Food? see my pics - had the blackberry habanero wings - these were like Pluckers size, and really tasty ! My side of onion rings was 3x what I expected! Suzy's chicken sandwich was perfect, and the seasoned fries were awesome! Drinks? nice beer selection on tap, and you can customize their drinks! Suzy had a mountain margarita, but with Don Julio and half salt / half tajin! Service? remembered our drinks for round two, and lightning fast! . GREAT LITTLE PLACE Out of the way, very basic, menu limited to four types of wood-fired pizza. Plenty off road parking, some shaded. The "Bar" is in a modified shipping container, with restaurant kitchen in an adjacent "prefab". Dining under a large awning with big fans and water "misters". It was 95F when we got there, but not uncomfortable in shade. Seating is rounded "picnic tables" and assorted chairs. As others have noted, waiters & management are very, very nice. One major CAVEAT: There is a RED "51%" sign, but it is very, very hard to see/notice. Those from Texas should know what that means; if you don't please ask ! One note read "If Temperature is below 40F, we won't be open". Dress code seems to be at least a bathing suit bottom. Flip-flops or bare feet. One must walk across rocks to enter. Caution deer in driveway. A river/lake is very near. There are primitive campsites and a few "container-cabins" for rent. Things here are very BASIC & out of the way. Prices are very very "reasonable". Do yourself a favor, and go-by for a drink or a wood-fired pizza. Rick . read more

Three of us went for a beverage or two and to listen to some good music late in the afternoon. Friendly bartenders and casual layout provided for a relaxed atmosphere. There was a three piece band on stage playing some good music. Upside to this place is it has a neighborhood bar kind of feel as a lot of the locals come here to relax. Or maybe partially due they're the only show in town, ie close by and the casualty layout. Downside is while the beers are decently priced, the mixed drinks and better liquors are not. But you get a free cozy with your beer so I guess that's the way to go. Lastly, the night we went they had an outbreak of little white flies that kind of took over the place and eventually shoo'd us away. Opened in November 2021, Templeton's Tavern is a relaxed and well thought-out outdoor venue that draws a sizable local crowd. They offer a full bar, beer on tap, and a pizza truck that will have your pizza ready in a flash. Order at the bar and they'll give you a number and deliver it to your table. The main covered patio dining area in front of the bar offers picnic tables large enough to seat a group, and there are additional covered seating areas upstairs and downstairs behind the bar. I noticed beanbag and connect four games, and a few families and lots of groups of people hanging out enjoying themselves. They also have a raised, covered stage to host live music. It was chilly the night we visited, and they turned on the propane patio heaters on request. Parking is adjacent on a gravel lot. Restrooms are on septic, super clean and housed in a trailer like the VIP versions they have at festivals. There are steps up, so they wouldn't be accessible for mobility impaired folks. I was impressed with the friendly and attentive staff, and the live music. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the pizza and drinks as much as we were. I've been here a few times before with no problems. But today (2/2/2025, at approx. 4:45) was terrible. I stood at the bar for what seemed like a long time being totally ignored by the barmaid. She was chatting with 3 of her friends at the end of the bar. They all had full drinks in front of them, so she wasn't taking orders. In fact, she even took the time to pull out a vape pen and fired it up. She never acknowledged me, never made eye contact, just acted like I didn't exist. Recently discovered gem in the hill country that's a great hangout and a great vibe. Just down the way from spider mountain and RV hookups as well. The place is a perfect weekend getaway for the family along with outdoor games and screens for sports. Templetons is a full service bar along with a variety of beers on tap. Brad and the gals behind the bar are awesome and the brick oven pizza is fabulous. But be sure to get there early or it's most certain to run out! Great spot, and better people! read more

Owner/Manager's dog was urinating + defecating around the bar. They didn't care when told about it multiple times, let the dog do it time after time and never cleaned it. Expensive place for it to smell like crap. Ashame, as this place is cool on first glance. read more

Beer was considerably overpriced. We drink craft beers all over the state and find that more than $16 for 2 craft beers in plastic cups is too much. This is not a brewery so you are only drinking what the distributor brings in. The selection was not very limited as well. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant along with the staff being friendly and polite. We would probably not go back due to the prices. read more

This place is a must visit. Settled at the bottom of Spider mountain you will find great views and amazing drinks but the best part is the staff that runs it, they are nothing but amazing. just bad patrons and service. man at the bar had a pitbull not on a leash and roaming everywhere. the dog was in the face of the other dogs. there was dog doody on the turf where people play cornhole. when someone told the man that his dog was bothering them he just yelled at the top of his lungs and swore at the dog. dog also pissed on the cornhole box. told the bartender about the issue and nothing was done. my friends and i just left after getting rude stares and bad vibes. read more
