UPDATED OCT 10 -They are now holding our five websites that were somehow transferred to them without our knowledge or authority, and refuse to return the property proven to be ours. These are simply bad and dishonest people. They have been caught committing these crimes before. Name Cheap has stolen our property, both 5 Domains and those partially completed websites. They ARE NOT A U.S. COMPANY, using a fake Phoenix AZ address and have no phone number to call. When we have written and asked them to return our stolen property and to provide their registry, they ignore the request and lie more. Their response to our original posting regarding their attempted thievery is completely false. DO NOT TRUST NAME CHEAP! We attempted to purchase a rather obscure web domain from this company, as we felt it MAY relate to our other websites later on. We found it on Namecheap where they had it listed at $4.98. We attempted to buy it numerous times over an afternoon and the following morning. While it continued to be listed at $4.98, Name-Cheap continually blocked the purchase, providing a lame error message to contact their tech support. (We attempted the purchase using several forms of payment.) Then well into the second day of our attempts, they claimed the price had gone up to $500! Now any idiot could easily conclude, that either Name Cheap skates purchased the domain, realizing we were attempting to but it, OR they had someone associated with them but independent, buy the domain name so they could attempt to steal from us. There is no other conclusion, as the timeframe fits. And yet Name Cheap has been lying about these facts and attempting to cover up their incredibly CHEAP, GREEDY AND COMPLTELEY SHADY CONDUCT! Do not trust this company AT ALL. They should change their name to NAME CHEAT! UPDATE - SEPTEMBER 2024 - IN THEIR RESPONSE NAME CHEAP CLAIMS THE MIX-UP WAS DUE TO THE FORM OF PAYMENT USED. I know that some of these reviews are from legitimate businesses. What you should know is that these people have absolutely no idea of what is right and what is wrong and they don't care one whit about you. I created a yelp profile just to review this company. I reached out to Namecheap to report activity that violates their TOS on abusive content to animals. The content I reported was promotion of animal sexual abuse, they refused to do anything about and instead claimed that that this site discourages abuse.
