Great seafood! The shrimp were excellent. Fun atmosphere, not too noisy. And very good service.

Small portions. Frozen food from store would have been better. Don't waste your money!

Great advice to go here from the local San Saba Pecan spot. It's located conveniently downtown and…read morewasn't too busy on a Saturday night. The restaurant itself is well decorated and exotic looking. You almost feel like you're not in a small Texas town. The parking is along the street or options to park and walk. Now, food the food options. It's not a huge menu( but there's plenty to choose from if you're just visiting. Personally the brisket queso was really, really good ad an appetizer. The pork belly burnt ends were tasty and hot too. The entree is where we had a tad bit of difficulty adjusting to the amount of salt. We had the chopped steak with mushrooms and onion gravy. It was far too salty. We understand it's a local spot so we refuse to return anything and cost the business or server. The prices are above average for what I consider the portion sizes. The atmosphere was great and the service was great. Give it a shot for yourself if you're in the area.

Service really took a hit because of this. No drink refills or checking on table and she forgot to put our dessert order in. But she was still friendly when we asked to cancel it and to just bring our check. We know this isn't normal for y'all as we.ve dined here several time now.

Inside is large and there are 3 TV's showing different things but the volume is low so you can talk to each other. The tables are spaced apart as well. The staff were very nice and explained the specials and answered questions. I got the Steak Orleans which was a 10 oz ribeye topped with beef cream sauce, jumbo shrimp, and mixed vegetables. That steak was so tender and the cream sauce was very flavorful. It had peppers and onions sautéed in it that made it good by itself, but on top of those seasoned loaded potatoes, it was delicious! Hubby got the shrimp and grits. He said they were the best he's ever had! The grits have jalapeños in it which gave it a kick.He also tasted bacon, green peppers and onions. He said it was his new standard. We ordered a side of catfish and okra because we wanted to taste it. Man, that catfish was piping hot, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. It melted in my mouth! It was seasoned perfectly.

Our waitress, Shanta, was outstanding and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food had that authentic, old-school New Orleans flavor that reminds you of how great Southern cooking used to be. If you know, you know. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxing, making the entire experience even better. The staff was friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely amazing. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants over the years, and this was a breath of fresh air. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back again and again. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in for a great meal. You won't be disappointed. The ambiance alone is worth the visit, and the food and service make it even better. Highly recommended! My wife had a chat with the owner and she also showed a very kind and welcoming spirit. Kind of like a Sunday meal environment

Initially, the hostess told us they couldn't accommodate our party, but then they changed their mind. The interaction felt uncomfortable, as she emphasized their policies for large groups and mentioned that they normally require a minimum of $145 per person. She ultimately allowed us to bypass that requirement as long as everyone ordered an entrée. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and provided excellent service throughout the meal. I ordered the clam and mussel pot, which I found surprisingly bland, though the bread was delicious. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals much more than I did. Unfortunately, there were also some cleanliness concerns. A spider descended from the ceiling onto our table during dinner, and another bug crawled across the table. There was even a bug zapper in the corner of the restaurant that seemed to be going off constantly throughout our meal. For a party of seven, our bill came to around $700. Given the overall experience, the food quality, and the atmosphere, it felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

It's close to us, the food is…read moreconsistently good, and it has become one of those easy places to go when we can't decide what we're in the mood for. The first time we went, we tried the gumbo and it was delicious. It comes out seriously hot--both temperature-wise and spice-wise--but in a good way. They told us they have someone from New Orleans come in once a week to make the roux and bases for their soups and gumbo, and whatever they're doing, it works. One of my favorite things on the menu is actually the avocado salad. Add a few shrimp to it and it's a fantastic meal. I've also had the grilled seafood and usually gravitate toward the salmon with vegetables. My wife loves their fried okra, and we've tried several of the fried seafood options as well. Everything has always tasted fresh and well prepared. Interestingly, we have several friends who go there specifically for the burger. We still haven't tried it, but we've heard enough people rave about it that apparently we need to. The drinks are good too, and when it's just the two of us, we really enjoy sitting at the bar and having dinner there. That's probably what we like most about this place--you can go all-in on fried seafood and enjoy the guilty pleasure, or have a salad with grilled shrimp or salmon and leave feeling like you behaved yourself. Either way, we've always had a good meal.
