Hands down the best barber I've had. No exaggeration and being 100% truthful. You will not regret it. Cleanest fades. Precise and Ahmed knows what he's doing. Great guy to talk to and just amazing with his craft. I constantly get complements on my hair and have referred so many people so far and guess what? They all keep coming back. So should you!

I was in search of any place that cuts men's hair this morning. After searching the 10 surrounding barbers and salons, I came across TESORO SALON. I immediately made an appointment after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures, including a picture of the similar look that I was going for. Ahmed took me in early morning. I was super excited knowing that he is super close to my home. The vibe inside the salon is pretty cool with a lot of black and white colors on the walls, including the art and decor. Ahmed was super friendly and precise on his technique. Ahmed also LISTENED to what I had to say, and he DELIVERED!!!! Leaving my mouth wide open, jaw dropped. The outcome blew me away. Absolutely wonderful service. I came in for a very last minute appointment and all I needed was to keep the length up top and clean the sides up. Ahmed did exactly what was asked and nothing more. I've been to too many barbers where they'll add their flair but I'm a simple guy, just a clean up and don't touch the top. I'll be returning for another cut in the future. 10/10. read more

Best barber in OC PERIOD! Ahmed is the ultimate professional. This man truly knows hair. My hair is very thin and difficult to cut, yet Ahmed not only cuts and fades my hair perfectly, but also gives me great ideas for styling my hair. Don't try to just walk-in for a haircut. As with any good professional, he runs a tight ship, with clients coming in and out back to back. Always call for an appointment and he'll share his availability with you. I booked online for haircut and brow threading and was extremely impressed with the service. I knew I would get a good cut as soon as he started. This is the hair expert that I've been looking for. I've been struggling to keep a think head of hair since my mid 30's and now that I hit 50 I have to do a bit of an embarrassing comb over at times. After leaving here I have a boost of confidence and leave with a fresh perspective after having a good conversation with the boss, sole proprietor in this clean modern establishment. He has room for other stylists yet keeps it simple and has his chair only so calling ahead for an appointment is imperative yet he snuck me in right away. Thanks for the haircut my man. Couldn't recommend this place enough!! I came in to get my eyebrows threaded by Ahmed (the owner) and he did the best threading job I've ever gotten! The place is super clean and very professional, even for threading you get the full barber shop experience and the prices are unbeatable for the service you get! Definitely going to be my only spot going forward not only for threading but to line my beard up and any other services I need! 10/10 experience - you gotta see for yourself!! read more

Simply Awesome. A truly talented stylist and great shop. A++ When you walk in the door, you are greeted straight away by Ahmed who welcomes you in to his modern and attractive salon like you are an old friend. The salon is clean and has class and yet isn't off-putting in it's style; it feels very comfortable to sit down and get a haircut as you just feel that you are in good hands. The cut itself was done with precision and care even though I was very confusing in my description as I didn't walk in with the clearest of ideas how I wanted to proceed. Even after fumbling around to describe, he was able to interpret my wanderings into exactly what I wanted and what would fit my needs and my face. Ahmed has journeyed around the world and back to Irvine, California doing what he loves most: Styling men's hair. From educator to to on-site stylist he does it all. However, his favorite place is "behind the styling chair working with my salon clients, or "Barber" as some old school clients call him. He still allows himself to get creative and push himself to be better." His prowess of cutting and styling are grounded in a strong educational foundation and disciplined approach of life-long learning. Its followed by the best facial massage I've had in a long time. She really gets in there and massages everything from neck to forehead. I mean, I was ready for a nap right after she did that. She then went on to take care of another client and I was fighting falling asleep haha I was with the mask for a good 10mins or so. But when the hair place is closed you can park there. Appointment is the best because this place is always booked and busy.

On my second visit, though, I had a very uncomfortable experience. The technician kept telling me to be completely still, especially when I looked away briefly or made slight movements while I was trying to cooperate. Instead of calm guidance, she became visibly upset, and the tone of the "be still" reminders felt aggressive and repetitive. What made it worse was the physical handling. She repeatedly grabbed/touched my hands and arms to position me, and it felt forceful and uncomfortable rather than careful. I also had hygiene concerns. The table/workstation I was seated at appeared dirty, and a tool she used did not appear sealed when it was taken out. She said it was sterilized, but there were several sealed/packaged items visible nearby, and her explanation didn't match what I saw.

Ahmed is the best barber in town by far. I came across Ahmed in 2011 at a previous location after my original barber passed me off to him for overbooking himself which was pretty disrespectful on my original barber at that time because I would come back to him about 3 times a month. Nonetheless I was very happy and satisfied as well as obtaining a confidence boost because not only did Ahmed provide a world class service he actually managed to convince on changing my hair style which took me a few minutes to commit but I agreed my brother Ahmed gave me a classic combover hairstyle which when I saw I was super stoked looked great completely fitted my style as before I had an unprofessional look of the famous spiky hair. I immediately knew Ahmed will be my go to barber as time passed he became a great friend and since 2011 I could honestly say that the other barber has cut my hair who was not my own barber/friend Ahmed. Ahmed will take care of you all around its a one stop place, haircut, eye brow thread and will also make your scruffy beard look professional and presentable. You want to obtain compliment on any of this 3 things I mentioned and even if you don't Ahmed's craft will bring those compliments in. read more

I'm a very meticulous and particular Libra man, I was in search of a master Barber who could satisfy my needs. Approximately a year and a half ago I ran into a gentleman at STX and was very impressed not only with his hair cut but also his beard trim. I approach and ask, where and who is your barber? He shared is contact info with me and I quickly called and made an appointment. Ahmed was able to fit me in a couple hours later. As I entered to Tesoro's Salon, I was very impressed with the decor, it felt like a salon out of the movies, very modern. The salon was clean and full of life. I waited patiently and eagerly for my turn. A few moments later I was next. I was greeted pleasantly by Ahmed and was asked what I would like. I told him I'll be a blank canvas for you, go-ahead and show me what you can do. Upon finishing I was amazed and grateful, I found what I've been looking for for so long, someone that's neat, organize, clean, meticulous, professional & friendly. Ahmed is a magician with the scissors! I'm originally from New York and after moving to Irvine in 2018, finding a barber wasn't easy. The cheap barber for $25 will cut your hair in 5-10 mins. A $40 haircut from supercuts or Danckut's is inconsistent because the barber keeps changing and overall not worth the price. Ahmed's consistent haircut is high quality for only $35! I usually leave with a good tip because he does such a good job! What attracted me to his shop was the 100+ positive yelp reviews. What kept me coming back was the confidence boost I get from a haircut from Tesoro. He knows exactly how to style my hair without needing lots of details. After a while, I just ask for the usual and it comes out perfect every time. Ahmed is a one man show and for good reason. No one can do a better job than this craftsman! To begin, this place works by appointment only. Called in and was put in for a time that same day! Was greeted right as I came in, overall everyone was friendly and the business is kept clean. The owner was great about listening to my attempts at describing what I was looking for as it was my first time trying for a different look. He didn't rush through and also made friendly conversation which definitely helped with the whole experience. Overall I'm really happy with how my hair turned out and will be coming back. For reference, I asked for a standard cut which came out to be $25. For the quality of the work, I'd say it was worth it! read more

I searched Yelp and wanted to find a barber in the Irvine area. I found Tesoro Salon and called Ahmed to make an appointment at 6pm. When I got there, I didn't have to wait long. The salon is very modern and clean. Once it was my turn to get a cut, Ahmed was very nice and asked me how I wanted my cut. He offered some small suggestions which were very helpful. The cut wasn't too long, but Ahmed didn't rush and made sure to go over every little detail until it was complete. This is what you want in a barber. I created a yelp profile so I could give a review of this place. I have been to many local places to have my bald head shaved and my beard cut, only having to come home and fix it. I complained to my wife enough that she found Tesoro Salon on yelp. I waited until my beard was a little overgrown and went in last night. I asked for a shaved head and a bear trim. I described how I usually do it myself and said if you have a better way I am open. He said I have an idea and went to work. The trim was perfect and I did not have to go home and fix anything. For the price that you pay, Ahmed's haircut is by far the most valuable. For a cheap 25$ you get a haircut that won't only make you look good, but it will also make you feel good. I went in there for the first time today not really expecting much, but Ahmed really blew me away. I will for sure be going back and I will definitely tell everyone I know about his work. Came in late to his, personal salon, and he gratefully attending me. Salon is beautiful, a bit hidden but in a safe area. Really great hairdresser (Barber). Love the haircut. Washes after your haircut and gets it styled for a great price. Good man, and has a lot to talk about. Came first before my sister's wedding, since I needed to look all fancy, and my wife said she loved my hair. Needless to say, I've been back 3 times now. All consistently great cuts.
