The majority of their tables are outside under tents, making it a great option to view Lake Champlain over dinner and drinks. They also have bar seating and a mini game room for kids. Their drink menu had some beer on tap, beer in cans and bottles, wine, mixed drinks, frozen drinks, and mocktails. The food menu had a variety of apps, some salads, handhelds, and entrees. I ordered a beer and the fish tacos which came with two tacos and fries. They tasted great! We sat at the bar since the weather was so poor they didn't want to seat people outside (understandable since it was raining sideways earlier that day). Overall this is a place you come for the view and to enjoy beautiful weather. Food is pretty good and service was quick too. Parking is the only wonky thing since we came early in the season so the boats weren't in the water yet. read more

Not bad, not great. The space is awesome for Marina restaurant and bar large inside bar, decent outside tiki bar. Pretty extensive menu as well as an extensive microbrew, imports and standard bottled American beer. Bartender outside disappears constantly- getting supplies, bringing food to the bar, etc. etc. so there was a lot of waiting for drinks. It was pretty clear. He had very little help at a very busy bar. Don't they hire barbacks anymore? Food was pretty good- fish tacos and salads were decent. Ambiance is crushed because there was no music. Well the music was on but it was barely perceptible. Ever worse, whoever the genius was who set up the speakers at the tiki bar pointed the speakers directly into the bar rather than out to the people, so the IF the music was turned up to to an acceptable volume, my guess is the bartender wouldn't be able to interact with the customers. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Listen this is an outside marina bar and Grill., people are vacationing drinking partying, eating, trying to have a great time and there's barely any perceptible music playing. Great way to destroy the ambience. Any bar owner will tell you there's more to food and drinks in a restaurant in this place just made us not want to stay- so we didn't. We'll try again. read more

My waitress was awesome. The vibe great. The house wine excellent ( Mondavi). My clam chowder hot and tasty. so why the three stars? I asked for a roll or a piece of bread with my soup. Two slices of buttered sourdough were delivered no problem. When I got the bill, they charged me three dollars for each slice of bread. Really? REALLY. ??? how hard do you have to strive to piss off someone? A buck or two OK but three dollars each.? that's pretty insulting and totally unjustified. We stopped here on a Sunday night for dinner. The food was pretty good but the server either lost our debit card or gave it to another customer. This was after she presented us with the wrong bill so I am guessing that someone else has the card. So we had to go through the logistics of canceling the card which put a damper on our vacation. To make matters worse, they told us that they would comp our meal but when we checked online, we discovered that we had been charged for the meal after all! So all this left a very bad taste in our mouth and it was very disappointing that they didn't follow through on their promise to "make things right" and comp us. Got there under the wire just before noon -- seated in the shade outside. The attraction is the water, the boats, the seagulls! Not the food. Fried clams and fries arrived quickly and hot, but fairly tasteless once it cooled off. Ditto the calamari. But it was nice to be outside on deck in the lovely August sunshine. read more

This is a great venue with inside seating and a couple of decks overlooking the water and a marina with average food. We had Chowder Bowl and the Fish Tacos, both were very bland. Seasonal restaurant on Lake Champlain.... The location is the best part of the decor. I was greeted promptly, got a nice table on the deck, shaded with an umbrella. Vacationing up in the beautiful upstate region of NY and Vermont on Lake Champlain. Today we are eating at the Naked Turtle at the Marina. Unfortunately, being from NY, we are spoiled with great Calamari dishes. This calamari dish was very tasty but I was extremely disappointed with the size of the calamari, basically the size of a dime. Hmmm, its tough because it tasted great but not used to the size. Let's move onto the lunch dish... I ordered their version of a Cuban sandwich. It's not a true Cuban or even resembles one. However, it was a great pulled pork sandwich if that's what I wanted...lol Tacos looked great and the Mojitos were spot on. Our servery was great! read more

My wife has some dietary restrictions. She's vegan and gluten-free. In order for us to go out to eat, she literally spends hours online reviewing menus of different places that we think would be able to accommodate her diet. After reviewing their menu online, it looked like they would be able to to cater to her dietary needs. When ordering, my wife simply asked for the nachos with no cheese and if they can at some rice and beans on top for substance, since she wasn't getting any cheese or any kind of meat on top. The response we got was that it wasn't possible. For a place that advertises gluten-free options and the fact that they can substitute things like portobellos instead of meat, you'd think they'd be willing to sprinkle some rice and beans on some nacho chips. In the end, they did bring over a bowl of their veggie rice and beans but it took asking a few different ways until we got a response of "I'll try" The food tasted and looked great. For food quality, I would give 4 stars, drinks, 2 stars and service 0 stars. read more

Passing through Plattsburgh on business looking for a quick bite and nice view of the lake. Despite an overcast and rainy day the covered outdoor seating was great (with overhead heaters) and a beautiful view of the marina. The food was excellent. I had a cup of the seafood chowder (tomato based) was excellent and my guest had the large pickled beet salad. Although a number of options looked good the blackened salmon bowl caught my eye. It was very flavorful and delicious. Unfortunately we were both too full to consider any dessert. I will definitely return. read more

Amazing food! I read previous reviews and decided to go elsewhere but then at the last minute my family and I said let's go. We are so happy that we did. The food was amazing! The service we had from our waitress Elizabeth "Liz" was amazing and the outdoor backyard deck was amazing! I was so impressed by the presentation of the plates, the huge portions and the freshness of the food. We just celebrated my Grandfather's 86th Birthday and had to wait over 45 minutes to get a table. The food is okay, the scenery is lovely by the boats, but the service is sub par. Working as a waitress for over ten years, I should not have to wait an hour for my salad or fish tacos. The kitchen staff is understaffed or may not know how to cook- but the restaurant had too many empty tables. The management or lack there of- needs to change. The restaurant has such great potential for live music, bands playing, and more people inside the tiki lounge bar area, but does not have enough staff or a good manager to oversee it. Every year this has been a problem and nothing ever gets done- the hostess is kind but come on guys- get your s together! I wish this place put more effort into kitchen, wait, bartender staff- but I don't think it will ever change. Highly recommend making reservations- do not come at 7 before they close or you will wait to get your food for over an hour. The older waiter was so kind and is the only reason why I'm giving this place one additional star- everyone else should replicate his service! read more

Menu has shrunk significantly since last time here. There were four entrees available. I understood COVID and all but there's been enough time to adjust. We visited the Turtle on Saturday, August 5, around 2:00 p.m. for lunch. I spend my summers in Massena at my river house, and the rest of the year in Charlotte, North Carolina. The view from the back deck of the Turtle was awesome! :) It had rained earlier, but the sun was poking in and out and there was a great breeze off the lake. They have an optimal location. We were greeted as soon as we walked up to the entrance, and my mom asked for a table in the back section with an umbrella. She brought us to a table at the very front of the deck, great view. Shortly thereafter put the umbrella up for us. I ordered the Fish and Chips, with a substitute of Sweet Potato Fries for the regular fries. My mom ordered the Fish Tacos from the appetizer menu, with a side order of Sweet Potato Fries. I received my order and that fish was huge! The Panko breading was a little thick for my taste, but the fish was cooked perfectly. Sweet Potato Fries were delicious with the honey-mustard sauce they serve with it. My Mom's tacos were very good (according to her), and they brought the heat. :) She was very satisfied with her meal. The cons: I didn't get any cole slaw with my Fish and Chips, although it was called out on the menu. Also, no sauce for the fish and one tiny 8th of lemon for a huge fish fillet. Finally...$5.95 for a side order of sweet potato fries?! Were these sweet potatoes imported from some magical place? From my mom's side - more napkins. The small ones around the silverware are not sufficient for a meal, especially tacos. Overall a good meal with an excellent view; the waitress, Sarah P., was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I will definitely go back and do recommend it! :) read more

Lets discuss our experience at The Naked Turtle today because I am still in shock over our experience.... Customer Service is HORRIBLE!!! Tega thought the text the Naked Turtle sent to Bills Phone was for a table ready for us so Bill went and asked the hostess as they thought they missed it by seeing the text too late (20mins. in)... Hostess sits us at a table the waiter comes for drinks then the manager AIDEN shows up wanting to see the text (which was shown to him) stating it was weird that he didn't see the name on there wait list (they texted us!!) that we were seated before someone else etc... It was crazy as his hostess seated us, we did NOT just take a seat at a table so the manager Aiden was out on the deck harassing us over a table that we were texted about making a public spectacle. Finally after a long time of addressing us in front of everybody Aiden leaves stating it was not a big deal we were already seated as Bill asked him if he wanted us to go back to the bar (although he made it a big deal by addressing us on his hostess seating us) and waiter takes our order. As we get done eating a woman comes form another table and says hope you enjoyed your table (her waiter told her we took the table before them) ONCE AGAIN we were seated by the hostess!!!!! SOOOO, that means staff at this place was running there mouth too customers about other customers (us) stating to them that we stole there table.... WE WERE SEATED by the hostess!!! read more

The food is ok but the service and the drinks are terrible. If you are going to sell Mojitos please make sure you know how to make them. The proper mojito is made with lemons, mint, simple syrup (or just sugar), club soda and Bacardi or Don Q rum.. if you don't want to add sugar substitute it with sprite (not traditional but it works) but don't serve a bland drink unless someone asks for a skinny mojito. As for the servers if I tell you my drink is bad don't just stand there staring at me waiting for me to come up with a solution. Be proactive either take my drink and have it remade or ask me if I want something else. The last girl stood there so long that I had to tell her to just bring me some simple syrup so I could fix it since she didn't offer any other solution. read more

First and foremost, the location with the lake and mountain view is it's strongest point. Service was very good, quick and attentive. Now for the food. Could be we chose the wrong items. The Cajun Chicken Wrap was good, but nothing special. The Fish and Chips, at $18, seemed no different than what you can find in the frozen food section at local grocery store. The fish was tasteless-the coating was thick and hard, while the fish seemed undercooked. I would recommend something else on the menu. read more
