Great place to relish Halwa poori and Karachi style breakfast…read more The owner here is a warm persona and greets with a smile Makes it a point to ask if the food tasted great Yes it delicious The staff are polite and dutiful too Breakfast time Poori is undoubtedly my favorite breakfast And u can see me gorging upon poori bhaji, poori chole and halwa any time of the day. Halwa Poori chole is a famous breakfast combo which is so filling and nothing can be packed with nutrients in the morning than this breakfast. Halwa Poori Chole combination is quite a popular one and is linked with a ritual in INDIA - Kanjak! Kanjak is celebrated either on the eighth or ninth day of Navratri Kanjak used to be, and to a certain extent still is, one of many favorite festivals. Kids wake up to the sweet smel of hot halwa and fluffy pooris along with dry masala chanaa made in many households Today - tried to explore yet another place in London - famous for its Karachi fare and they USP is Halwa poori chole. Decided to relish this sinful combo and without a doubt it is delicious. The best part about Halwa poori combo - Suji halwa is just done right not too sweet has a dash of ghee and then the chickpeas (kabuli chanaa) curry is mild on spice quo but is melt in mouth one. The aloo sabzi is an added plus. Halwa Poori House - London offers various delicacies like - Halwapoori combos, irani chai, Kunna paya, lamb nihari and Haleem. Will be back soon

New door? Great! Nothing else has changed thought…read more Walked in and the music was blaring. We were quickly shown a table; the place was pretty much empty apart from a group of noisy youths; probably friends or family of the waiters because they (the waiters) were milling around them - didn't see them pay either. The table was obviously not wiped; no problem there - just did it myself. Drinks? Yes please; a large bottle of sparkling water. No sparkling water? OK then, a large bottle of still water please? No large still water either? Bring 1 small still water them please and glasses with ice. Here he comes with 2 bottles of still water and 1, yes one ice cube in each glass. By now I'm bored so I look up to the ceiling. 18, yes eighteen light bulbs out. Oh, and that area where the old entrance was, just a big old hole and some loose wire hanging out. Part of the new decor? There also seem to be a toilet leak from the flat above; yellow salty looking stains in their way to form stalactites staring blatantly at me. Apart from the dirt on the table there's so many scratches and damage to the table tops. All you need is a bit of sandpaper and varnish mate. Have some pride in your place. Meal was OK. Just OK. Let's pay and get out of here; the CC machine is out of order. Typical. So I wonder if that's why the youths didn't pay. So now we have to go to the bank 2 blocks away to get cash but only if one of us stay here so that we 100% come back to pay. Apart from being disgustingly dirty, this place has no clue of how a restaurant should be run and the franchise should retract from the owner which is probably the same guy who owns filthy Mirch Masala across the road. Note to the owner; a new door does not polish a turd Habibi. In another note; Steakout fits perfectly into Norbury - a third world establishment which wormed its way into a world class city.

Things did get better as our starters were lovely. We had the breaded prawns and chicken strips. For our main, we ordered the rump steak with a mushroom sauce, vegetables and potato wedges. The waiter gave us one portion of potato wedges even though we ordered two...he never came to our table to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything else. We were very disapointed with the cleanliness, the food and the service. I would not recomend this to anyone.

TL;DR Delicious, and very accomodating!…read more I went for my work's Christmas do. Food was from a set menu and waiters gave us several carafes of water, which were constantly refilled. There were also jugs of coke and lemonade which they would walk around and pour for us. All this was free, but we had to pay for alcohol. A few tried to set individual tabs for themselves However, there were roughly 20 of us and 8 individuals wanting individual tabs. That would have been a headache for the staff, so we all ended up paying for each drink of our own as we ordered it (Seemed fair to me). Heads up if you don't drink: They do a big enough range of mocktails for them to be listed on a page! They sounded good and I want to try one next time. We only had a set menu but it was all delicious (And even the stuff I personally wasn't keen on was good quality)! There was a good range of vegetarian and meaty stuff and it was all surprisingly filling. Also, I got to try some new stuff. One of the colleagues I sat next to is pregnant. She gave the food a good go, but a lot of it was too spicy for her although she said how lovely it all was. The waiter asked if she wanted some milk or yoghurt, and brought out poppadoms and mixed-veg bhajis for her ( as well as a big bowl of yoghurt) and gave her ice cream instead of the dessert we were given. She even asked for his name and a business card so she could recommend the place to her friends and family. The service was very attentive and kind. I had a Kingfisher (£3-4)and a margarita (£7). Good value for booze, I think. All in all, I'd happily suggest this place for a group do! Here's the set menu we had (In no real order and possibly excluding stuff I forgot about): Starter: Poppdoms with mango chutney; soy sauce with garlic and ginger; minty yoghurty stuff and a spicy thing. Chicken tikka (Possibly my favourite thing) Strips of some chunky fibrous vegetable in a mildly spicy coating (I believe it was potato) Firm paneer (A bit like tofu) in a sticky sweet coating with peppers Little poppadoms with chickpeas, tiny sprinkles of what looked like noodles and yoghurt and minty-yoghurty stuff and sweet sauce of some kind. They were an odd mixture of sweet and spicy. I found those a challenge to my tastebuds but they were well-made and well-presented Lamb rolls Plain naan White rice Coronas and Buds that came from nowhere (I discovered I'm not keen on Bud!) Veg manchuria A chicken curry A curry in a spicy green sauce Limoncello shots with a lime in (Which I thought were tequila shots) n An Asian dessert with a thin, sweet yellow custard and little balls that had the texture of soggy sponge but might have been paneer. I personally didn't like that but it was something new Oh, and the interior is very pretty! Be aware that it can get quite noisy, however.

Over 70 Nandos restaurants are listed on Yelp in and around the London area alone. The chain has blossomed thanks to a simple formula and fixed menu with easy cooking, limited staff service required and pitching itself as slightly more upmarket than regular fast food joints but keeping prices relatively low for a meal out. The main attraction is the chicken, which is offered at 4 'heat settings', ranging from no heat at all lemon and herb all the way to 'don't be stupid'. Being from Malaysia, I am used to chilli heat in my food and even the 2 chilli setting was making my eyes water. I have a new respect for the Portugese ability to eat hot food after visiting Nandos and getting a flavour of their peri peri sauce here. There are a few starters on the menu. Main courses are built around the chicken - pieces, burgers, liver with a choice of sides, that are generally filling but nothing special. The sweetcorn is disappointing and often undercooked to point of being unpleasant to chew through. The desserts look pre-made at a central site. You grab a table, note the number of the table and order at the till. The food then delivered to the table. Cutlery, serviettes and sauces are all self-service as are the soda drinks if you opt for those. I'm only awarding 3 stars as I find the chicken pieces not very generous in size, the sides and desserts being disappointing and the fact that my feet usually take me to the KFC nearby instead.

My brother recommended getting quite a few of the sharing meze plates and then a main to share between two people, so we did exactly that. My first visit was better (they had sliced mango then), but the second visit was good enough to warrant a third in the near future. Brazilian rodizio is--hands down--my favourite food, taking me to the pinnacle of meat-eating nirvana. I have been to more churrascaria joints than I can count on all my fingers and toes, carving and gnawing my way across the US and South America in pursuit of the perfect Picanha. Did I find it at Nabrasa? No, if I am honest. It wasn't perfect, but it was quite good--and impossible to find elsewhere as a halal option. Before I get into my experience here, I want to clarify something for anyone with complaints about the salt content. Salt and garlic are virtually the only ingredients in true rodizio seasoning. Not just salt, but coarse ROCK salt, encrusted across the meat and only lightly undusted with the sweep of a hand before putting the meat over coals. It is also blanketed in fat to keep the meat from drying out. This is where the halal factor sort of precariously balances on its knife tip. Nabrasa does a very good job of attempting to circumvent dryness and proportion the sodium against meat that is very hard to find in halal form, let alone graded for rodizio (and without the traditional method of draping fatty pork over cuts to keep them succulent). For this, I applaud them. Here's my breakdown: The good: The chicken, sausage, and Picanha (ask for the fatty bits) are amazing. In general, the beef dishes are winners, and the rodizio pineapple is perfect. From the salad bar: the olives, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes are excellent. The not-so-good: The lamb is pretty heavy in the dry zone and sometimes it is evident that meat has been circulating and reheated multiple times. I stick with the beef and sausage, but my husband who doesn't eat either wasn't impressed with the lamb. Also, despite a heavy list of meats offered on the paper placemat, several weren't in circulation either time I visited. The bad: The removal of mango from the salad selection shouldn't have happened. There has to be a cool, fresh option to offset the sodium. If mango is too expensive for a buffet, at least put out some decent sliced oranges--anything. The mocktails are wildly overpriced. And lastly, have a Brazilian dipping sauce! Nabrasa is the first rodizio I have ever been to without a basic chimichuri sauce, which is, frankly, a staple and an absolute shame (tsk, tsk). As a halal venue I give Nabrassa 4 stars. In reality, if it was truly up against its non-halal counterparts, it would be in the 2.5 star range. But it is halal, so four stars it gets.

Food is amazing if you love meat. All you can eat. Do not go…read morethere if you think you like brazilian food but you do not have any idea what a rodizio is!

This has been reflected in Wimbledon when the restaurant openings continue apace with Crepe Affaire, Chichimanga and Oki opening their doors in the last few months Oki is run by the same owners as my favourite local Japanese restaurant Noodle Foodle, located further down the Broadway. It's good to see them bring their brand of fresh, affordable Japanese good into the main shopping area of Wimbledon Broadway The menu is similar to that at Noodle Foodle, covering sushi, tempura, noodles and starters but with the addition of some Korean dishes. The prices are generally a pound or 2 more expensive than their counterparts at Noodle Foodle but still value for money My sister and were excited to try Oki out and we popped in for lunch after church. We were recognised by one of the regular staff at Noodle Foodle and we were the grateful recipients of one complimentary dish of fresh healthy wakame salad lent some nuttiness by sesame seeds We went with some old favourites. Dragon roll is topped with the richest, most unctuous unagi (eel) and is a mouthful of bliss. We also had some salmon sashimi and the plate had some lovely plump sweet moist salmon I like chicken karaage and it has been a notable absentee from Noodle Foodle's menu. So, it was a lovely surprise to see it available at Oki. Little cubes of thigh meat deep fried in well seasoned batter arrived, dressed with a piquant chilli sauce As Oki offered Korean food, we felt obliged to try some and ordered a beef dolsot bibimbap. This is a Korean all in one dish with rice, beef and vegetables served in a very hot stone bowl - you can hear the sizzle as it arrives at the table. A healthy dose of Korean chilli sauce and then you mix it all together and let it cook a little. It was a good bibimbap and I was scraping out every last bit of crackly, crispy rice from the bottom of the bowl This is a most worthy addition to the dining options in Wimbledon Broadway and they also do delivery. Definitely the best Japanese at this end of town. Oki is definitley okey dokey!
