The folks that gave this place 5 starts must have poor vision and couldn't see their nails after they were done. There is no other explanation. 2 stars because the man that did my nails was friendly, but outside of that literally the worst mani I have ever received. After coaching the man several times to correct missed places, gharly cuticles and smudged polish, I realized it was a lost cause and decided to sit there and listen to him talk about football while I tried to ignore looking at my nails. I'm debating getting nail polish remover out and I just left the "salon" 20 minutes ago. And at $15 a pop for a mani, I would definitely pass! read more

Random visit while staying at a nearby resort. I got a pedicure and got a set of fake nails done. I gatta first admit that it didn't turn out exactly like I wanted, but it had its own charms and was generally along the lines. With that settled, I did enjoy the service very much. Jimmy was very gentle with everything and Vincent did everything he can to accommodate for the exact shade of airbrush color that I wanted. Jimmy did go a little crazy with the glue, it was everywhere, but he did somewhat salvage it and the rest was nothing a bit of natural skin shedding couldn't tare care of lol. All in all, I had a good relaxing time, foot massage was great, and I would definitely recommend others to come. I'm a sucker for nice people. read more

Went in today with my roommate and had a great experience! We didn't even make an appointment and they took us both right away. Both of the men were so friendly and chatted with us the entire time. The price was EXCELLENT! Cheapest place out of the 10 or so stores we called. Such a great and comfortable environment to be in. Definitely best place in the desert! read more

Rude is what I would call the lady who did my nails. I went to get my nails done during the Mother's Day weekend and a lady prepared to do my nails until another lady walked in and she took her first after taking me in to do my nails. I was in Palm Desert and wanted to try somewhere new. My old nail salon in Palm Springs had given me two bad experiences and another was pricey. I did not have an appointment at Nails Today and they accommodated me for a mani/pedi. Both Vincent and Rosie worked on my nails. And the result is fantastic. The only reason I am giving them only 4 stars -- and this is partly YELP's fault -- is that the mani/pedi was much more expensive than I expected (even more than the "pricey" salon I refer to at the beginning of my review). In fact, when Vincent told me the price, I made him repeat it, just to make sure I heard him correctly. YELP had them listed as a one $, meaning inexpensive; so I trusted YELP. YELP, you were wrong! That said, the mani/pedi is great. If you can afford a little extra for great service, I recommend them. read more

I have lived in Manhattan, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, and bar none the best nail care I've ever had is from Vincent, Rose and Jimmy at Nails Today in Palm Desert, Calif. Vincent is an artist with acrylic. I just had mine redone after a month that included five days SCUBA diving in the Sea of Cortez. Not one of them came off! They will take the time to do artwork on your hands and feet. I waited a month to come back to them rather than have my nails done on the road. This married couple has been in the same location for 17 years. They have raised four children in Palm Desert and are part of the community. I got a great pedicure at a more than reasonable price. I will not only return, I will recommend them to every one I know. The shop is clean, they use sterilized instruments and they are connected to the client as much as you chose to be connected. What a refreshing experience. I will not go anywhere else. After 14 years in the desert, I have tried numerous salons and I am tired of paying for service that is given like I am just a $bill with no human connection. The prices at Nails Today are totally competitive and you get a get service while feeling like you are a valued customer. So I decided to go to this place on a whim and I'm really happy I did. I was able to get a gel manicure and pedicure for $40 and it turned out great! I would definitely ask for jimmy, not only does he do great work but he's such a nice man who you can understand when talking to. And he gives a killer foot massage! The salon is small but very clean and organized. It wasn't very busy either so they started right away that was nice. I definitely plan to come back! read more

I have been looking for a place to get my nails done that, frankly, didn't leave me wondering if I was participating in a human traficking ring. I wasn't treated like cattle, either. When I arrived at my appointment time, Rose was ready to begin my pedicure. Vincent was very patient with my questions. $25 for a pedicure and the foot massage was only 10 minutes! Also, he was digging into the left corner of my great toe, and now a week later it's tender and sore. Not a positive experience, also polish was all over the skin area around the great toes. Go somewhere else! read more
