Normally get my brows done at another place, but I went here because it was close to work, and I had some free time today. It was $9 for threading, just a dollar more than what I usually pay for. But the woman who helped me did a great job -pretty painless job, fast service. Plus, she gave off a friendly and welcoming vibe. My original threader does an equally awesome job, so I think I'll stick to her. However, I will say that if I'm ever around this area and need a quick brow fix, I'll think of Nanu. read more

Service was fast, but unusually more painful than my regular place ....not really sure why ? I only get my eyebrows threaded because my skin is sensitive. Took my daughter in for a henna tattoo it did not turn out like the pictures they advertise. I took her back and the lady that did the tattoo made up excuses from the fact that lotion on her leg made it not dark to that we did not wet it enough. We have had them before and never a problem. Now my daughter has a light orange tattoo that we paid $40 for. They were rude and we will never return again. read more

The absolute most awful threading experience I have ever had, I went to Angie, and read on here, and at the signup at the store that she is the most requested...well I have no idea why. I asked her to keep my shape, but clean them up, no joke she took off 1/2 of my eyebrow at the end and destroyed the shape...I actually left the place and was in tears.. I just moved from NYC, and had an amazing threading artist there, and have since been on the hunt here...and am still going to be looking. Do not go here, and do not get Angie! read more

I love this place! I've gotten my eyebrows threaded once before coming here, and I had to make the lady stop because it hurt too bad. But here they really know what they're doing, it doesn't hurt too bad, and they're prices are really reasonable! The lady always talks to me through out the process well to distract me from any pain :) it's awesome, highly recommended. They also just opened a NEW LOCATION on E 17th in Costa Mesa! This place is nice, I usually go at lunch time and there's never any wait. I don't go to a particular person just whoever is free and they all do a pretty good job. I just hate that parking so hard to find. There is free valet but everyone knows free means free + tip unless you're a complete jerk. read more

I used to love Nanu, it was the only place i really liked. I am strongly disappointed in how they treated my mom today. I started my mom on going to Nanu for her eyebrows, today she went to do her eyebrows then proceeded next door to do her pedicure. While there she started to check out her eyebrows and was not pleased with them. The lady had taken off too much, my mom has very light eyebrows so now when you look at her, she appears to have half an eyebrow. She went back to Nanu to point out the state of her eyebrow, the receptionist was no help. Just said i do not know what to say. When the threading lady finally came over to the reception desk, she said she did not touch that end of the eyebrow, that my moms eyebrows where too thin. this whole time she had a very defensive attitude. To the point that my mom asked the receptionist if the threading lady was racist. Finally the lady told the receptionist to give my mom her money back, as to get my mom out of her hair, my mom declined that was not the point of going back. The receptionist and my mom kept on talking, and the threading lady from across the salon yell to the receptionist to just give my mom the money. I work in a environment where i need to deal with clients and issues. I would never antagonize my clientele. As a proud member of the business i would also never embarrass my business like that. As a smarter professional I would of have had acknowledged the problem, acted on it and offer her my business card with a free threading for her next visit, to show her that we can do her eyebrows properly, and finally apologize for the inconvenience. Its the simple threes A's rule of a well run business Acknowledge, Apologize, Act. The free threading for her next threading is not a far fetch idea since they have an ongoing promotion of on your eleventh threading is on the house. Like i said earlier bitterly disappointed, my mom and I will not be going back at all. read more

I really don't want to write a negative review for this place, especially since I've been coming here for YEARS. When I first came here, I requested Navi, who was apparently the goddess of threading here. It was my very first experience with threading, so I was quite nervous, to say the least. She did my eyebrows exactly the way I wanted them, turning me into a threading convert for life. From then on, I vowed not to let anyone touch my brows but Navi for as long as she worked there... Well, a year went by, and I went in and requested Navi. My worst eyebrow nightmare came true: my favorite eyebrow threader didn't work there anymore! Well, no problem, I thought. There must be other great threaders here... Fast forward, and I discover Angie, another great, experienced threader at Nanu. From then on, she became my threader of choice. In fact, it was Angie who made me forget about my ex (-threader), Navi. I quickly rebounded from the loss of my favorite beauty technician and saw Angie as my new go-to. Fast forward again to today...one month after I saw Angie at Nanu. I come in and asked if Angie was working...and the unthinkable happened. ANGIE DOESN'T WORK THERE ANYMORE!! At that point, I thought to myself, "What the hell is happening to all the good ones?!" Trusting that they had other skilled threaders available (based on my previous experience), I decided to trust the front receptionist in selecting a threader for me. BIGGEST FREAKIN' MISTAKE OF MY BEAUTY-RELATED LIFE!!!!!!! They sent me to station 2, where a somewhat young threader stood waiting, smiling very innocently while station 1's older threader stood staring. The younger threader did the usual "How would you like your brows?" and then we got started. Now, I should have known something was wrong. It just FELT wrong. The way she threaded, the speed (or lack thereof) at which she threaded, and the very extended length of time for which she threaded. A few minutes later, she handed me the mirror and asked me to assess my right brow. I pointed out what I wanted done, making it clear that I wasn't completely satisfied yet. She continued to work...couple minutes later, she handed me the mirror again.... I took one look in the mirror and wanted to cry. She had butchered my right eyebrow, turning it into a shape I'd never EVER seen before. Instead of a nice arch, she left a VERY NOTICEABLE empty patch of skin to the right of where the arch was. So essentially, my right eyebrow looked like an eyebrow with a sinkhole in it. WHAT THE HELL, LADY?! WHERE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THAT EYEBROW SHAPE BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU THINK IT'D LOOK GOOD?! It wasn't even CLOSE to what I asked her to do. She didn't even apologize for it. After I made it clear that I was upset, I immediately turned to the older threader at station 1 and asked her to finish the left brow, knowing that there was nothing that could be done to save my right brow. She did my left brow fine (honestly, it looked better than the hot mess), but it wasn't anything magical like Navi's or Angie's work. After finishing my left brow, she tried to save my right brow....nope, couldn't be done. After a while, she just looked at it and shook her head. I paid my $9, gave the young girl $2 (just to be polite, even though I REALLY didn't want to), and walked out. I went home and my mom told me it looked like a blind child did my right eyebrow....I've been a client at Nanu for YEARS. It's safe to say that I will NOT BE RETURNING ever again after this experience. They've just gone downhill. read more

I recently switched to NANU for my brown and lip threading. I love the check in system that they use. They always have a staff member available to help and the facility is clean and right off the freeway. Love this place. I had a chance to meet the owner and his wife and they were awesome! My first time here and I won't be back. I made myself clear to keep my eyebrows thick and less angular at the corner. The girl did not listen. Yes it was not angular but it was ridiculously round, like a semi circle. Other than that, I never felt so bald in my eyebrow area. It was the thinnest I've seen. I am not pleased! I told her that it wasn't to my liking (in a nice way) and she got defensive. I'm giving them a star just because the service was fast. I could have done my eyebrow for less and with someone who listens and follows directions well. read more

I normally go here to have my eyebrows threaded however, I went to Ziba today because I had a Groupon. However, because I was no a first time client at Ziba they would not honor my Groupon. Back to Nanu's it was and I had Tika for the first time today. I cannot rave enough about her, she was amazing! It was the most painless threading I have ever had. She knows what I want and does it perfectly. However, anytime that I am going for threading I have a kind of fear to request Anji because other threaders try to persuade me to sit on their chair.
