seasoned well. I ordered it with beef, and the beef was very tender and not dry at all. Furthermore, the overall dish has the wok hay flavor and was one of my favorite pad see ews I've ever had. Thai Iced Tea - it was your average thai iced tea where it wasn't mixed at first(which I think is a sign of authenticity!) and sweet at the perfect level with condensed milk. What makes this a four star was that the service was a little iffy in my opinion. Even though we were in a large group which makes it harder for waiters to order, the waiter stared at one of my friends and started mumbling despite him already ordering which made it pretty awkward.

It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. Cleanliness - dining area is clean. The waitstaff keeps this place in tip top shape. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. The Tom Kha had a lighter, more watery base than the rich coconut flavor I'm used to. I know this can vary by region, so it wasn't bad, just not my personal preference...The cream cheese crab wontons were decent and nicely presented. They also served a complimentary appetizer, which was a fun surprise, a taco shaped fried wonton wrapper filled with cabbage and their house dressing...Overall, if you're looking for a quick Thai bite with excellent service, this place works. I'm giving it 3.5 out of 5 not because it's bad, but because the flavors didn't quite match what I personally look for. For what it is, it's solid. -- Pilgrim Sojourner

For drinks, I got the Mekhong Mojito and it was sweet and refreshing! For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! With dedicated parking that fills up quick during peak times, it may be difficult to locate parking as it is shared with a few other restaurants and the spaces are quite tight. We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
