My Bloody Mary took more than 20 minutes to arrive and was missing the celery. The crab cake Benedict had barely any crab, and the side of bacon was burnt to ash. I wanted to send it back, but our waiter was nowhere to be found. After eating the few bits that weren't completely charred, I finally caught him and asked for one replacement slice. He brought three--all equally burnt. I would have liked a cappuccino after brunch, but the bill was simply dropped on the table without so much as, "Can I get you anything else?" For a restaurant with this reputation--and these prices--the food and service should be much better. What was a charming and high-quality brunch spot appears to be going the way of other tourist traps. High prices without equally high quality.

(Michelin took a break from Vegas until recently). The award was well deserved and this restaurant has not rested on its laurels. Everything was done to perfection, from entering till we received the check. 2 hour dining experience. Service was amazing and delightful staff. I had been before and the waiter explained the menu to my wife with great detail. Pace of the service for the courses was just right. Never felt rushed. Allowed to enjoy every bite. We had two appetizers - foie gras and pomme de terre. Mains were black cod and duck. Wonderful! Desert was the soufflé. Of course before you get bread from their bread cart and the same after dessert, selections from their desert cart. Amazing experience overall and very nice touches for her birthday. A card, personal menu, and some cake. Very tasteful. Hands down the best dining experience for fine dining I've ever had. I have done the French Laundry, Alinea in Chicago, Arcane in Hong Kong, and other notable restaurants in the world, having lived overseas for over a decade and still a world traveler. All presented in a way that you're slightly reluctant at dipping your silverware into, with a sharp and efficient service that never leaves you wanting. Grand Cru tasting was exemplary, giving your reins to the expert Sommelier - always a perfect pairing with the plates and you learn something along the way. Being one of the few Michelin starred restaurants in vegas I figured we would be in for an incredible time. Customer service was about as exceptional as you would hope it would be. The woman seating us did inform us that where we were sitting does typically experience a draft and might be cold, and that they had accommodations (likely a jacket or similar). She was right it did border on uncomfortably cold, however we just tolerated it. The rest of the staff was great, they explained things well, were quick, kept our counter area clean, and our drinks filled. No complaints here. The restaurant itself feels similar to alot of other higher end restaurants with the very dim almost dark atmosphere, it was clean and well kept. Prior to arrival I did not know we would be sitting at a bar style counter which was most certainly not the vibe I was looking for to celebrate with each other, as you are seated right next to other people on either end and the bar counter feels very cramped once you get dishes coming and going. We did not care for this setup, it was said to be this way as an experience watching the kitchen staff prepare your food. From our seats and angle mainly the only thing we could see was the one guy whipping the potatoes all evening. We had ordered the 9 course tasting menu for $255 per person. I requested the seafood to be substituted which they were able to accommodate, she ordered hers as it comes normally. The first thing we received was the bread, which despite looking very aesthetic it felt like nothing more special than anything you would receive at a mid tier chain restaurant, and there are some chains with bread I prefer over this. First course was a layered foie gras foam, I know this is strong but we both absolutely hated it and felt it set a terrible tone for the meal. Second for me was a take on a salad tomato with guacamole and other veggies with a sauce, her second was a small glass with caviar and lobster, these were both fine. Third was a corn themed soup that I found to be very good, the presentation, and flavor was top notch. Her third was a friend wonton type of langoustine. She said it was good but nothing special. Fourth up for me was a soft boiled egg with cheese crisps, and for her a scallop in some kind of sauce or foam, she said this was the best course of the evening. I thought mine was boring, bland, and underwhelming although it looked nice. Fifth was a foie gras ravioli for both of us, we both disliked this dish. Sixth was quail legs stuffed with foie gras for me, and a salmon or branzino dish for her. They told me mine was a house specialty, I thought it was bland, under seasoned, and generally unappealing. Again she said hers was good but nothing outstanding. Seventh was the main entree, you get to select this from a choice of 3, we both picked the ribeye. I understand this is not a steakhouse but for a main entree at a Michelin restaurant, it was disappointing to say the least, meat was on the tougher side and undercooked from how we ordered it, the flavor was good though. The famous mashed potatoes had an insane texture but the flavor was mediocre just tasting like a stick of butter. 8th and 9th were the dessert courses, first was a tart cherry sorbet, and second was a complex yuzu ice cream dish. She really enjoyed the cherry tart one, and I thought the yuzu one was the star of the entire evening. I would return solely to get that, it was absolutely spectacular. We were gifted a trio of little pieces slice desserts, all three were good but not as special as the yuzu dessert. The final thing we were given was 2 macarons to go. I ended up thinking the macaron was my second favorite thing I ate all night. It is a shame we spent as much as we did for my favorite bites to both be desserts. Also after leaving she had mentioned that it bothered her that none of the dishes were hot and only room temperature at best, I did not notice until she had said it. In summary for as much as we paid, there were very few standout dishes, and we both left fairly disappointed having had just a few good bites of food while sitting at a cold, and unpersonal bar to celebrate. Maybe it was an off night but with prices like this, that to me would be unacceptable. Most of the dishes we had felt unimpressive, bland, and just relatively uninteresting, the most interesting thing about some of the dishes was the waiters ability to memorize the descriptions. If you have money to splurge on things like this frequently, I would recommend you try it as your experience may be better than ours. However if this meal is an extremely special or once in a lifetime type of meal, I would unfortunately recommend you find somewhere different.

Ohlala has such an elegant, inviting atmosphere, with beautiful chandeliers and a cozy French bistro feel. It's located on Rampart and Lake Mead, near Starbucks. We arrived at 11:00 for brunch, and by 11:30 the restaurant was alive and bustling. One of my favorite things about Ohlala is that the owner always comes out to greet guests at their tables. He makes everyone feel welcome and takes the time to check that everything is going well--a personal touch that really makes a difference. This visit, I had a cappuccino and the traditional French toast, which comes with honey, syrup, and whipped cream. The crust was perfectly crisp while the center practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious! They have a great menu with plenty of options, and whether you're looking for brunch, lunch, or dinner, Ohlala is definitely worth a visit!

The food was delicious!! I did the Le Brunch offering, which is a multi course menu for $85. Bring your appetite, because it is all delicious and they give you so much food! Their pastries and bread are heavenly and such good quality. I would have gotten seconds of all the baguettes and pastries if I had any room to put it all! You're allowed to take as many pastries as you want. There were many different kinds as well, not just the ones in my picture. The inside of the restaurant is also bright and cheery and it really feels like you're on vacation when dining in here. My favorite courses were the chefs pastries, burrata with tomatoes and baguette, and the skirt steak with scrambled eggs. Definitely try the Le Brunch because you get to try so many kinds of dishes for what I think is a reasonable price, considering what it would cost if you ordered it all separately. We arrived to a quiet restaurant with just a few diners. We were seated at a large, very comfortable booth. Carlos was our server who explained the menu in detail. Bread service arrived shortly after placing our orders. Soft butter was already at the table. We had a choice between Brioche, Sourdough and Foccacia. We each chose one and found all of them to be very good. This was offered again as we waited, but we didn't want to get too full. For our starters we had the Escargots en Vol-au-Vent and Crispy Frog Legs. The frog legs were delicious but incredibly small. The escargots were good but we all agreed that we prefer the classic Escargots de Bourgogne. For our entrées -- La Belle Farms Duck, Roasted Jidori Chicken and Le Hamburger (+bacon & egg). The husband enjoyed the hamburger. He said it was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The accompanying fries were crisp and flavorful. The daughter's chicken was tender and juicy. She loved it. My duck was ok. Although it had nice flavors, the skin was not crispy. It was also a bit tough to slice and chew. For dessert we chose the Warm Chocolate Cake and Ile Flottante. Both were beautifully prepared and not overly sweet. Excellent service. Half of the dishes we ordered had a sauce that was poured at the table. That was a nice touch. Our plates and utensils were changed after each course. Water was refilled continously. Every dish was meticulously presented. Lovely ambiance. It was a nice experience overall.

It's tucked away on the 10th floor of The Venetian, and the walk from the elevator feels like you're wandering through an Italian mansion before suddenly arriving at a French bistro. We were warmly greeted at the door and escorted to our table. Brandon, our server, was impeccable, exactly what you'd expect at a Thomas Keller restaurant. Attentive, knowledgeable and polished without being stuffy. They start the meal with incredible bread from Bouchon Bakery. That alone is a pretty great way to begin dinner, and the bakery is another place worth checking out while you're at The Venetian. At a French restaurant, French onion soup is almost always my go-to starter, and Bouchon's was truly a work of art. On the menu, it's Soupe à l'Oignon. It arrives at almost nuclear heat, so give it a minute before diving through that beautiful layer of melted cheese. Absolutely delicious. My dining partner ordered the classic Steak Frites and said it was one of the best she's ever had. I went in another direction with the Gnocchi à la Parisienne. Those little gnocchi pillows were heavenly. Rich, flavorful and something I would absolutely order again. Because we were heading to an event at the Sphere, we had to skip dessert, which may have been the only disappointing part of the evening. Next time! Can't wait to return and explore more of the menu. Having now experienced both locations, I can happily say Las Vegas lived up to my memories of Napa.

If you're feeling like a splurge, the west coast oysters and seafood towers are a delight. But we know and expect this from a Thomas Keller restaurant. I am writing this review for the people that take such extraordinary care of you while you enjoy in the delight of the setting and the place and of course the food. Doug takes care of us so much every time we go. He goes above and beyond and is so kind to my parents, parents in law and kids when we go as a family. We have such wonderful chats (about family, old Vegas and the evolution of the town) and he elevates not only the dining experience but our trip as a whole. He does it so effortlessly with every table. We also love Sally (super sweet and caring) and Kelsey (wonderful and a die-hard Dodger fan). They are all so fantastic! It is these micro-interactions that are vital to an institution such as Bouchon, this city as it goes through growth cycles, and society at large. When we first started going to Bouchon, it was to hang with friends and catch up. Now, we get to have meals with three generations and as life marches forward, these moments become precious. Bouchon is synonymous with these gatherings.
