I haven't tried the momo here, and I'm a little afraid to after trying the chow mein which I unfortunately can't recommend. It was a bit bland. It would be a good choice for kids who are picky eaters though and just want some noodles. I've seen the momo and it looks great. People seem to like it a lot too, so I'll order that next time I'm willing to try something new. I've always loved momo, just haven't had it from this particular cart and the last several times I tried a new food cart, it didn't go very well.. But the staff are super nice so I want to support their business if possible. Just a heads up if you have a sensitive stomach or are sensitive to fat content - if you get their chai tea with coconut milk, they don't use the kind meant for drinking like you get from a cafe (the kind of coconut milk in a carton). They use canned coconut milk, like you use for cooking, curries, etc., This does make for a creamier and more coconutty drink, but it overwhelmed the chai flavour and gave me a stomach ache most likely due to the high fat content. I'm just not used to drinking 24g fat in one sitting (believe me if I could, I would!). If I'd known they were using canned coconut milk for the dairy alternative, I don't think I would have ordered it. I'm sure the regular chai tea with dairy milk is delicious though, as what I could get out of the spice flavour seemed tasty. I'll update my review next time. read more

We ordered the pan-fried momo dumplings here and were amazed at how good it was. It did take a while to get as they had to steam it first and then pan fry it afterward. The flavors of the dumplings were great, and it was juicy inside. read more

I wanted to try this food truck. The chicken was still cold! Even my dish was served with the heated wrappers that was drying out and uncooked on the edges. The chicken tasted very dry as well. The counter person was a bit annoying and it took longer to make compared to the rest of my family who dined at the same time. I ordered the roti wrap and they said the wrap ran out. So first they said they can refund me before even suggesting another dish. Bad for business. We then compromised with the same dish not using smaller wrappers. I expressed that I wanted a good experience for first time at this cart. I can't believe how good the reviews are knowing how bad my food and service turned out. Today my sister and I went to the Heist and ate a delicious lunch She had the Vegan Bowl and I ordered the Roti Wrap (with chicken curry) They were simply delicious It brings back memories of when I was in Nepal years ago I remember to this day in particular the MoMos, the fried rice and the chow mein I told the young woman of my experience in Kathmandu but failed to mention I was also in Patan and Bhaktapur where the food was equally delicious. I got to try Binu's food today. I had the half-n-half momo dumplings (half veggie, half chicken). They were the best, and unmistakably homemade, dumplings that I've ever had. She even offered to sear them a little for me, which I love, even if it increased the cook time a bit. The flavors of both were fantastic, and the portion was generous enough (I was concerned that I'd need rice, but it was enough). I may have preferred the chicken just a little bit. They come with chili oil (delish!), tropical veggie slaw (citrusy and really delish!), and the momo sauce (good, but could have been a little more savory--not quite at the level of the dumplings). Binu was very friendly and clearly cares a lot about her business, which will surely endure! read more

We worked our way through most of the menu in just a couple of days We have tried the coconut soup add prawns, Chicken Choila, Momo, Nepali Thali and the vegetable chow main..am I missing anything ? Really hard to pick a favorite ..but would have to go with the Chicken Choila..the tropical salad it's topped with? My partner will write a better review, but my mouth is in love right now, so I have to say something. I've never had al dente chickpeas (gonzola in choila) before. They're amazing. Ghee rice is so good and cooked perfectly. Everything is exceptional, but made only better with momo sauce. It's liquid umami. Best chai I've ever had. Boy- it's not every day you come across a place this great. I live and work in the local area... I own a foodservice operation nearby- and I honestly can't say enough good things about my dinner. We tried about all of the entrees... the Momo and Chicken Choila we just beyond words. Fresh ingredients- a real feel of authentic food you may not have ever tried. The balance between the fresh and the savory was just done fantastically. I usually don't get excited about food and I rarely write reviews, but this food really lit up my taste buds! I was less than halfway through my first meal from here when I felt compelled to spread the word about this place. I was working in the area for the week, randomly found Namu Buddha when looking for a place for dinner one night, and ordered the Chicken Choila. Bam! I was hooked after a few bites. It's so good! I got it the next night (fantastic again). Night 3 was my last night working in the area. Of course I'd be ordering from Namu Buddha again. Do I dare try something else or go with what I knew I loved. I branched out and went with the Nepali Thali. Wow! Equally as delicious as the Chicken Choila and now I can't decide which I liked more. The chai tea is also super tasty. After trying a sample the first night, I ordered it the remaining nights. And what really seals the deal for me is how healthy each dish was. Good macronutrient ratios and fresh veggies/fruit. It's food I could eat often for the amazing taste and also feel good about eating. For those interested, my attempt at a detailed review of each dish is below: Chicken Choila (bowl): Base on bottom of the bowl is rice cooked with ghee (genius and delicious). The next layer has 3 components. 1st is chicken pieces; cooked in a flavorful sauce and with a nice texture (semi-firm/almost crispy on outside); 2nd is garbonzo beans cooked in another super tasty sauce; 3rd is a tropical salad (chopped cucumber/mango/onions), which is delish and provides excellent freshness and balance to each bite, when mixed with the other rich and flavorful components. On top is parsley, lime, and an incredible peanut sauce (I got the spicy version). Nepali Thali (food tray): Compartment 1: rice mixed w/ some chopped parsley and nice subtle flavor. 2: chicken pieces that fall apart in your mouth, cooked in a fantastic red curry. 3: Potato salad. I had no idea potato salad could taste so good! Best I've ever had. It might have been mixed in some kind of bean paste, not sure. 4: mixed veggies including spinach, onions and peppers. I can go on and on about how friendly the chef is at Namo Buddha but the real shinning star here is the food. Absolutely delicious meals prepared from scratch with attention focused on flavor. Everything here tastes like it was picked freshly from a garden. Even when I go for the Chicken Chow Mein it somehow feels like I'm eating healthy because of the quality of the ingredients. From the way she crumbles the ice into your iced chai so it doesn't ever taste watered down to the high quality ingredients she gets the best tastes out of and the spices you thought you knew woven into flavors you didn't know were possible! Food trucks don't make it high on my list as I like atmosphere and setting as well as the food. And for my first-and-likely-only trip here I was disappointed in the food as well. I ordered the Nepali Thali -- a combo plate that I order regularly at other places. The "lentil" soup was primarily kidney beans and could have been from the Mexican truck; the "naan" was a tortilla if I am not mistaken; the grilled vegetables were yellow-and-red peppers with onions also could have been from next door; the curry chicken serving was pretty small. Three crudite veggies included jicama, cuke, carrot. Then one has to sit outdoors on wooden benches with the wind blowing the dust around. Not for me. Maybe for some, however. read more

What a great find. We had never tried this cuisine and really enjoyed our meal. We had the dumplings and Choila. Both were delicious and full flavored.
