I grew up going to Nancy Kitchen with my Grandma, and I remembered the food always being satisfying and comforting. When I moved back to the area, I was excited to see they now offer delivery through a popular service app. Working nights, it's hard to find breakfast around lunchtime, and I was even happier to see Nancy Kitchen offered breakfast late. However, that all changed after ordering breakfast several times, specifically waffles, Nancy Kitchen decided to put a time limit as to how late I can order waffles. It's important to note none of the other breakfast items have "time limit" so its confusing as to why they did it for waffles only, which also happened to be my most frequently ordered item. So I decided to stop ordering from there completely. Lost a longtime customer. read more

We were there visiting a friend the food was not well cook, the portion was way too small for the price . I understand prices are high , but sorry I believed McDonalds has better coffee and egg sandwiches. They clean with towels that leave a weird smell on the table and it was not a pleasant smell. I'm sorry, but my wife and I were hoping for a delicious and unique breakfast, but we were served food that was so was bland and unremarkable that we regretted giving up the calories on Sunday morning. My wife ordered apple cinnamon pancakes with eggs over-easy and got canned syrup poured over the cakes with hard, scrambled eggs. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich that tasted like it was right out of the can and thinly layered inside three pieces of toast (and a couple pieces of bacon). There was absolutely nothing redeeming about that food (or the portions). I'm sorry, Nancy's Kitchen. With all the competing restaurants, you've got to do better. Offer food that has some unique quality, and I'm not talking about gourmet or bistro. But if you are going to highlight homecooked food, make it so tasty and distinctive that people will remember their meal -- and not regret it. read more

It wasn't my choice to come here, but I ended up at Nancy's nonetheless. It was totally full on Sunday at noon and clearly drawing a lot of business from the Leisure World crowd. Nancy's serves diner style food, and the decor is solidly 1980s...perhaps right up the alley of its target clientele. The menu includes breakfast fare, sandwiches, burgers, etc. There were a few specials written out on a dry erase board at the back of the restaurant, although I didn't notice it until the meal was over. I ordered a custom omelet with cheese (ended up being cheddar, I wasn't offered a choice), spinach, onion, and bacon. I think it was made with two eggs (the menu didn't say). This was really pretty good, particularly the bacon which was plentiful and crispy! It came with home fries that were sort of gross--orange-ish but with no particular flavor/spice at all and pretty mushy. It also came with some toast that was low quality bread with my choice of Smuckers strawberry or marmalade. The total was about $40 (before tip) for 4 people, which isn't bad, but the food was definitely nothing special. I wouldn't go back. The service was pretty good (one in our group was a regular, and the waiter knew his order!). I also appreciated how they interacted with our family member with special needs, treating her the same as anyone else. read more

Decent diner food, but you can find equally good, similar food, at many diner chains, like Denny's or IHOP. The place overcharges consistently, and many of the prices are not on the menu. They added $2.50 to my burger for added cheese. The really sad thing is that they are surrounded by better, cheaper restaurants, yet the place was packed. It doesn't help that they have Pepsi as their fountain drink supplier. read more

OK so they were a little bit overpriced like some other people said also their food had new flavor at all if I wasn't so hungry I would have complained but I'm too lazy to make that. So, out of convenience I would tell somebody they should go there. Also the seating yourself service I really didn't like. it's so small in there I was sitting next to people who I didn't even know it was awkward. We had breakfast here for the first time today. It's a small restaurant in a strip center near Leisure World. Menu is pretty typical diner breakfast items. Everyone enjoyed the food but it wasn't amazing. Just typical of what you would expect. We would certainly go back again. The wait staff was very attentive to everyone who was dining. read more

Beware, don't waste your money. The food is subpar and the service is beyond poor. This restaurant serves basically an older senior crowd and the waiters appear to think it is amusing to demean their clientele. They spoke with rudeness and disrespect to a few of their customers during my meal there, which made my dining experience unpleasant. Better restaurants and good service are a few miles down the road in either direction. Picking up prepared food at the Giant supermarket in this shopping center is a superior choice. read more

What you'll get with this place is basic continental breakfast that is much more tailored to seniors being that it's in leisure world. Don't expect to receive gluten free, lactose free, almond milk all that trendy options cause the answer will be no! Lol!! Straight up eat and leave type place. It gets 3 stars not because of the service, service was great and tentative, the Indian fella that worked there was pleasantly sarcastic. it was mostly the food and the presentation. I like this place. Not saying this is better than Silver Diner or other diners in the area. My fiancé described it as cafeteria style food. Not amazing but not bad. I rate them 4 stars because there's more to an eating experience than the food. The staff is nice. The customers are nice. This is by Leisure World so mostly older crowd. The overall vibe is comforting and the French toast was great. Nice, local place for when you don't feel like driving far. read more

The salmon wrap was greasy and gross. Salmon was dry and flaky and crumbly. Not recognizable as fish. French fries were tasteless, straight out of the freezer. Lastly the waiters were very polite, but extremely over worked and the result was absolutely horrible service. Prices were fairly expensive as well, $12 for the tuna wrap with french fries. I would go to Qdoba or chipotle any day over this place read more

We began coming here years ago when our mom lived in nearby Leisure World. Now that she has moved on, we still come to Nancy's for the great milkshakes and tasty sandwiches. One of my favorites for weekend breakfast or lunch. Very cute and very pink /80s decor- but I like it! The restaurant is clean, servers and friendly, and the food is good quality, and very inexpensive. They have good specials, be sure to check the board. I recently upgraded this restaurant from four stars to five stars. It appears that I may have been too impressed by the outstanding server that morning. I just went back the other morning and that server was not working. Probably his day off. Service was disappointing. And twice I had to ask the server to fill my empty coffee cup. I just reviewed my four credit card receipts from Nancy's kitchen. I was not happy with what I found: one was $13.78, one was $12.61 and the other two were $12.18. I ordered the same breakfast each time, an egg white cheese omelet with tomatoes and onions along with coffee. So, I am going back to 4 stars. Food is still good. Second visit in a couple of years. Met with some friends here. The reuben was well-grilled, but the meat itself was gristly. The sandwich fell apart in my hands. I had to eat some of it with a knife and fork. No malt vinegar for the fries. Catsup only. As others have noted, it's a senior citizens type of place. Warning: Do not eat here. I saw the bad reviews and thought there was no way it could really be that bad, but it actually was worse. I had an omelette with bacon and sausage, and coffee. The omelette was runny, and the bacon was RANCID. I actually spit it into my napkin. The sausage was a microwaved frozen patty that was soggy and cold in the middle. Even the coffee was terrible! It tasted like it was brewed in a construction worker's work boot. (How do you screw up coffee?) I usually appreciate breakfast food even if it's mediocre, but this "food" was terrible. They couldn't serve this in prisons because it would be inhumane. I have had better breakfasts in Army chow tents during field exercises. I am surprised the health department hasn't shut this place down. You are better off going to 7-11 and getting one of those hotdogs that sit on that roaster wheel all day. read more

Watery coffee with the waiters heavy cologne all over the cup. Sour home fries that smelled like a three day old baby's bottle and elevator music. Plastic flowers and general sadness in the ambiance. Overpriced and bland food with very low standards for quality control. When I told the waiter to smell the home fries he said "I had them this morning" I said "better find the Pepto then". I rather spend my $ somewhere else at $12 for an omelette and bad coffee I rather eat at Macdonald's which serves better coffee. I saw the reviews before I went but thought things really couldn't be that bad. But they are. The service was fine but the atmosphere was dated and stodgy and not very clean and the food was awful. I have never had home fries that were so bland and the pancakes were one step up from cardboard. And they weren't cheap either. Unless you don't have any tastebuds left, avoid this place. I noted the most recent review by Kal and decided to give this place a try for breakfast. Glad I did. Place is cozy. All booths cept 2 were filled and despite the full house, the atmosphere was calm, relaxing, intimate, clean and felt like a regular hangout for the older neighborhood crowd. Several servers were attentive but not obtrusive and kept the coffee flowing. Specials were posted on the white board. I ordered one - the ham sausage tomatoe et al omelet w/ home fries and rye toast. It arrived quickly, was a good sized portion with no skimping of ingredients in the omelet. I didn't care for the home fries, preferring them to be more crispy and seasoned but I did not request that. While there was nothing I could point to as being outstanding, this was a solid but pretty basic no frills breakfast experience for me. I would come again. read more

I tried Nancy's Kitchen for dinner. There were maybe two or three other people in the restaurant and yes it does have a weird smell. In addition, it is not very inviting, dark and a lot of pink. I ordered the chicken parmesan. What a rip off. Honestly, it consisted of two chicken patties...not even real chicken and overcooked pasta with some marinara on it. To me, that isn't even really cooking. Heat it up and serve it. read more

This place has the best bacon and Swiss cheese omelette. I get the home fries with onions and they grill them to perfection. I've been coming here with my mom for almost 20 years and I have always left with a big smile. The staff is so friendly and they make each customer feel extra important. I always stick with the breakfast but they have lunch and dinner. If you feel like taking a pie home with you then Nancy's kitchen is the place to go. They always have a long dessert menu full of specials like cherry pie, blackberry pie, and all sorts of other goodies. read more
