Fresh salad at the BWI airport! $15.99
Christine L.

I usually write my review after i finish eating but every bite has been so good that i stopped eating to write this. FRESH salad at the BWI airport (A concourse)! I made my own salad and every topping I chose (edamame, tomatoes, cucumbers, curry tofu, carrots, green scallions, beets, pumpkin seeds, and garbanzos were great. I chose basil vinaigrette for dressing on the side. The lone black worker managing this booth handled the workload with efficiency and calm. There were 4 of us ladies ready to order from him and he was direct to warn everyone that he was out of wraps and cash. We all knew what to do next: credit card purchase. Too bad the credit card option didn't have a tip option. He deserved it. Promote the dude.

Representing 2022 in alphabet series, N is for Nalley Fresh at BWI Airport. In January 2022, I traveled to Phoenix to meetup with my dad who was visiting. For lunch at BWI Airport, there's a big food court area with a lot of options, but mostly options I wasn't too enthusiastic about. I opted to go healthier and was familiar with Nalley Fresh as I had been to 3 locations in MD at that point. It's an assembly line of getting various ingredients to build your own salad, or you can select a specific type of salad. Salad was very good as always.

Harvest salad with buffalo chicken

I stopped by here earlier today by myself for a late lunch. This Nalley Fresh is located in the A/B concourse area of BWI and as such, there's not too much to say about it. It has a counter area where you can order and see all of the ingredients, like at most fast casual restaurants, and then there is shared seating all around. For lunch on this day I decided to go with the harvest salad and chose Buffalo chicken as my protein. Total price pre-tax was $13.60, which for an airport I didn't think was bad at all. Nalley Fresh describes the harvest salad as Mixed Greens, Carrots, Celery, Almonds, Croutons, Mandarin Oranges, Apples, Cranberries, Wheat Berries, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, and a Nalley Fresh Raspberry Vinaigrette. It ended up being quite good and I loved the different sweetness and tart flavors of the fruits combined with the pungent blue cheese and super tart vinaigrette. Then the chicken was good too. It was tender, a little bit spicy, and not overwhelming. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my salad here and loved how healthy it felt while also not breaking the bank.

Like their name says, FRESH!! Lots of bases to start and salad topping items with soooo many choices!!! And so many dressings as well. Friendly staff. Can eat in or take out.

I think it's more challenging to eat healthy at the airport, not impossible, though healthy options aren't usually the first thing you see. After walking from security B down the line of fast food chains, I was pleased to find a healthier option in Nalley Fresh. I got the harvest salad and then made everything orange by selecting Buffalo chicken as my protein. Fair option, though I should have stuck with the grilled chicken. The salad was a good portion with good toppings like craisins, almonds, and bleu cheese. The server was looking at her phone while I scanned the menu-which has very small font- but as soon as I made my way up to the counter she put it down and asked me what I'd like. Within a few minutes I had my food and was looking for a table.

I like Nalley Fresh and I've been to other locations but the one at the airport has the rudest employees. I simply asked what kind of protein do they have since it's not listed anywhere on the menu and server made a face when I asked a simple question. I can see you so not sure if she hates her job but if they don't have any protein listed on the menu, people will ask. This visit to Nalley Fresh was so-so. I asked for a sweet potato bowl and I got a sweet potato that was the size of a shallot. I expected a larger sweet potato. In addition, they were skimpy on the arugula. And my total was $13.25. Not really sure what I paid for and definitely came with a side of attitude. The service definitely needs to be worked on. And the cashier spent his time talking to his buddy rather than engaging with the customers. If I would have known I was getting bad service, I would have gone elsewhere.

Maybe my judgement is biased because I was expecting very heavily seasoned fried chicken with herbs and seasonings but what I got was not really seasoned any differently than any ol regular fried chicken. It was very very crispy but that was about it. I felt a bit disappointed. It was also served with just some unseasoned steamed rice and a pretty typical sweet sour sauce. My bf did enjoy his soup. He had no complaints at all. I would come back to try the pho maybe. The seafood pho looked good. Maybe when the weather isn't 100 degrees.

Unfortunately, the reality did not quite match those expectations. The restaurant is located in a somewhat rundown shopping plaza, and the dining area itself felt small and dated. There were boxes of supplies stored in the main dining room, which detracted from the overall atmosphere. The setup felt more like a typical takeout-oriented Chinese restaurant than a destination dining experience. Even the water station, which was self-service from an office-style water dispenser, felt unusual for a restaurant of this reputation. The restaurant is known for its hand-pulled noodles, which was one of the main reasons we visited. However, based on the overall presentation and environment, the experience did not fully convey the level of craftsmanship we had anticipated. As for the food, my husband ordered the chicken with wide noodles. Unfortunately, the dish was extremely oily, making the noodles difficult to pick up with chopsticks. I ordered the Jajang noodles, which were decent but lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. Overall, our visit was disappointing given the restaurant's strong reputation and positive reviews. While the food was acceptable, neither the quality nor the atmosphere met our expectations, and we would not choose to return.

We visited on a Tuesday, and since it wasn't very busy, the service was attentive and our food came out quickly. We took advantage of one of their daily specials. the Cumin Beef Stir-Fry was half off ($13). It ended up being my favorite dish. The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The Tibetan Diced Lamb also had great flavor with a nice balance of spices. The Sichuan Popcorn Chicken, however, wasn't what I expected. It wasn't the traditional Sichuan-style chicken I was hoping for and leaned more on the sweet side, which personally wasn't my favorite. The Flaming Roasted Lamb Leg had a delicious smoky flavor and came with a fun tableside presentation where it was set on fire. That said, the portion was on the smaller side for the price, and I was a little surprised to find what looked like French fries underneath the lamb. The restaurant has plenty of seating, and street parking was easy to find. They don't have a liquor license yet, so it's currently BYOB. There's a liquor store that's a three minute walk away from the restaurant. They also offer tea for $5 with free refills and soda for $2.50 with free refills. I also appreciated that they offer select dishes at half price on certain days of the week, so it's worth checking their specials before you visit. Overall, the food was flavorful, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the daily specials make this a great value. While not every dish was a hit for me, the cumin beef and Tibetan lamb were excellent.

I ordered delivery from Lao Sze Chuan a few months ago, but finally visited in person this past…read moreSaturday and had a very good meal. Lao Sze Chuan is a new-ish (open since January 2025) Sichuan restaurant that took over the space Busboys and Poets used to occupy. It's a huge space, but they did a great job renovating it, and it feels light and bright and modern - very comfortable. It's huge though - so I hope people know it's there and are ordering takeout/delivery or stopping by a for a meal in person! The service was very friendly and very fast, so it's a great spot for an in-person meal, too! Their menu is as large as the restaurant space, so there's something for everyone! They definitely have a lot of Sichuan dishes, but if you're not up for Sichuan, they have some other dishes that might fit the bill: dim sum (plenty of dumplings and buns), lo mein, fried rice, Peking duck, basil eggplant, Mongolian beef, and more... On Saturday at the restaurant, my husband and I shared a pot of white tea and a few dishes: crystal shrimp dumplings; pork soup dumplings; spicy tofu skin strips (shredded tofu skin tossed with Sichuan-style chili oil, peppercorns, and spices for a bold, numbing and spicy flavor); spicy and sour fish fillets (tender fish fillets simmered in a flavorful broth with pickled mustard greens, garlic, and Sichuan spices); a side of white rice for the fish; and red bean paste pumpkin cakes for dessert. When we ordered delivery in February, we shared: vegetable steamed dumplings; Yu-Shiang Eggplant Roll (tender eggplant braised and rolled in a traditional Sichuan Yu-Shiang sauce, offering a perfect balance of sweet, sour, savory, and spicy notes); crispy salty chicken (bite-sized chicken pieces deep-fried and seasoned with basil); salt & pepper pork chops (crispy fried pork chops tossed with onions and jalapeño peppers for a bold and savory flavor); and a side of white rice). I've enjoyed everything we've eaten (although I wouldn't recommend the crispy dishes for delivery for obvious reasons - I can't resist salt & pepper pork chops sometimes even though I know it doesn't travel the best), and I love how broad the menu is. I can't wait to return to try more of their dishes!
