I came to pick up a to-go order and asked if there was plasticware in the bag. The guy told me " no we don't do that." Why you wouldn't naturally provide the basic utensils is beyond me. So I hunted the plasticware down and added it. I believe at one point this place cared about service and quality. But maybe that time is gone. The order was smashed into the bag and sauce was dripping off the side. The last time I had a craving for calamari, it tasted soggy and strange. It tasted as if it had been reheated in a microwave. Why is there no consistency, and why have they decided to give up on customer service? I hope they can get their act together. I will give them one more shot and update soon.

I ordered a combo with Canneloni, Ziti and Manicotti, cheesy and delicious as all their food. The best thing was the rolls (complimentary) which were better than ever. Soft and yeasty, buttered and beautifully dusty with Parmesan and garlic. I'm now officially starving! I'm sure we got tiramisu. It's terrific. I've never had a bad meal there, but this was exceptional. These folks are wonderful--and we've seen their kids grow up here. There was about a 45 minute wait for our party of 7, but the hostesses were very attentive and kept us updated on timing without us having to ask which we appreciated. Bread is brought to the table with oil and spices when you're seated. The bread itself seemed like standard grocery store bread and was room temperature, which was a bit underwhelming. The food came out very quickly, which is convenient but it did feel like the dishes were prepared more for speed than detail. Most plates were fairly oily and heavy on the cheese. Prices are reasonable, and the service was efficient, so we were in and out quickly. While it wasn't a bad experience overall, it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us and it's probably not a place we'd return to. That said, I can see how it might appeal to those looking for a quick affordable Italian meal.
