Incredible place with helpful and knowledge people! This is THE place for gluten-free bread and cake in Rapid! Get the maple glazed donuts, seriously! Everything is fresh and delicious (which makes a difference when you're getting gluten-free baked goods which tend to go stale fast). When we were there, they had just taken Honey-white gluten-free loaves out of the oven and it made this gluten-sensitive girl cry, it was THAT GOOD! It was like REAL bread like I used to eat before the allergies happened! I was so excited, I bought an embarrassing amount of bread and lemon cake and took it to our reunion and no one knew it was gluten-free! Also, it's worth noting that if you have other allergies (dairy/nuts/etc.), the staff is knowledgeable and will steer you right to what you can eat. Seriously, if you are gf & dairy-free, this is where you want to go to get fresh bread products! We were directed here by someone at Breadroot (also an amazing place for those with special dietary needs), and we are so grateful. We were surprised that Nanna's was "at the mall," but it was easy to find and so worth the stop! They were out of pancakes, don't.know el why it was middle of morning. So requested french toast and added eggs. The food was so bad couldn't even eat it The eggs were hard and inedible, I asked for over medium and got hard. The French Toast was so dry could hardly swallow kept having to use more syrup. No compensation offered for eggs that were not edible. Get to register and total was $27 for a breakfast that I couldn't even eat. $17 for French toast and then was told eggs were extra. Again no compensation offered to reduce billing. Biggest rip off and worst breakfast i have ever had. Definitely will.not recommend or eat there again. Service was terrible as well. Had breakfast served but had to ask for silver ware. If this is normal they won't be around for long which is no loss read more

We were traveling and it had been a couple of days since I had a good gluten-free meal and then....I found Nanna's Cafe!!! My gluten loving husband and I both had hamburgers and he commented how well the GF homemade hamburger bun tasted. It was a great burger. Mine had bacon on it and the bacon was super thick. It seemed to be just as thick as the patty. SO TASTY. . I also ordered a loaf of bread to go and it is a magnificent loaf of gluten-free bread. Close your eyes and imagine the smell of homemade bread along with melted butter on top, Mmmmm, hard to beat. It would almost be worth the move! The person who helped me was extremely helpful. They use a lot of almond flour and I'm allergic to nuts so she helped me find things I could have. Such a WONDERFUL find! read more

Everything about Nanna's was excellent. We went for dinner and to peruse the baked goods. I had the French toast and French fries and it was all glorious! My wife got chicken quesadillas and it was enough for two meals. I had half of one and it, too, was glorious. We also bought a loaf of banana pecan bread, a Swiss roll cake, and a maple bacon cake. They were all excellent. This is a must-try place for Celiac patients and anyone else with a gluten intolerance. It's the first time I've had real French toast and French fries in eight years and I wish I lived closer. read more

We stopped in for lunch. I had the Turkey Bacon melt on sourdough bread. This sandwich was delicious and very satisfying. MY husband had the bacon Cesar salad Again very healthy portion loaded with bacon. Service was perfect. We didn't have a long wait for the food. When my family and I stepped in the restaurant we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. We had two kids in our party and were excited to see a kids play kitchen by the entrance. There's also a general dining room to the right of the entrance The host shared that this is a farm-to-table restaurant. There is also a "farmers market" area in the back that has a selection of meats and preserved foods like jams and pickles! We placed our orders, which came out quickly! The grilled chicken sandwich is tasty and I enjoyed the fresh ingredients of tomato, lettuce, and onion I'm surprised to see there was no Yelp listing for Nanna's Café and Bread Co. It recently opened, and I learned this business is open Friday-Sunday, and shares a space with other businesses that are open throughout the week. This is a nice bakery that sells freshly baked gluten-free items and also has an array of lunch/dinner dishes! read more

Me and my boyfriend found this place a little bit ago, I've been gluten free for about 10 months now. This place is absolutely amazing, the waiter was so friendly and sweet and checked up on us a bunch. The food was delicious! I can tell that the staff is very family oriented. I can't believe it's gluten free! We accidentally found Nanna's while we were in Rapid City and I have found my new favorite restaurant. As someone with Celiac Disease it is challenging finding safe places to eat. Not only is the kitchen dedicated gluten-free, the food is DELICIOUS! My hubby has no issues with gluten, and he loved the bread. We ended up taking home a loaf of the sourdough and honey white (and are going back this weekend for more!) As amazing as the food is, the service and ambiance are equally incredible. We were greeted by the one of the owners who chatted with us and shared his and his wife's story on how they ended up in South Dakota (my hubby and I are also transplants) as well as their vision of the business. You can tell that this is truly a labor of love for the owners. Bonus, we got to meet their kids! I highly recommend this restaurant (and the bakery) not just to my Celiac buds out there, but anyone who is looking for a great, family-friendly place to eat! I'm gluten free and thought I would love this place. The bread was not good at all, literally had to gnaw on it to eat it, it was so tough. Service was really bad. We didn't have anything to drink when we got our food. And it took a really long time to get the food. I couldn't get ketchup, so I took one off of another empty table. The waiter a few minutes later walked up and just took it away and gave it to another table. Burger was raw twice. Waiter never apologized, just said that it has never happened before.
