But I have been really happy with the consistency of quality and service here. My first time I tried Gel X "soft gel" nails because I wanted length and then have transitioned to hard builder gel manicures on my natural nail and gel pedicures for the rest. My nails have been able to grow to a nice length naturally. I've never had a chip! Fun colors and they do nail art. They also offer complimentary drinks and snacks, always a bonus! I guess I should start out by saying this has been my forever nail place for years now. The service has been flawless in my nails have never looked so amazing. None of that chemical smell inside of this salon. I've had gel, dip, and now gel-x! All are amazing and have their own pros and cons. But I have to say this gel X stuff is pretty incredible. My manicures last almost a month before they grow out and I need a new set. Autumn always does such a great job on my nails and is a pleasure to talk to about whatever is going on. The entire staff is friendly and very easy to talk to and explain what type of service you are looking for. Lots of bright light and beautiful chandeliers to look at while you get your nails done! Family owned, and run business! What more can you ask for? This is my number one spot and I always recommend this place when people from out of town are looking for nails. I did a walk-in on a busy Friday afternoon and they got me in immediately for a mani/pedi. I have tried a few salons since moving from Los Angeles and haven't really found my place. Happy to say, this is it! It is not fanciest place, but they do excellent work. The owner runs a tight ship and is an expert. For being on El Paseo the prices are reasonable. I have been going to the Spa at Sec-he in Palm Springs. Their facilities (chairs/vibe) are best in class, but my nails don't last more than a few days. I only get a pedicure once a year as a treat. I usually do them myself because I'm not satisfied with the quality and when I do them myself the polish lasts for a few weeks. So I always try to find somewhere that gets great reviews as this place has. But I wouldn't go back. Had classic pedicure. Minor work was done on my cuticles and dry skin is still around my nails. I'll soak my feet and clean them up tomorrow. The polish is not even near my cuticles and will probably look grown out within a week. read more

It was my first time at Desert Nail Spa and it is located in an upscale shopping area. There's plenty of street parking. The interior is bright and clean. It was a very hot day when I went, but the AC felt cool and crisp. All of the staff members are friendly and kind. I came in with a design picture in mind and it was no hassle to them! I had Angel clean up my cuticles and prep my nails. She was very diligent with taking care of them since I had gel x nails done previously. Katina is an artist! She helped me pick out the perfect sized gel x extension for my nails. I picked almond shape with ombré pink, silver cat eye for the tip and a stone for each nail. The nails matched the inspo photo 1 to 1! Katina took the time to tell me how to care for my nails. She is so detailed with making sure the nail extensions are straight and flat on my nails to prevent curling. I also had a color/design in mind for my pedicure and Katina delivered! Angel helped me with my cuticles and prepping my toes. They were very careful with removing the old gel polish on my toenails. I went with a metallic mauve and asked for swirls for that marble effect. I felt like a princess here because they take the time to take care of you and listen to your needs. I don't really get all the reviews on here I think my experience was wayyyy different. I won't be coming back here ever. They must be nice to their repeat customers or somthing becuase this sucked. I had to wait 20 min to get sat in a chair. They did my nails first then my pedi which took extra long. Prices are on the high side too. For reference here are my nails that cost 95$ and my pedi that costs 58$. The pedi aside from ur feet being in water a 1 min scrub w the regular foot bar and 1.5 min massage totalleg just the leg not the foot or the heel. And wow almond short gel nails w chrome is 95$. I've been to many nail salons and this was not my best experience. I give 1 star for vibe/deco r and 1 star for the quality of my nails. read more

This is my husband's and my second time at Desert Nails & Spa. Our services were good! Everyone is very friendly! The first time, the salon was very clean. My husband had been dealing with an ingrown toenail. He had even been to a podiatrist. I believe it was Kat who fixed the ingrown toenail. He was so happy and was beyond impressed! This visit the salon was less than clean. The floor and tables were dirt. I am concerned about their cleaning practices. Especially, when this is their slow time and should have plenty of time to clean. I am writing this as a constructive review in hopes that they will make the necessary changes because I would like to go back. If my review was on the mani/pedi alone, I would give Jen (I think that is her name) 4.5 stars out of 5. read more

Went today as a walk in to get a pedicure. The girl was nice. The regular base pedicure was $35. No real massage. They use a nail file to 'buff' your feet. Also realized once I got home they did not put a top coat of polish! Kinda bummed. Thought this would be my new spot. UPDATE Requested by salon. I did indeed go back once I had a moment. I was shocked at how different the process was this time around when they repainted my nails. When I arrived I mentioned that I didn't get a top coat. They said they used a different top coat the first time that go well with glitter nail polish. (Why did they initially put that one on me if they knew that particular top coat polish didn't work with glitter polish?) They put an additional coat of nail polish this time around and a different top coat. There was a huge difference in the polish, it even looked darker and actually had a top coat shine/smoothness. Another thing that was different this time around that they didn't do initially was they even sprayed my polish! Wish all this happened the first time around. Glad I went back to get the polish fixed. read more

She was VERY quick to respond to my inquiry and helpful in getting two pedicures scheduled together on the date and time we needed. We just recently had our pedicures, but I am still undecided about rating the services provided. Especially after reading the "specialties" section from the business on Yelp again. I'm not sure I agree about the "staff being professional yet very friendly-you will feel so at-home in their presence". I did not experience that and I certainly did not feel pampered. They did a great job but I gave them a gift card and they told my husband who bought the gift card that it was $60 for gel pedicure and I chose the organic spa pedicure and it was $65. I gave her the gift card and then she comes back and tells me it's 15 additional dollars for gel. That's ridiculous and they ripped me off. They only did that because I gave them the gift card.
