I have had my SUP and surfboard with Nalu Storage for 5-6 years now and it has been a great service to me being so convenient. The surboard lockers are located in a great location, next to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Its so close to the beach, about a 25 yard walk. Grab your board and go. The owner is great to work with and easy online payment system with no problems. In Nov 2019, my 9' 10" Naish SUP did get stolen from the racks and also my friends surfboard was stolen. I was obviously not happy about it but after doing some research, there are lots of thefts in Waikiki since Honolulu is the 7th largest city in the U.S. People, including me think that since its Waikiki and paradise, there are no crimes but there are. After getting over that part, I decided to post all over the internet and also contact local surf shops to see if anyone has seen my board. I got lucky, the owner of Star Beach boy shop in Waikiki off Koa Street(Behind the Hyatt) spotted my board and was able to get my paddle board back from some guy who said he found the board on the beach. With the help of the owner of Nalu Storage, he arranged to pick up my board and lock it back up in the racks and gave me a DockLocks for extra security. The owner of the Star beach boy shop did not have to go out of his way to get the board back to me but he did, so I really appreciate it and will be referring his rental business to all my friend. If you need a rental, please go to Star Beach boy's shop Unfortunately there is crime in paradise and I just want to let anyone who plans to put their surfboard or paddle board in a Waikiki surf locker to do the following: 1. DO NOT put your board with the fins up, especially paddle boards. The fin is what holds the board from being lifted up and out. 2. GET yourself a DOCK Locks, it attaches to your leach cup or your fin plate so it cant be easily removed. (The owner of Nalu Surboards has them at a discount) - I didn't do this and was kicking my self for not getting his lock. I have it now. read more

I used Nalu Storage during a five day stay in Waikiki. I hired a SUP from the Moku surf shop which was heaps cheaper than from the beach rentals and they were OK with me storing the board with Nalu. The storage cost $25 for a week which saved me taking the board back to Moku each day, plus it was right there at the beach in the walkway that leads from Kalakaua Ave to the beach next to the Outrigger On the Beach hotel. Getting the locker was simple via their website and then they emailed me the combination for the bottom MasterLock which locks the bottom chain and contains the key for the top chain lock. Finally! Nalu Storage started business just in time for my moving out of Waikiki. You can get as many lockers as you like (if available, obviously). Not like the county lockers. Keep your short, long and sup boards in one place and never check the surf again before you leave home. Just walk the 100 feet to the front of the Royal Hawaiian and check the surf from publics to threes and select the board for the day, nice to be able to swap out to mid-session too. Location is perfect with quick access to Queens, Canoes and Pops. Get validated parking and no more walking from the zoo, or wherever. Super easy to get, add and renew lockers. We have been storing 2 long boards in the Nalu Storage lockers next to the Cheesecake factory for about 2 years. The location is excellent! Right on Waikiki beach in the lane between the Cheesecake factory and the Outrigger hotel. Maurie manages the rental of the lockers and he is so professional and enthusiastic. One of the most prompt professional people I've ever worked with in Hawaii. He promptly returns phone calls and inquiries about the lockers. We got our locker set up the same day we bought our first board and realized it would not fit into the elevator of our apartment building! He even helped me get my husband's new board into the locker last minute as a surprise gift. The lockers rental price might seem like a splurge but when you realize how much more often you will get out surfing it is well worth the money we pay. We currently surf 3 to 4 days a week. These are the fess posted on the Nalu Storage web site. You also get a handful of validation passes for the garage in the Royal Hawaiian garage. The validation makes the parking $4 for about 2 hours of parking. Perfect for a fun surfing session.
