She took her time and had great attention to detail for this service. It was the best pedicure I've had since I've moved back to Philly. It was relaxing and the massage was incredible! I am furious. I have been coming here for a year and today I don't feel like no received the same service that I have always been. I wanted SHORT acrylic nails with black polish. the lady doing my nails was mad because I asked her to go short. Maybe short isn't her preference. But it's mine and it's what's I wanted. Your eye rolls were unnecessary. second, I wanted black gel. I get that you may need a few coats. But I'm not stupid. My first time here and their work did not disappoint. I came in an hour before they were about to close but they kindly let us get our manicure and pedicure with no problem. I got the classic pedicure and gel mani. I like how she used a scrub on my feet/buffed it. They also do hot stones! I've never had a hot stone pedicure before and it definitely felt nice. I wish it lasted longer. The gel mani looks very clean. My only complaint is that the polish is on the sheer side. She did two coats, if she done 3 coats, it would have been perfect. This is my new favorite nail salon since I started going this summer. The staff here are very nice and thorough. The salon itself is clean and their quality is consistent so far. I've had my face waxed and pedicures so far. The wax is chocolate scented and it's supposedly less harmful. My pedicures always last at LEAST a month so I'm very satisfied. They do paraffin, scrub & hot stone for a $25 pedicure. Did I mention they take credit card?! That's practically unheard of for nail salons. I came here for the first time a few days ago and I was SO disappointed. First, they asked what I came to get. I had a previous set of dip nails on and wanted to get gel. Sam started taking my gel off since apparently no one else could do it correctly. As she was taking off my dip powder, she informed me it would be $5 to take them off and get gel. I said it was no problem; even though I've never been charged to have that done at any other salon. Not only was she super rough and as my nails were soaking in acetone (Which is damaging enough), she kept aggressively buffing off the dip powder. She even used a manicure tool to pry my dip powder off and pierced my nail. She pierced it so roughly that my finger was bleeding UNDER the nail. Then I moved over to Vivian who would be doing my gel manicure. She questioned Sam on what she did to my nail and Sam brushed it off. She did a decent job I thought, until the next day I noticed that two of my nails were already peeling off polish and had two big bubbles underneath the gel. And I went to touch the nails and LIQUID GEL POLISH came out. So clearly she didn't cure them long enough. I will never come here again. read more

TLDR: this place has gone downhill, don't waste your time. Story: I used to be a regular customer here and even had a specific person I really enjoyed regularly seeing. I told everyone in the neighborhood how great this place was. After having a kid, I just didn't have the time to commit to regularly getting my nails done, so I rarely did it. The last few times I've made appointments, I've shown up on time and had to wait 20-30 minutes. Today I called to make an appointment and was asked if I could come in tomorrow, I said I couldn't. They told me to come in at 2. I went in to have my dip manicure removed and a new one put on. I was taken immediately by the owner and started the process of wrapping my nails to remove the dip, while I thought the person I made a appt with was just finishing up another client. I sat for 45 minutes waiting, fingers wrapped in tinfoil, and finally asked another employee to just remove the foil so I could go elsewhere. it's truly a shame, this place used to be the best - seriously, Im not sure how their customer service has gone so downhill and why they can't figure out scheduling better. they even charged me $10, after years of going there. so sad, I'll never go there again and wouldn't recommend. read more

I'm someone who treats myself to a mani or pedi maybe once every like two years. Now that I know this place is super close to me and has parking, perhaps I'll make it a more regular occurrence. With that said, the place felt very clean, welcoming and relaxing. I got a pedicure and those chairs were SO comfy with the massage features built in, obvi. The décor is classy without being tacky like a lot of salons are and they played light, classical, spa-like music. Every seat was taken when I arrived (I was a walk-in) so the woman at the front desk told me to browse the polish colors. Three minutes later and they already have a seat ready for me. Seems like they manage their staff well when handling large volumes of customers, especially those without appointments. Vy took care of me and she was speedy, yet efficient. She mentioned the type of pedicure I wanted in the beginning but I couldn't understand, so there was a little confusion, but I think I got whatever is "basic." Upon looking at their menu, it seems like there's 5-6 different types, all ranging in price from $20 to $55. Mine came to $25, which isn't bad at all - and that included a light hot stone press on my calves (although the ultra hot stone pedicure was the $55 one, so I'm sure that's different). Others I noticed had these white microwaved hot booties placed on their feet, which looked very relaxing, but I'm guessing that's part of another, pricier package. Mani prices on the menu looked affordable, as well. My one complaint would be that the color I picked (peach, to match a dress for a wedding) barely had any left in its bottle. She asked if I liked that color and I said yes, so she returned with....not peach. It was like a very light, almost white pink. She started applying it and I noticed it was vastly different than the first choice, but much easier to see (the peach probably would've needed a thousand coats). I actually liked the color so I didn't make her change it, although perhaps they should ensure the displays have full bottles and backups. Also, I wish salons would separate gel colors from regular, I can never tell. Gel didn't seem to be an option for my pedicure, although I'm sure you can request it. Also, I noticed that some people had white wine/butter cookies, but others didn't and I wasn't offered. It seemed like the regular customers were handed them upon entering. Perhaps you just need to know to ask for it. Overall, my pedicure seems to be holding up well almost a week later and my feet definitely felt smoother. Pricing is ridiculously high. Work is unsatisfying. My pedicure was 65 dollars and toenails chipped following day. Ashame because the technician this day was lovely (lady who wears watermelon platforms). Today I went back (5 days later) to get the white lines fixed on my French toenails (two big toes) and the line bled with topcoat. Asked the technician to fix and she was annoyed and had me wait while she did a new customers hands. Refill with regular polish was 29 dollars because of the "cut and shape?' in all other salons I have spent 15-19 for all three. Funny because there are signs everywhere that say pricing went up but there are no prices. There are bubbles on my nails from the top coat. I'm a fan of this south Philly nail salon! You can get a solid manicure for a reasonable price and fast and efficient service. I have gotten gel manicures from Sam and Vy and they both have done great jobs. They have a large selection of gel colors including OPI brand products and many others (even Chrome). Gel manicures are $25, which I am happy to pay because in CT they are $10 more! I have also gotten my eyebrows waxed here and Vy did a nice job cleaning them up. The interior is clean and vibrant with lufa-like decor hanging from the ceiling. I was a regular at this salon. So when my sister was getting married, I insisted on taking her here before her wedding so we could get mani-pedi's. It was my treat as her maid of honor, which I now regret so much. They were mean to her! (And me.) She had a photo of what she wanted, kind of a French manicure where the pink blends into the white. They kept passing her phone around to each other as each said no, they couldn't do it. OK, so they couldn't. She was disappointed, but she just chose something else. It was about 6:15 when we walked in. They started us on pedicures. The woman who was doing mine was being kinda violent with me. She was jerking my feet around dramatically! I thought I must be crazy. I come here all the time, and they've always been nice to me. I looked over at my sister to see if she noticed what was happening, and she did. At this point I realized (googled) they close at 7 (I didn't know. I usually come alone in the morning since I often work at night. She was clearly pissed. At any rate, we were out the door by 7:10, having been treated like garbage the entire time. If I realized it was too late I would've just come back the next day. I'm a center city transplant in s philly and thought I'd have to give up the glamorous, quality spots I'd used to go up in the city. All I gave up was long waits and snooty customers yelling on the phone next to me. Not only is nails new concept bigger than the salons in Center City but so much more convenient as it has a big parking lot. Prices are low quality is high - - so far my pedicures have all lasted at least 2 to 3 weeks. And they have the ubiquitous massage chairs which just makes any pedicure better.
