A mixed bag of fried chicken…read more My husband is a dirty fried chicken fiend, and that is the only reason this is being reviewed! The menu is not that comprehensive, and often there are things that are unavailable. Stick with chicken and chips, and you'll be ok. Sometimes the fried chicken has been passable and the coating tasty, but more often than not it is either over cooked and chewy or underdone and pale. Saying that, it is cheap and doesn't skimp on the portions. All in all, if we really want dirty fried chicken there are other chain places that are much better.

There were at least 7 or 8 kinds of fish on the menu, many of which I couldn't even identify. I go the haddock special and it was good. The special was suppose to be a small, but they were out, so they gave me the medium, which seemed huge. The large would cover the plate. The hand made tarter sauce was awesome and they give you enough for two people in one order. They have wifi, but you need to ask for the password.

They offered thighs chunks and breasts. I ordered the breasts. They came out super piping hot in a few minutes and they call your number to pick up. I would prefer a table to sit out but that's not the way Chinatown rolls. No matter what time you walk past this place there's always a line. Give it a go.

I know this is the ubiquitous high street chain Pizza Express I am writing about here - am I really…read morereviewing this? It's not really a thrilling recommendation for you all. You know what you are getting and you can't usually go wrong with a Pizza E. I guess it's the chain equivalent of home cooking cravings. My staple is the Romana Padana aka the Padana goat cheese pizza on a thinner Romana base for me. If I am feeling particularly virtuous it was the salad nicoise, only they've taken tuna completely off the menu - come back little fish, I miss you, are you not sustainable anymore? Not all Pizza Express are created equal, some are pokey and tiny. Others have appalling service. That's why I ordinarily end up in the St John's Wood branch for a cheapo dinner with my family. The location works for us and it's a good size. There's a light airy conservatory area you can sit in, and there are also tables outside for al fresco dining. Very occasionally they also have live music. Don't forget to go to the offers website to print a discount voucher or show the promotional code on your smart phone. The 2 for 1s they offer moved this chain out of my "Snore. dull dull dull, lets try something new" compartment of my brain that it presided in before the credit crunch - to the "Can't resist a bargain" bit. Perhaps this will devalue there brand in the long run. I am not sure whether I could ever pay full price for a Pizza Express again. The dinner will sometimes end up in humiliating confusion with the L family trying to calculate which offer voucher is the best value. Oh the choices - 2 for 1, Orange Wednesday, set menu? The waiter's almost upon us, which one? Which one?.. . The staff are usually courteous to us despite all this kerfuffle, and even put up with my pizza topping substitutions and my mum's requests for her salad to have no potatoes, no dressing, no food. I admit sometimes the staff get confused by our hectic family demands. Last night I think our waiter accidentally gave us free coffees. Hurrah, that's my kind of mix up. However, it's pretty cool that Pizza Express let you get the discount codes over the phone. They also get props for having a smart phone app that lets you pay for your meal too, which might be very useful in a dash Last night I sat opposite Vanessa Feltz. She didn't use a voucher. Study the menu at the table, order and pay at the register (don't forget your table number!) and they will bring your food right to you. Choose your spiciness, from the mild through medium to extra hot. I warn you, even the medium is pretty spicy! Unlike so many UK restaurants, the soda fountain allows you to refill your Coke products to your heart's content. This one even has my own favorite, soda water. It's like Coke, but without the syrup. Try it some time. They also have a soft-serve ice cream machine, but that's extra. There are also a few juices and bottled beers/ciders/wines available. Nando's is all about chicken and peri-peri chicken at that. Grilled, spiced and served in salads, as burgers or even just in 1/4 1/2 or whole chickens. A number of sides are available, including corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and my favorite, ratatouille. If you're not a carnivore, they have veggie options including a bean burger and a mushroom burger. And salads.

The chicken was absolutely next-level -- juicy, packed with flavour, and grilled to perfection. I finally understand the hype around peri-peri! The sides were just as good, especially the spicy rice. But what truly made the experience unforgettable were Jay and Shrenik. They were phenomenal -- friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had the best first experience possible. They walked us through the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked in just the right amount. You don't often get service like that, especially at a casual spot. I came in just looking for a quick bite, and left a full-on fan. Huge thanks to Jay and Shrenik for making my first Nando's visit so special -- I'll definitely be back!

I liked that it came with a peri peri drizzle for it. We ordered 1/4 chicken with chips and corn and the boneless chicken thighs with garlic bread and spicy rice (note: not spicy). The peri peri chicken was delicious--it was juicy and full of flavor! But, none of their famous sauces were particularly hot, which was a bit disappointing if you're looking for a serious spice kick. At one point we had six or seven of their sauces on our table because I tried combining different ones to make a spicy, or even appetizing one but none were good, which is a let down. The sauces are more on the tangy side. Garlic and Extra Hot were okay. Lemon & Herb is honestly terrible. Conveniently located across from King's Cross Station, the restaurant has a large layout spread over two floors. The prices seemed fair for the portions (especially in London). The chicken was juicy and tasty. The fries (chips) were good as well, better than several other fish and chips places. Minus one star for the incredibly long wait time (over 30 minutes) even though there were not very many diners nor customers waiting on takeout.
