I was going to try this place, so I started putting in my order to pick up for me and my staff. So far, the prices look fair, and the food looks good. However, when I am about to check out, it asks me to leave a tip for the staff and you HAVE to select a percentage, so I just canceled my order. Why would I leave a tip for people to prepare my order, aren't they being paid to do so? Plus, I am PICKING up my order, why dont you (Nara Thai) just jack up the price 10% on your menu and give the 10% to your employees at the end of the day... just a thought. I was on my way home and stumbled across my favorite- Nara Thai. I came when their AC wasn't working but that didn't stop me from dining in. They had lots of heaters around and I sat at the bar. The Thai tea was flavoured nice, not too sweet. The pad kee mao was my first time getting it with tofu, and it was super yummy. Compliments to the chef, even though I like the bigger square flat noodles, they did a very good job with this longer thinner needle. This is the best pad kee mao in all of Spring, and I venture Houston. I will be ordering tofu rather than meat more often. The noodles were done to perfection, super flavourful. They don't have mint, and to me mint is best in the Tom kha soup, but that's okay, I'll add some when I get home. The food was amazing. We ordered chicken pad thai and beef panang curry. The pad thai had a great amount of spice and flavor. I'd recommend trying it. The panang curry was also yummy! The thai tea was okay, it was different than what it usually tasted like at other places. It's $5 I believe. Anyways! Try it out! We loved it. Great atmosphere and very nice decor/ set up. He gave us great recommendations and always made sure we were good throughout our meal. Every dish we ordered was delicious. I go here on a regular basis. The service is pretty nondescript. I'm always a fan of crayons and paper to entertain myself while I wait. It's actually a pretty nice atmosphere for a strip mall. I love curry, and they do a great job. My one complaint would be the potatoes in the yellow curry. The potatoes are usually my favorite part, but here they're usually pretty uncooked. Got delivery from here my first night in Houston and it was splendid. I ordered a lot of food, 40 dollars worth since I knew I'd be at the motel for a while, and this lasted me for 3 whole dinners. I got green curry with tofu, medium spicy, pad see ew with tofu, two orders or rice, tofu spring rolls, and extra peanut sauce. The curry was definitely a bit hotter than medium spicy but at least it wasn't dull. Had plenty of flavor and tons of tofu. Same with the noodles. One of the spring rolls came with the casing split, but it still tasted great. The peanut sauce was just perfect. Food was average but nothing really outstanding. But beware that you may have some safety issues and if you do you may have problems getting any customer service. We had a terrible experience there. While scooting my seat forward to pull up to the table, the seat separated from the frame and my finger got caught in between. Was a bloody and painful experience that is ongoing. The manager Raymond did come from another location and comp'd the meal which was appreciated. However when I requested contact info for the owner to file a claim it was not provided. Instead Raymond assured me that I would receive a call the following day from the owner whose name was Neal. That never happened and it's been a week. I have called and left messages for Raymond and Neal but so far no one has had the decency to even return my calls. It appears that this company does not want an investigation started nor any claims on their insurance. Perhaps they believe that they can simply ignore the damages done to their customers by negligent maintenance of their furniture and thus avoid all responsibility? Still waiting for a call back. Honestly, coming over here seemed like an adventure to me. It's not too far from where I stay, but this side of 1960 is a little more sketchy...and so for that reason I felt like this place was more authentic (Ali Wong anyone?). However, I have to say that as soon as we put the food in the car there was a very distinct aroma that that had to have been fish oil. It was hard to wait because (because the fish oil), it smelled delicious. I enjoyed my Shrimp pad thai and my brother enjoyed his it's red curry. They told us that the meat is halal, so he was able to enjoy it with meat, something that doesn't happen often for halal meat eaters. I still prefer the shrimp with my pad Thai. We also got the papaya salad and I was told that it was good as well. Definitely try the Thai tea, it's as good as the ones in Thailand, according to my brother. read more

I ordered the cashew chicken - five stars. Chicken is fresh. Their recipe is less saucy than others but has a ton of flavor. I also had the noodle soup. Go such a simple option it's delicious! if I could give this place a negative 4 stars I would. I ordered a portion and received an individual portion. The quality of the food I ordered was absolutely horrible. I ordered a family portion of red curry and you would've thought I ordered soup for one individual person. The chicken was extremely light. There was more bamboo in the soup than shrimp and chicken. When I called to see if there was a mixup in orders, they told me the portion size was how much they used to feed a family. I'm not sure how many people they consider a family because it was only enough food for one person. And all jokes aside I am not an overweight individual. I ordered this for 2-3 people. Secondly I ordered mango sticky rice for $10.95 it was not worth the money at all even the white sauce. The mango sticky rice was soupy and that's not how it's supposed to be served. Aside from the portion of the red curry issue it was not tasty at all. The food was nasty and not worth my money by far.
