I especially like how the nail techs are spaced out so that it doesn't feel crowded or like everyone is on top of each other. You actually have personal space and can relax during your appointment. The front desk receptionist is also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, especially when it comes to nail polish options and helping you decide what to get. I've been to Kai 15+ times and I have 1 experience with a male tech where he did one nail so terrible. It was a fill with a basic color on top. He shaped the nails horribly and was going to let me leave with it. Every other nail had minute issues that I would not have cared about enough to need them redone. However, every other time I've been there, I've always gotten what I asked for and was even inclined to return multiple times. My mom has gone + times, just for regular polish and she's had a handful of poor/ disappointing experiences but typically has a neutral to positive experience. The vibe is good if you're into that kinda thing and it was noticeably clean. The odds are you'll be fine going here. They're reliable. 8/14/2020- Called after seeing the Yelp reviews. This was after a dentist appointment and I was in the area. They said they could take me right away. They followed all COVID-19 guidelines and requirements. They took my temperature as soon as I walked in and required I use hand sanitizer. I signed a few forms and all their pens were in a sanitized cup. They were only a few people and everyone was six feet apart and wore masks. I purchased a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the place. It is a spacious, beautiful modern spa. The young man who took care of me was friendly and courteous and did a phenomenal job on my hands and toes. I could have not been happier with the service and plan on making an appointment very soon. On Tuesday, I decided to treat myself to get my nails done! [Treat yourself Tuesday] though, I believe treating yourself here and there on any day is good too! :) Anyways, On the Yelp page, it says: "walk-ins welcome" However, I had to double to make sure they accept walk-ins. [Oh!] There is even a Dunkin Donuts in the plaza, so once you get your manicure or pedicure, you can double treat yourself to sweets! what a win win in my books! Before entering the place, on the door it says "Mask is required". So that being said, make sure you wear your mask at this :) Once I entered inside ,I could not help notice that the place was very clean! Then my left side, I saw a beautiful floral board that said, " Happiness Is Feeling Beautiful". Perfect spot to take pictures once your nails are done to either post it on the Instagram, Snapchat, or even on the Yelp like I did ! hehe One of the staff greeted me and told me it would be 10 min wait, which I did not mind at all! 10mins went by quickly, the staff told me to go in the back to wash my hands first and then a nail technician will come and get me. I honestly thought the sinks were so adorable and even the sink area was clean! Anyways, I just went for an Acrylic Dip! Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the nail technician would did my nails. I've been here once before for a simple mani/pedi and it was a relaxing experience. My regular mani lasted an entire week! The salon is very clean and neat. I decided to go back for a gel mani. I haven't had success with gel manicures. They last just a couple days before they start chipping and I explained that to my technician, Dao. She said try the gel again that it could be my cuticles aren't cleaned properly. Lo and behold, a week later my gel nails are still perfect!!! I'm definitely going back here. Not only because my gel mani held up but because Dao was awesome. She was personable and really nice. The salon is pretty pricey but they offer 5% off with cash. I love this nail salon. I've been going there for the past 2 years when I lived in Hollywood, FL, and now I'm traveling from coral gables, as I have not been able to find the same quality salon out here. The people that work the front desk are always nice on the phone and in person. You get seated essentially immediately upon arrival to your appointment after you wash your hands (another touch I appreciate, as hygiene is top priority). The salon is cute and clean and the ambience is relaxing. For reference, I always get dip manicure and regular pedicure and as far as dip, I haven't been able to find any salon that matches this salon's quality. All the nail technicians are very well trained (I've been with Emie, the older male technician (sorry I don't remember his name, but he was great) and most recently Kiki, all amazing!). My dip comes out gentle, natural looking and not thick like in some places, they shape the nails so beautifully (I've been to places where they shaped my nails and the tips were off center). And most importantly, my nails DON'T chip (they last me 3 weeks at which point I get them done again), which has been a problem in most other salons I've been to in South Florida. After several recommendations from friends and reading the Yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try and was a little let down by how average this place was. For starters I called to make an appointment for me and the bestie to get mani and pedi's at the same time and when we arrived we were placed on opposite sides of the spa as if we were two separate appts so it was pointless going together since we couldn't see each other which kind of sucked since it silent in there. I went for a regular medi and pedi and it was about 50( without tip) which was a little more than I was expected since I had a solid color. I didn't like how she didn't go all the way to end of the cuticle (see picture for details) which then looks like the manicure is grown out. Otherwise everything was decent. My bestie had a dip medi and they came out beautiful, but she did say it really depends on who you get since some techs are more detail oriented. Other than that the salon was very clean, staff was super nice anll and bonus points for all their nail polishes being OPI. Would I personally go back, no. I only get basic man is and pedi cuz I hate taking off the gel but if you are going for dip nails or acrylic then I would highly recommend since my best friends nails came out so nice and the salon is beautiful. I had Eric who did a pretty decent job, I had to ask him to get the polish closer to my nail because it was obvious polish was missing along the majority of my fingers nails. I'm a nurse who is on her feet four times a week 12 to 13 hours a day, and washes her hands more than 20 times a day. Might I add that I'm not the most diligent in moisturizing between hand washes, therefore you can imagine what my cuticles and nails look like. She did some major damage control.
