I've been getting my eyebrows threaded and my lip and chin waxed for over three decades, in locations as diverse as Jamaica, England, and across the US. Never, until my recent experience on 3/2, have I encountered such a distressing outcome. Upon walking into the salon as a walk-in customer, I was greeted with friendliness and no wait time, which was a pleasant start. My request was simple: eyebrow threading and lip & chin waxing. The technician briefly mentioned sugaring as a gentler alternative but didn't recommend it or provide details, so we proceeded as usual. The threading went without a hitch, albeit without achieving the desired arch, but acceptable considering my apprehension about over-thinning. The waxing, however, was a completely different story. The technician's technique was unlike anything I've experienced before, leaving my face feeling ablaze immediately after. Despite expressing that everything was "fine" when asked--primarily due to my eagerness to leave and alleviate the discomfort--I wish I had voiced my discomfort then and there. The situation worsened, leading to a rash believed to be from the wax or the applied "aloe." Despite attempts to soothe my skin with a chemical-free cooling compress, the irritation persisted, raising fears of long-term damage. This ordeal couldn't have come at a worse time, as I'm preparing for an important customer meeting this week. Now, I face the embarrassment of attending it with a visibly red and irritated face. It seems I was unlucky in my technician selection, as another customer specifically requested two others by name. The technician's insistence on the "aloe" and the promise that the redness would subside now feels like an acknowledgment of a mistake, yet there was no direct admission or apology. The discomfort and embarrassment are compounded by my already high anxiety about the upcoming meeting. In summary, despite the salon's positive reviews, my experience was deeply disappointing. I rate it 2 out of 10 and do not recommend their services. If you do decide to visit, perhaps due to their otherwise glowing reputation, proceed with caution, and perhaps opt for those technicians who come highly requested. And remember, they charge extra for credit card payments, so bring cash to avoid additional fees. read more

I normally go to the location in Santa Ana off Sunflower and Bristol- Ziba Beauty. They do a freaking AMAZING job. Like everything I like variety and I took a risk.... I visited Vanita's today @ about 12pm and I surely was greeted and the front desk staff was okay. Except this Indian girls kept talking about me. Saying how fat I was. . . etc. I thought to my self " That Bitch". I've been studying languages for about 6 years now and Hindi is one of the languages I totally rock at. Soo I brushed her off and as she send me to a threader she kept making me uncomfortable. The threader didn't hear my needs. She thinned out my brows excessively and cut them short in length. My brows were beautiful and very long. Now they look like .....never mind. They're so god damn ugly. As I proceeded to pay it was only $7.00 but I would have much rather paid my $11.00 @ Ziba Beauty and gone home happy. The girl that helped me out cut my eyelid about 5 times and didn't even apologize. I think that will scar and forever be ugly. . . In conclusion, I think I won't take any more risks. I've been going to my location for about 15 years know and every time I try to save a couple bucks I get my brows massacred. NEVER AGAIN!!! I don't recommend this place at all. I would advice all of the readers to visit Ziba Beauty 714-556-2245. They give awesome service and the salon look is much higher up scale. The worse experience of my life in waxing , I ve been a very loyal customer to vinita ,I ve been going there almost 3 years , so one day I decided to go on Monday , I usually go to TINA for years , but she only work Wed , Thurs , FrI and Sunday ahhhhhh , so I walk in and I told the receptionist , I need my waxing done and she send me to chair no 7 , her name was VIDA !!!!!!!never again , she was sooooo painfulll , she literally ripped off my skin and am still not recoverd she was really horrible and she was kept on saying oh am the best here , oh really I was like WTF !! and she does horrible eyebrow tooo ,I told her to just CLEAN my brow !!! And she made them sooo short with no arch And she didn't even do the eyebrow massage at the end wTF Please vinita u shouldn't have so untrained and unprofessional people working for u , Usually I love their staff except no 7 , everybody is super friendly I love TINA no# 3 she is awesome !!!! she usually takes care of me , she's really good , she always does an amazing job , I ve tried soo many salons , she's is my fav , her technique is different and it's painless !!!!!!! I am in so much love with this place. One of the very few places that I can say are authentic threading salons. I work in Irvine so this place is extremely convenient for me. They are located right off FWY 5 at the intersection of El camino and Newport. Girls are great and super skilled. No matter whoever i go to, I come out happy. Although my fav. is Cindy. She is the 'Guru". I think she works in their Cerritos location few days a week too......not sure what days. The place is always busy and they should expand the waiting area specially in eve and weekends. The best part is, howsoever busy they are, I still manage to get in and out is less than 15 mins. The have sufficient staff and that is one thing i appreciate about Vinita's. Since I live in SGV, I am gonna soon try their Pasadena location that they have opened recenty. I've heard great reviews about that one too. I hope they have the same great staff there too as they have here in Tustin or Cerritos. read more

I had the worst Brazilian waxing experience ever . Her name was Vida, usually Tina is my girl i was in a rush so i went to see some other person assuming that they must train their staff similar techniques. WRONG! She burned me 4x and it's been 3 months and I still have a little mark from this experience. I actually had to remind her a few times before she put the wax on me to blow on it and wait for it to cool before burning my extremities. She was too busy selling me her other services to even pay attention to what was happening down there. Worst of all this wax took forever! NEVER going back!!! The receptionist was very pleasant though so I will give 1 star for that. But I've had better Brazilians w Tina she is amazing very personal i dint even feel the pain w her . TINA!!!!!!!!! She's a perfectionist and I love her!! She'll take great care of you whether you need threading or waxing - she's got it all. I love this place, well - I freakin' loooooovee TINA! I think I am in love with her. Seriously. I can't stop raving about her. She will magically shape any eyebrow, and make you look like a freakin' million bucks. I've gone to MANY different threaders, and NO ONE compares. I've tried taking my friend's advice to go to theirs, but I can't tell my friends that they well, they suck in comparison to TINA Can't remember their names, but let's just say I won't get anybody else other than TINA herself. This is the only reason I give this place a 4, instead of a 5. I'm rethinking of just giving them a 5 because of TINA'S brilliant expertise! read more

DZOPE! Ive been going to LACY for years! Loving my eyebrows and hair! Not too sure why i havent wrote a review when i first started. I guess i dont do reviews in general lol more like stare at my favorite spots on yelp. But i felt she deserves this! Shes hilarious! Vinita is the only place I go for my eyebrow threading and facial and waxing. I have trusted TINA with my brows for several years and she is truly a perfectionist. I have a scar on one eyebrow that she is able to work around in order for both brows to look groomed and complete. I have had other services with TINA,including facial waxing and bikini waxing. Tina really knows how to make sure your brows are shaped proportional to your face and will make your brows look better than ever.
