What a wonderful place to eat!!! Incredibly good, authentic Italian food in downtown Llano! So unexpected! The restaurant is pretty narrow & quaint with tables along the walls. It was lunchtime and it was quite busy. Nonetheless service was impeccable. Everything was organized and spotless. Our server was a cousin to the owner. It seems that it's family owned and operated. I believe everything but the desserts are scratch made. My friends Chicken Alfredo was super creamy...like velvet. My Eggplant Parmigiana was fantastic-perfectly cooked and the Marinara was better than my own!!! We should've stopped then, but we just couldn't ...so we shared a generous slice of Italian Cream Cake. This restaurant is dynamite ....well worth the scenic drive! read more

This place has been in the town square since we started visiting Llano, but hadn't tried it until today. They have a large menu of all the Italian classic dishes. They bring a basket of freshly baked rolls and butter to the table, which was a nice touch. They had a nightly special but we ordered the italian sausage Rigatoni Arrabiatta and the Lasagne, both of which were delicious- seasoned well and portions were generous. The prices were reasonable, with each of the dishes being under $20. The wine choices were fairly limited but we each ordered a Pinot - both went well with our meals. The service was great, too. There are other options if you just want pizza, but if you want a solid Italian meal, I'd recommend Gio's! read more

Used to really like coming to this place but it's terrible for kids unless your kid likes pasta. Came here Saturday night and my kid wanted pepperoni pizza. Pretty basic and should be about $7-10, right? Wrong. You're forced to order the small cheese pizza for $12.99 then add pepperoni for an additional $1.99. When asking the server why they couldn't make a kids pizza, he said the dough only comes in a small or large, so I guess they're ordering it from sysco or something. Because I could not stomach paying $15 for a kid's meal, I opted to split a large pizza with my son and go half pepperoni half sausage. When I get the bill, they'd charged me $2.99 for each topping. I pointed this out to the server and he said "that's how it is in the computer." That's a BS answer because anyone who's worked in a restaurant knows that you can charge "open food" for just about anything with the POS systems, which I imagined he did when I pushed back and told him I wasn't paying for 2 full toppings when I only received 1/2 of each. Absolutely the best!!!! I was driving through here and decided to stop in for lunch and it was the best decision I could make. First off, they serve fresh and warm bread with a dipping sauce that is out of this world, if you're a garlic lover you will be in heaven. I would've been happy with just the bread! I ordered a chicken Alfredo pasta which was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and the sauce was perfectly cheesy and it doesn't look too big in the picture but it was a large portion. The server was kind and patient and the restaurant itself was simply decorated and spacious. I left there with a full tummy and a happy heart! I wish I lived closer to it so I could go more often! Had a chance to check out the Llano's downtown Italian fine dining. The menu is very ambitious with the execution very good. Italian dining is not my expertise but overall, all dishes are very rich in flavor, cheese and oil. The cannelloni is excellent and should disappoint. The pollo with pesto with garlic breaded broccoli is excellent but you may want to order a side of pasta. The house salad dressing is lemon Parmesan cheese and makes their salads tastes awesome. The soup is very good and would highly recommend. I tried their mozzarella cheese sticks and marinara sauce were excellent and cheesy. The bread was a bit charred. The bruschetta was perfect with their toasted bread very well seasoned. The reason it's only 4-Stars is that this is the first visit and would like to see if this restaurant can execute on busy nights and whether they strive for excellence. Would like to see if they have a seafood other than shrimp such as halibut as well as I would like to try their lasagna. read more

The scampi linguine was nicely seasoned and the pasta was al dente. The cannelloni was a disappointment. It was drowning in tomato sauce and they used manicotti shells instead of crepes. Let me start with how obsessed I was over there homemade bread! Went here with my family and we loved this place! Each meal was very hearty! The place is kid friendly! Adorable staff and best of all, the manager visits each and every table ensuring that the survive and food meet the perfection standards! The portion sizes are enormous and it tastes incredible. They clearly make their own sauces! The ambiance is set in a traditional Italian style restaurant! They do play music which is your classic Italian! Stopped here on the way to Round Rock from West Texas and it was definitely worth the trip. From the outside it looked unassuming and perhaps a little pizza pub-ish with the mirrored windows but wow! When you enter the restaurant it is nothing like that. It's a very charming Italian restaurant. We were greeted immediately by the staff and seated at a nice table. Not too many photos to share because we arrived around 7 pm and were hungry. The bread, fried mozzarella, salads with house Parmesan dressing, my wife's Alfredo, and my Chicken Parmigiana were excellent and ample. We will absolutely return and explore Gino's menu further. Gio's is located downtown on the square. Parking can be challenging certain times of day. The restaurant was busy but staff was attentive and did a great job. Inside offers seating in two areas and it's a seat yourself type place. It was very hot inside. We had sat down in the lower area and it was unbearable so we moved to the upper area but it was still extremely warm and there were flies. Each of us ordered a pasta dish, lasagna, chicken picata, chicken parm, etc. Everyone's food was good. The chicken parm was really bland. Portions were large. We were served fresh hot bread and a salad before our meal which was tasty. Overall good food & service but the hot restaurant and flies drop the overall rating. read more

This place rocks!! Sure small town, limited options, but these guys n gals kill it. It's quite our go-to for feeling fancy. When family from out of town comes through, this is the place we take em. For an easy choice I think the pizza is top notch. If you get a small it comes out nice and crispy, you have to request crispy for the large. My wife, kids and I have had several delicious things off the menu, The bolognese, chicken fettuccine, lasagna or shrimp dishes, but if I just can't decide....Pizza!! I've criticized this restaurant at times, but the kitchen has greatly improved in the past 6 months. They're serving some incredible fish (branzino a frequent special, and flounder in a lemon/wine/capers sauce is on the daily menu). Avoid the steaks, but the eggplant Parmesan is usually perfect. I always enjoy trying new places when traveling. If you had told me, there was a great BBQ place in Llano, my response would have been "well, duh!". If you tried to tell me there was a great Italian place in Llano, my response would have been, "liar, liar, pants on fire". Turns out, there is a great Italian place in Llano and it is well worth a look. The pozole is my favorite. The tortellini is phenomenal. The selection is solid but not overwhelming. Quality is tops, food is fresh, and portions reasonable. And prices are quite reasonable. Next time you're in Llano, skip the BBQ, and treat yourself to some really good Italian food. You'll find yourself coming back. And your pants will be in no danger of bursting into flames. But, just maybe, You'll need to loosen your belt after dinner. read more

The most sweet, lovely, attentive, fun loving staff ever. The staff were all seen joking and helping one another. They were SO sweet and always checking in on us even if they weren't serving us. We went to give our compliments and thanks to the manager and found him to actually have been the one helping us out on the floor. They were all so kind. The food was AMAZING!!! Seriously top tier. We got a little of it everything, 2-3 appetizers that were epic. They also have complimentary fresh bread which is HOT when it comes out and fresh baked. We had pizza, pasta, salads, everything. It was all amazing. They did a birthday desert for my husband and every waiter came by to say happy birthday personally afterwards as well.
