Napa final If you want to trust your car with young adult BOYS, playing cars... take your car here. BEWARE! We brought our car to Napa Auto Care Center a few months ago with a promise of expertise & a history repairing mustangs. Jake, the new owner looked both my fiancé & myself directly in the eye in the shop confidently stating that he could complete all the work on our Mustang GT because he was a "Master Ford Tech" from Utah. We took it in for a head gasket repair & upgrades. Again, Jake said he could take care of this no problem. The car has been there for almost two months and they have completely destroyed our Mustang GT. Jake is not a "Master Ford Tech" and they do not stand behind their word. They said they could perform tasks that they are not able to do. They agreed to modify the exhaust for the upgrades, they could not. Then they said that the Roush tune needed to be removed so they could move forward. Jake was also aware of the codes being present and stated it was because of the exhaust & current tune. So we had the car towed to Scottsdale muffler shop, they fixed the exhaust. Then we had the car towed to the Ford dealer and they removed the tune & they even expressed concerns about the car. Then we had it towed back, and the car is now allegedly fixed but it sounded destroyed & could not be driven. We have been paying for a rental car this entire time. The communication has been awful, we were told there were so many delays because of employee vacations, and they would each give us different information. I am very disappointed that we chose to have a group of very young men playing cars at Napa Auto repair on McQueen in Gilbert, AZ. They simply looked us in our eyes and blatantly lied about what we were hearing & seeing. We are now having to have our car towed to a reputable shop that will have to fix the car the correct way. Which by the way has found 16 codes right off the bat. We have proof of the Cams were inserted backwards. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT IT DESTROYED. They are now stating because we became "aggressive" by being upset that we spent THOUSANDS of wasted dollars. Yes, we were upset & raised our voices to be heard. We have invested so much money in our dream car & it was destroyed in just under two months by these incompetent business owners. We will be filing an official complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Do your research before dropping off your car to a group of unprofessional children. We have documented proof and if you would like more detail feel free to message me or check them out on the Better Business Bureau once we complete our complaint. He told us "because the exhaust from the headers were incomplete, there was no back pressure to pull fuel through the system", this was not the case; the issue was the cams were reinstalled backwards and the engine was basically destroying itself. With all the metal clanking sounds that Jake stood over our open hood heard, he still sent us chasing our tail knowing that the car was in disrepair. They even reinstalled obviously damaged parts in place of the replacements we purchased (intake manifold). My fiancé swapped it himself in their garage with the techs oversight just for them to say that since he worked under the hood, they will not honor their 2 year, 24k mile warranty...which they haven't been enrolled with since April!!! Visited my stepbrother in Gilbert when my car started giving me issues. I drove to this repair shop. When the owner, Jack, saw my stepbrother wasn't white, he insultingly started making racist jokes about how the garbage man must have gotten our mother pregnant. This was completely out of left field. We weren't confrontational or impolite. My stepbrother told Jack to apologize, or he'd have to defend mom's honor. Jack laughed and said there was no way the police wouldn't believe a white man over a "s---e" (synonym for shovel), and that he keeps protection around for just my stepbrother's "kind". How would anyone do business with this guy, and how would Napa let him continue to use their name? read more

Avoid this place like the plague. Jack isn't a nice guy, he isn't dependable and he will lie straight to your face. Brought my car in because the check engine light was on and we had been told we needed to replace the timing belt. They were the most resonably priced (what a joke that phrase turned out to be) and could have it back to us a few days. Now the nightmare began. After over $1,400 dollars in repairs, I picked up my car and drove home. The following morning, same problems with the car - misfiring and the check engine light was back on. Back to the shop we go. Now we have new problems! $500 later, more repairs. The next day, car was misfiring and you guessed it, check engine light back on. Back to the shop we go! More work (that they didn't charge us for, but I don't believe was really done) and they PROMISE the car is better than new. Riiiiight.... 10 miles down the road, car is misfiring again and the check engine light is back on. And where did we go the next morning? Back to the shop - but this time Jack, the owner, was there. And what an unplesant, rude, disrespectful man he is. I cannot believe he owns a business. He flat out lied to my face when he told me that "Chuck" had drained my gas tank and found it full of gunk. Funny, I had the same amount of gas when I dropped it off and no one had mentioned that had been done. 2 days later, now we are being told the computer is fried - another $2k worth of work. What?!? Oh, and today Jack emptied the tank. Interesting, as Jack told me it had been done 2 days before. And when he did? He "forgot" to fill it back up, leaving me with fumes to make it to the gas station. The car is now at the dealership, which is where I should have taken it to begin with. Not trust some shady, rude, liar. I wouldn't take a Barbie car to this "repair" shop. Hopefully they won't be in business much longer and won't be ripping off other people. read more

I had to bring my car back 3 times after they told me it was fixed ("check engine" light on dash). $750 and tons of wasted time later, my car was returned to me "fixed, this time for sure". Upon retrieval of the car, an engine part (plastic compartment cover) had been left under the front passenger sear and wires were hanging down from under the dash. Jack and his team have worked on a few different vehicles I've brought in over the years and here's why I keep coming back. Jack tells you what you need and what you can do without. He is upfront about cost and time involved in doing a repair. I always take my vehicle here for an inexpensive quick oil change, but if you can't wait while your vehicle is being serviced Justine or someone else will give you a ride wherever and call you when it's ready to be picked up. They will come back and pick you up so no need to figure out how your going to get back to your vehicle. My boyfriend also brings his truck in for regular maintenance. Just recently he had some transmission issues and Jack was able to find the issue immediately and get parts ordered right away. The work this shop does is always in a timely manner even if it's a big job to be done. I support local businesses and that is just another reason why I keep coming back to this Napa. I had been here multiple times for oil changes and stopped returning to this location for a couple of reasons. The main reason being that after an oil change in my wife's car, I noticed oil leaking on the floor of the garage. It took a few days to get it back in but it continually leaked during this time. It was clearly their fault and something wasnt tightened fully but they tried to say that some oil was just sitting in the pan and that was all. They even got very defensive about it without even looking at the car. I had never had oil leak after an oil change and i wasnt even angry. I just wanted it fixed. After the second visit it stopped leaking. I did not appreciate how they acted like we were crazy for being concerned about an oil leak after a change. Secondly, the owner makes very inappropriate, crude jokes at his employee's expense, right in front of customers. It made me awkward and had to be embarassing to the employees. He also acts unprofessionally in general at the front desk. I would recommend NAPA, just not this location. read more

The Summary: - AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. - Would give it ZERO stars if I could. - Came in with small brake issue and a check engine light. Diagnosed with 4 days and $1200-$1700 repair - Arrived three times to pick up the car only to find it had another issue. - Left three weeks and $2500 later with the same brake issue, new engine issues, and a worse transmission issue. - Jack seems like a nice guy but hes either maliciously ripping people off or his people are incompetent. The Story: Had a 2002 VW Jetta with engine power issues and a check engine light. My own diagnostic tool showed some cylindar misfires. We brought it to Jack's Napa AutoCare Center on a referral from a body shop. They quoted us $1200 to $1700 for a new water pump (which broke) and possibly new heads and a head gasket. We trusted Jack because he seemed like a geniune guy. It was supposed to be done in 4 days, which turned into a 11 days because of "shipping delays" from Volkwagen. My girlfriend had them look at the brakes, which they replaced the rear brake pads on. It was supposed to be done on the 11th day so I drove to that side of town just to find out "a new issue came up". I shrugged it off and let them work on fixing it. It finally came time to pick it up so I drove across the city and we couldn't even drive it out of the parking lot because the brakes suddenly didn't work. The check engine light also instantly came on with a new code related to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I went back in severely annoyed after almost two weeks and two attempts to pick it up. Jack assured me that next time I was back the car would be in tip-top shape. He also explained that it needed a new brake booster and "unfortunately it's the expensive one". We paid for a $300 brake booster and let them get back to work. A few days later it was ready to be picked up. The brakes worked just as they had when I dropped it off (after new pads and a new brake booster, both recommended by Jack). The cylindar misfire codes were gone, but the check engine light came on with yet ANOTHER code related to the Mass Airflow Sensor. Regardless, we wanted to be done with Napa so we left just to find that an existing small transmission fliud leak had ended up as a full blown transmission issue. In fairness they did throw in the labor for the brake "fix" for free. I later found out that the battery had been disconnected (battery case was re-installed backwards), most likely in an attempt to clear the check engine light in a shady way. We sold the car as a "mechanics special". read more

This place is horrible. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to taking my car in for repair. We took our car in originally for an oil change which is about the only thing this garage can do. My husband liked the place and it was close to home. We took it in again to replace the struts, cabin filter, tire alignment and replace the plugs to the tune of $1900. Within a year we had to replace the strike plate for the struts ($180), remove a piece of wood blocking our A/C by the cabin filter (thank goodness my husband is a mechanic and found it) and have to replace one year old front tires from a bad alignment ($350). We also had a power steering pump replaced here ($500) and it is now leaking again. I would take the car back to him, but I really don't want him to touch it again. read more

Was waiting around while my car was being serviced and over heard one the owner disgruntle and rude to his employee and it mad me feel so bad I can tell this owner from this shop is emotionally abusive to his employees and nitpicks them I saw the employee sad and upset but respectful. I was warned not to come here because they will try to sell you stuff that you don't need like in dire but they will make it seem that way and they work too fast which makes me feel like they don't care about doing the job with care rushing is not caring about your car I understand some customers want to rush but at the same time rushing can make the employees feel tense and in return can forget to tighten or add a bolt or something because they are under too much pressure to rush. but anyway I already don't like this owner Jack he's moody rude and NOT PROFESSIONAL. Employees just for your Info: If an employee who has been verbally abused is not adequately aided at the company level, she may hire an attorney to take her case to court. Even without precise laws on the books that address the issue, OSHA standards seem to have enough bite to get the attention of courts. For example, the Indiana Supreme Court in 2008 awarded a nurse $325,000 for her claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault after she was screamed at by a surgeon. Once you've heard a hint of abuse occurring within your business, you become part of the problem. You must either address it head on or be prepared to answer for your failure to do so. read more

I'm not sure what has happened since then, but this Napa location successfully managed to screw me out of a couple thousand dollars between fall 2013 and spring 2014 before I started taking my car elsewhere to be serviced. Scroll down and read Heather J.'s review on 11/14/2013. After charging me twice to fix a substantial oil leak in October 2013 (because apparently it takes a professional mechanic 2 tries at the customer's expense to fix an oil leak), nearly the same exact thing happened to me there with my car in April-May 2014 right down to Jack insisting after 4 very expensive "check engine" repairs within a 3-week period--which actually didn't end up fixing anything--that my Eclipse's computer was fried and I needed to give them an additional $1,900 to replace it. I was shocked when I read Heather's review because her story so closely mirrored mine and had only happened about 5 months prior. By the way, a very reliable mechanic in Chandler with outstanding Yelp reviews told me that my "check engine" issue had NOTHING to do with a fried computer and successfully fixed my car the first time for a little under $500. To this day, I still feel incredibly stupid for trusting them with my car as long as I did. I should have left after they charged me twice to fix the same oil leak in 2013. DO NOT...I repeat, DO NOT allow this crooked Napa location to service your car! You're better off lighting your car (or your money) on fire. read more

We first chose it for mere convenience and the very affordable oil change and free tire rotation. The friendliness and very honest, upfront approach by the owner Jack and his staff is what has always kept us coming back! From a standard oil change to more costly vehicle repairs (such as brakes/rotors, starters, and timing belts), we have always felt that we were getting high quality work at the best possible price from honest guys who genuinely love their jobs and their customers.
