My go-to place for gel/shellac nail polish! They always have availabilities (have to book a day in advance for weekends though) and the service is good. They are not very close to where I live but I think it's worth the commute because their prices are so affordable! Last time I went there with my friend and we really wanted to sit next to each other but they did not have seating available for that so we were ok with it. However, as soon as the person next to me left the staff were very quick to move my friend next to me! They care about their customers! Not just that but my appointment was at 6pm but because of the traffic on the bridge, we were a few minutes late. I apologized because I know they close at 7pm but they were ok to stay open a bit longer for me and my friend.. it was very kind of them. I got gel nail polish (no design) on my hands and feet for $68 including taxes!! Highly recommend this place!! read more

Nail Splash in WV is not clean. The actual manicure/pedicure equipment appears to be used for multiple clients without benefit of interval cleaning, a pot scrubber (sponge side/rough scrubber), emory boards and cuticle clippers as well. I won't be back. read more

I love the Nail Splash! Yes, it's usually crazy busy crowded, but they'll take you for a walk-in mani pedi about 99% of the time. I've had pretty much everyone on staff there do my hands or my feet, and I haven't had a negative experience yet. You can tell by the old-money-West-Van-ladies-who-lunch clientele that this is THE spot to go to get a great set of nails. They are TREMENDOUSLY thorough, very friendly, and the polish LASTS. I've taken tons of friends there, and everyone has a great experience. And they painted a hibiscus on my big toe in the summer absolutely for free. $45 for a mani-pedi, leave yourself about an hour and a half, and you won't be disappointed. read more

One star is being generous. My experience was horrible as well as embarrassing. I came to get a gel manicure and the woman who was working on me spent half the time on another woman's pedicure during my appointment while I sat in the chair. I also ended up being in a rush because when she told me to put my thumb into the UV box apparently I did it wrong and my nails got smudged. She yelled at me because of this, ranting about my hand not being straight and scolded me for the remainder of the appointment while everyone in the salon stared. She then brought over the other nail ladies to look at my smuged nails while laughing and talking about me in Chinese. My two other friends were finished half an hour before me and the entire appointment took an hour an a half almost double what it should have. I'd even told her that I was in a rush to pick up my mom at the doctor. The lady blamed it on me and said if I'd kept my hand straight there would be no issue. I replied that it was an accident, I'd done it exactly how she showed me and that she had really embarrassed me in front of the entire salon. I WAS PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE! At this point she left once again and a colleague finished for me. My nails came out messy as well from her rush. Anyways, bottom line my experience could not have sucked worse than it did. I'd rather pick off my gel polish and ruin my nails then go back, definitely going to the north van location for removal. I would call to complain but they'd probably give me some sort of gift certificate requiring me to set foot in there again.HA NO THANKS! This place blows. read more

Anger management issues with owner and staff member, Anna. July 28/18 I missed my appointment and was called..within 2 hrs I went to studio to pay and give tip to Anna. She shot off her chair, grabbed me by upper arm and escorted me out out door.. saying "no, no, no,." Completely unacceptable treatment to a client for a missed appointment. If I could give it a lower rating, I certainly would. This is for the North Vancouver location but they don't have a yelp page yet and since it's the same company I figured I'd post here. After receiving a gift certificate for a gel nail colour, I decided to book an appointment and give it a try. As soon as I walk in, they usher me down to a seat where I wait a good 15 minutes for the manicurist to arrive. She used an extremely rough nail buffer to remove the previous colour and basically took off the first 2 layers of my nails! After that, she applied a very thing coat of the gel colour and top coat....and that was it. I told the manager at the front that the layer was much too thin and my nails would break. He assured me that no that won't happen and it'll last at least two weeks. Within 2 days, all of my nails broke and the colour came off. My nails have never been weaker then this. I'm definitely NEVER ever returning and going to continue to go to Four Season Nails - a place where they actually understand how to properly do nails. read more

I went to Nail Splash because my friend goes there and she always has really nice nails so I thought I would try to get Acrylics for the first time. On the website it said that it would be $36 but that is not true. I decided to meet my friend there and I was a bit early so I thought I would go in and sit inside to wait. When I got inside the smell was over whelming, the people talked quick with muffled voices because they were were those paper mask things that Doctors wear....yikes. One of the women came up to me and I said I would sit and wait for my friend so she led me to a manicure station. After 5 minutes she comes up and sits down then starts to file and care so I say, "Oh I was going to wait for my friend." The lady looks at me and says, "Ya but now we do this then later we do whatever else you want." Then she proceedes to put on acrylic nails then asks if I want colour or tip. This was very annoying. So I say, "I'm not sure....can I please wait for me friend?" Her response is, "Ya but we do now. What you want?" I don't know I wanted my friends opinion." " Ok we wait but are you going to want?" I say I'm not sure so she puts on the plan tip that is used for colour but you can also airbrush on a french tip and I make sure it's the same price and she says, "yes, yes of course." Then later my friend comes and I decided to get french tip so they airbrush it and my total comes to......$56!!!! Luckily my friend had extra money to lend me. The absolute worst manicure I have ever received in my entire life. These people rush you and are careless. My acrylic polish was thick and uneven. All nails were different lengths, shapes and the staff was rude, argumentative, and unapologetic. Would not recommend. Good service! Friendly, nails done well, nice hot stones for my pedi after the massage (which was a nice touch). The heated fans to dry the nails at the end was nice since it was a rainy, cold day. They were attentive to detail and since I have sensitive skin and a toe injury at the moment that was a true test! $45 for a mani/pedi is very reasonable (considering it's west van) so all in all, 4 stars. read more

I've been going here for over 20 years. I've learned that I can go to anyone and get a great nail fill and pedicure. It's often busy but even without making an appointment I always get in. They are extremely efficient and try hard to give you exactly what you are asking for. Over the years I have referred numerous friends who are now die-hard loyalists!! I have been going to Nail Splash in West Vancouver for 8 years. I've only used 3 technicians there and only get my acrylic nails done with a french manicure. I really like the quality of the work they do - the nails are not too thick and nicely shaped. I get my shellac manicure here, they do a great job every time, reasonably priced. It's quick, laid back, staff are nice. It's consistently busy so make an appointment. Unlike other places that make my fingers bleed, I've never had that happen here. read more

There should be a -5 star option. This is for the north vancouver location. My friend and I went here to get manicures with gel polish. Having got "gelish" brand many times before, we chose that. However, the girl doing my friends nails totally pushed us into getting the OPI brand of gel colour, which was apparently "re-formulated, much better than gelish, it will last way longer" so we did, stupidly paying 5 bucks extra as well. FIVE DAYS LATER. YES. ONLY FIVE DAYS LATER, the colour has peeled completely off of several of my nails, and chipped on all the others. My friend has similar difficulties. We went back tonight to complain, and were met with an excessively aggressive woman that said it was pretty much our fault. We told her that we get gelish all the time, and this has never happened before, but she got extremely defensive and said we could either pay for a full new manicure, or they could fix "some" of our nails. I think this can only be explained by the fact that she knows that OPI gel sucks, and she was too cheap to do anything honorable. I instead got them removed. NEVER go here, there are better options, these ladies do NOT stand behind the product they push on you, and will not accomodate you if you want something fixed or changed. read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. I went in with medium length nails to manicure and polish for a wedding. The woman took out clippers and clipped them to the quick. I burst in tears. The owner came over to look at them at asked me if I BIT MY NAILS !! They were that short ! I explained absolutely not. The owner apologized and did not offer a discount for the hack job. Horrible Experience!! I guess the boss 'Tracy' was out of town today.... traffic was so bad getting into downtown where I normally like to go for my pedi ( Nails de Kaen) so I decided to pop in for a quick pedi..... my grandmother, mother and sister have gone to this place since it first opened and I used to consider it the best place for a pedi in Vancouver but def not after today.... - the lady that I got was half asleep and so rude to me ,she wanted to use the drill on my natural nails and when I asked her not to she SNAPPED back and told me then I can't take out your cuticle..... I was already in the chair so I decided to just get it over with....I got there at 4:30pm and left at 6pm for a regular pedi!! She messed up my nail shape...half round and half square and I asked her not to cut the sides and she did anyways.... I was looking for the colour that I got last time and she was like I don't know where it is as she giggled and gossiped with the other rude ladies in the place. She proceeded to paint my nails white and when I told her I didn't like it she told me that she would charge me an additional three dollars to use another colour.... can you believe it?? I argued with her and the nice lady next to me tried to get her to help me and find my colour and she also told her that wasn't right but she got even ruder and SNAPPED at me for not liking it.... It was over an hour now that I was there and there was no boss to speak with.... she ended up putting on a pink colour that I chose and you won't believe it.... she charged me for doing that even though polish should be included in the pedi price.... I kept the receipt and I will let the boss know about the horrible horrible service but as others mentioned in their posts they obviously don't care about the customers but just the money .... I would not recommend this place to anyone - they are nice to some and very rude to others..... I sent my father there last week and he also came home and complained that they were so rude..... they also use dirty instruments and when you ask them not to use them they SNAP at you... the nice lady next to me didn't want her cuticle drilled and the lady snapped at her for that small request..... I am super picky about my manicures. Usually I do them myself because I am very finicky about how my nails are filed. This place has blown my mind. Absolutely amazing. The ladies doing my manicure and pedicure were friendly, they told me the nail polish was thin so they did multiple layers. Hot stone massage for my legs. After everything, put a nail fan on my hands and toes! Literally the second I paid and left the shop I used the restroom, dug in my purse for bus change, and the day after I went on an intense hike where I had to use my hands. My nails, 6 days later, are STILL PERFECT. And by West Van standards, this place is completely affordable for what you get. $45 for classic mani/pedi. read more
