1 Star -- Unprofessional, Rude, and Completely Unacceptable Customer Service…read more
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at TK Nails was so unnecessarily unpleasant that I feel compelled to share it.
I stopped by during my lunch break for a simple nail replacement. ONE nail. I had broken a nail and needed it repaired to match my existing coffin-shaped set. I completely understand that different nail technicians have different techniques and that another salon may not have the exact same products or colors. I wasn't expecting perfection, but I was expecting basic professionalism, communication, and a reasonable effort to match what was already on my hands.
Apparently, that was asking for too much.
The first nail technician applied the replacement nail after I specifically requested a coffin shape. When it came time for the color, he began applying a light pink shade that was noticeably different from my existing nails. When I pointed this out, instead of explaining his process or discussing alternatives, he insisted that my original color had faded over time and that this was the closest match available.
Had he communicated that he intended to layer another color over the base to achieve a similar shade, I would have understood. But that was never explained to me.
I was then passed to another nail technician, who applied clear acrylic. Unfortunately, the replacement nail was noticeably thicker, bulkier, and curved compared to my existing nails. My original nails were straight with a clean coffin shape, while the replacement had a visible hump. I tried explaining the difference, but we were clearly having difficulty understanding each other.
At one point, I even asked another customer for her opinion because I genuinely wanted to make sure I was communicating my concerns clearly. She immediately noticed the same difference and confirmed that my existing nails were straighter and more defined.
I then approached the gentleman who appeared to be the owner or manager, hoping he could help communicate what I was requesting.
Instead of attempting to resolve the issue, he told me, "Well, go to the place where you got your nails done."
Excuse me?
I explained that I was on my lunch break and had stopped at their establishment because it was conveniently located. Had I been able to return to my original nail technician, I would have done exactly that.
His response? "Well, you can leave."
When I expressed how disrespectful and unprofessional that response was, he reiterated that I could leave and even suggested that I remove the nail.
Let me get this straight. A customer walks into your establishment, requests a service you agree to provide, politely communicates that the result does not match what was requested, and your solution is to tell her to leave?
The issue was never that you couldn't perfectly replicate another technician's work. The issue was your attitude, your complete lack of customer service, and your inability to handle constructive feedback without becoming dismissive and disrespectful.
If a service is beyond your capabilities, communicate that upfront. If a customer expresses dissatisfaction, make a reasonable effort to address it. What you don't do is become irritated, dismiss their concerns, and tell them to take their business elsewhere simply because they expect the service they requested.
I came in for ONE nail replacement and left with an unfinished nail, a terrible impression of this establishment, and absolutely no desire to return.
Being able to apply acrylic does not automatically mean you know how to run a business or treat customers with respect.
I would not recommend TK Nails to anyone who values professionalism, clear communication, or basic customer service.
