Tech ridge lacks healthy food options. Glad Nancy sky garden opened up in the area. Been a fan of their location near lakeline.

I do remember the warm sweet plantains. I have become addicted to them. Also had the shredded chicken empanadas and oh, so, good. The other ladies ordered a wrap and an arepita which I didn't try because they ate theirs so fast.

I came back and waited about a minutes before I was acknowledged, I was sat and the waitress was attentive. I wanted to try the arepita appetizer which is normally served with shredded beef/pork or chicken on the side- to get a side of plantains instead of meat, it was going to add 3$ to the 14$ appetizer so I just opted to omit the meat all together and still had to pay the $14 ...which I don't feel is appropriate- people always wanna add money to sub a veggie for meat but never reduce the price when just removing the meat all together. Anyways, Ordered my food which was out promptly, the veggie bowl was delicious as always and the arepita appetizer (no meat) was good- reminded me of a fried potatoe cake, I used the arepitas as a vessel for my veggie bowl ! I brought the remainder of my bowl home where I bit into something very hard , once pulling it out of my mouth I discovered some beef snuck it's way into my dish- disappointing forsure but it is the first time out of about 10 times this has happened here. Prices have gone up over the last few years my veggie bowl was 18$.

We did not make reservations, I'd advise you to do it. However it was worth the 40 minute wait. The restaurant is very cozy with low lights. Great for a date or dinner party. We skipped the appetizer since we were running late but we will try one the next time. They bring you large flakey rolls and seasoned butter. Hubby had the catfish ponchatrain with red beans and rice and carrots. I had the beef and shrimp pasta with a brandy cream sauce. The food was so good! Our server Brooke was great. She made sure that we had everything we needed and our experience was good. Hubby ended the meal by getting the blueberry cheesecake and key lime pie to go. However, as we waited, another customer told us that the bread pudding was excellent. Then another customer told us that the chocolate cheesecake would give the bread pudding a run for its money. But as we sat and watched, several tables had the blueberry cheesecake brought to them to go. So I'd say leave room for desert!

We tried to go to happy hour with my partner's parents, but that was only available in the bar area. Given they have some health problems to consider, we could not move over and hover over teeny tables to have dinner so had to handle full price. At full price, I'd give it a solid 3.5. Bumped to a 4 because this is hard to find around here. We got: - shrimp yoli (if you only order one dish, get one with this SAUCE. It's to die for. The shrimp had too much seasoning that it was a little choke worthy and I NEVER complain about flavor. Just lighten up a little!) - escargot (the butter was broken.. so it was kinda rough) -catfish gumbo (solid portion) -redfish add lump crab (while we enjoyed this, it was pricy for what it was) -shrimp and crawfish pasta (good) -orange crème brûlée (light.. not my fav crème brûlée ever but fun to try) - chocolate cake brownie with ice cream

The menu isn't huge, but honestly that's usually a good sign -- focus on doing a smaller menu really well instead of serving 94 mediocre things and a sad waffle. I ordered the Bad Ass Bacon & Eggs plate. It came with thick-cut bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown casserole, wheat toast, and smoked salsa. Bacon - 9/10 This wasn't your average thin breakfast bacon. Thick-cut, almost pork belly style, with killer flavor and very meaty. Eggs - 9/10 Cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Simple, but done right. Hash Brown Casserole - 8/10 Different than what I expected, but in a good way. Unique flavor and a great addition to the plate. Salsa - 7/10 Very homemade style salsa with a smoky flavor. Different, but really good. Atmosphere - 9/10 Loved the vibe. Cozy atmosphere, great music, and just an overall comfortable place to sit and enjoy breakfast. If this place was closer to home, I'd eat here often. Service - 10/10 Excellent service. Christy H. was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time. Overall - 9/10 Definitely a must-try breakfast spot in Austin. They currently have four locations, and after eating here, it's easy to see why.

However the great pitmaster, John Brotherton, who made Brotherton's Black Iron Barbecue a legendary place passed away a year ago. He was only 49. His death was sudden and shocking. Net of being a great cook, he apparently was also a great human being. He was much beloved in the Pflugerville community. When a master chef dies, It is usually very hard to his or her restaurant to recover. Brotherton's has taken a serious serious loss. * * * 1) The brisket that was once exceptionally tasty now does not taste like much. 2) Ribs that were highly regarded are now nothing special. 3) I can't say whether the pitmaster was responsible for the sides. However the tater tot casserole has become unpleasant. The beans don't have anything to them. * * * Fortunately I was with charming and absolutely delightful company. So the conversation over the table sparkled. The living carry on many of the good things of life. Those good things take more forms than just the food we put in our mouths. * * * That said, Brotherton's is a serious reminder that death comes to us all. When we die, many of the good things we created die with us.

The sugar options were only 100%, 50% or 0% so I got 50%. I found it to be a little bit too unsweet so I wish there was a 70% option. The Boba pearls I felt could be more chewy, but the drink had good flavor. We ordered from a kiosk, so the staff didn't really greet or interact with us and I feel that could've been improved. I'll probably come again to try other drinks since it's close to me.

Bold that or something (not just us either, other ppl did the same thing but just walked out again) We ended up just ordering and the boba itself was just okay. The service was really odd. I was kind of excited because it seemed to be pretty authentic boba, but after looking at the menu and asking questions I realized it was just a facade. The swirl milks are just strawberry milk. The boba is also just so so. When I asked if I could have my drink hot, the cashier replied with "yes the boba is in a warmer". I didn't have the energy to explain so I just accepted it. However on the upside the space is pretty nice to study. They were so empty the entire time I was there. There wasn't a single table that was occupied for the 4+ hours I was there.
