I went early in the morning around 10am, it was less busy, only 2 other people were there getting their pedicures done. It was quiet, they had the tv on and you can hear people's conversations, but not too loud. I did a gel pedi for $55 and it turned out really great and staff was very speedy. Polish application is great. It was my first time there, so I think this will be my go-to place from now on read more

This was the perfect spot for me to hop in right after work. The salon was kept neat, prices were reasonable (for city prices) and the staff was very warm and welcoming. Walking into a salon can be awkward when no one acknowledges you but this wasn't the case. My technician was so detailed and very accommodating when I decided to change my color a few times. Recommendation- definitely make an appointment if you go after 5. read more

absolutely 12/10! I needed to find somewhere before the holiday due to not having time around me. I found this spot while at work and I am so glad I did. Such great service. I am so satisfied with my gel manicure. I may have to make this my new spot. read more

I came here for a QUICK regular manicure during lunch. I arrived about 5 minutes after noon and I was taken immediately with zero wait time. I was out the door by 12:35 with zero smudges or bubbles on the polish! My girl Diem hooked me up with the ~requested~ quick mani, and I have to say she did not cut any corners. I still got the wrist massage and she was AMAZING at painting my nails. So efficient and practically flawless. The shape was great too! For a nail salon, it may not blow you away. I've been to nicer with all the 'bells and whistles' (ex: neck massages, etc.) But for the time, quality and price... you won't be disappointed! read more

JFK Nails - Regular mani - Nail Salons Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I normally go to City Nails because it is near my office but always get nervous going there because they don't seem that clean (doesn't look like they clean their tools frequently). I chose to go here because I saw Google reviews saying they used new packages of tools for everyone. It was very reasonably priced and the girl who did my nails did not rush to get them done which I appreciated. For 5 pm on a Friday in Center City, I thought there would be a wait but they took me right away. While they did not use new packaging, I did see that they sterilize their tools which made me feel better. The have been to other nail salons where they have a larger color selection but this was still a great place to go for a last minute manicure! I recommend! read more

I came here in a pinch and I was very disappointed with the service I received. The woman who did my nails was extremely rough and harsh. At one point, I became vocal and told her that she was hurting me. She didn't even use tools to clean up some of the polish, but instead used her sharp pointy nail Worst of all, it hasn't even been 2 weeks and half my nails have come off. When I go to other nail salons and get dip, I can push it out for 3 weeks. Here, my nails didn't even make it to the 2 week mark. Never again. read more

Got a gel Mani and regular pedi here today. I was a walk in but they did accommodate me and I have to say my gel Mani is one of the best ones I have gotten in a while. My technician was careful to ensure that none of the Polish smudged or got anywhere but my nails. They look great and I am very happy with them. My only reason for not giving them a five star rating is that my pedi was a little rushed but it still looks great and the nails are not smudged at all. Great experience and great service read more

I arrived around 1:30 p.m. and was seated right away after I picked my nail polish for a manicure. I am going on a trip and have minimum time so I went during my lunch break. There is not a wide variety of polish colors and they do look a bit old. But my finger nails do look amazing! The manicure was only $12, which is absolutely reasonable. The odd thing was that the lady that did my nails only coded my nails twice on my left hand and coded my nails once on my right hand. I did not say anything because I am not the type to get into controversy because the process was cheep and fast. Definitely a place to go to if you are in a rush and need to get your nails done quickly. read more

Don't believe the negative reviews!!!! I had an amazing experience today, after work around 5:30, my friend and I got mani pedis done. The techs were friendly and gentle. I am not usually a nail clippers girl, but I was totally comfortable in the chair. My friend got her pedi finished first, and when she left her seat, an attendant IMMEDIATELY started to clean the foot spa!! Maybe because they were not that busy at the end of the day, but it was very reassuring to know they were cleaned! They gave us massages, hot towels, the works, and we were both out in under an hour! Great service, absolutely will be going back!! :) read more

The ladies here were super sweet and efficient. I walked in and was able to get a basic pedicure straight away. Prices are reasonable too!

Clean nail salon that gets the job done. I get my gel mani here and it usually last 3 weeks. Sometimes, I really just want a change so I get it done sooner. The reviews scared me off from this place for a while but I decided to try it because someone recommended it. I like it here because of convenience, they're very quick, and do a good job. I don't get anything fancy but I don't get the vibe they do really crazy designs here. Big plus is that this place is open on Sundays. read more

DONT DO IT. NO CONVENIENCE IS WORTH IT. YOUVE BEEN WARNED. I've never had a worse experience of my entire life. This was the most PAINFUL and unpleasant nail experience. I came in to take my tips and dip powder set off. Instead of using an electric file and soaking my set off, she took a tip, wedged it under my polish/tips then forcefully plied the fake nails off my real nails. She literally peeled my tips and polish off -- INSANE. I real nails were left SO brittle and thin. At one point she mistook my real nails are fake nails and DUG A TIP INTO MY NAIL BED. Imagine someone taking a pin and shoving it under your nail. Also with the force that she used to take my polish set off, it felt like breaking all 10 acrylics -- if you've ever broken a nail; you'd know how painful my exp was. After she was done taking the polish off with my nails so brittle and thin, she NOW took an electric file that I've been begging her to use and filed my real nails to oblivion. read more

Horrible experience. Technician globbed way too much acrylic onto the nail resulting in these huge, uneven and incredibly thick nails. This also made the paste cover some of my skin on each side, causing burning and stinging. My nail beds are no where near as big as they appear in this photo. I expressed my concerns and asked my technician three separate times to thin the nails out and shape them to be slimmer. As you can see they didn't get much better, and in the process she caught skin on every single one of my nails rubbing them raw and making them bleed. And I noticed that equipment used on my bloody fingers was not cleaned afterwards. Such a waste of money and time, I honestly could have done a better job myself. read more

I received a gel manicure at a good price. However the quality wasn't great as it started peeling within just a few days. I also went back to get them removed which was a better experience as they had good after care for that process. read more

A convenient and affordable place to go if you live or work in the area. A manicure will run you $10 before tip, which is pretty decent. There are no bells and whistles here though, so if you're looking to have your arms massaged to the gils, look elsewhere. At JFK, you'll be in and out in about 20 minutes, which most likely fits the clientele in this location. One thing I noticed is their nail color selections weren't that great. Most polishes looked old and they didn't carry the newest colors by Essie or OPI. Overall, I would return if I'm crunched for time and in the area. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The nail tech in seat four is rude and actually YELLED at me when I asked her to paint my nails with two coats (typical is always two coats of polish). She insisted that she painted twice already and actually said " you just don't pay attention and that's not my fault so maybe you should start paying attention." I wish I hadn't already tipped her because she did not deserve it at all!!!! read more

INFECTION!! DO NOT under any circumstances come to this salon. There is absolutely no way they clean their tools and I can't even imagine what other health code violations they are breaking. My friend and I went here for simple pedicures and weeks later we both had toenail infections. Another friend came here for a manicure and got an infection so bad, she lost her entire nail. I have literally never wrote a review in my life but this felt necessary. There is no way all 3 of us coincidentally got nail infections after coming here, they absolutely had to be a result of this salon. Nail infections are not easy to deal with and become dangerous if they spread, save yourself! read more

Every visit to JFK nails has left me totally satisfied. Very nice, attentive staff, clean place, fume-free, and quick. I've never made an appointment, and I've always been attended to immediately. You can't beat a $25 mani/pedi. Though do realize, this is a standard pedicure, not a spa pedicure. You get a sea salt soak, callous softener, a scrub and a foot file, toe nail filing, cuticle oil/trim, paint, and a bit of a foot/leg massage. Which is pretty great for the price. They do extremely good cuticle work on your toes, but if your feet need some intensive labor (cheese grater style), you're going to need to upgrade. $25 isn't going to cover de-hoofing. Their polish selection is great (OPI and Essie), and their gel selection is pretty good. They use CND shellac polish, pre-bonder, bonder, and topcoat -- GREAT brand. So far, I've never had any bad experiences in the manicure department, either -- no ragged cuticles or sloppy paint jobs. With every salon, you're bound to get a girl having an off-day at some point, but I wouldn't say that's any reflection on this establishment. My gel manicures here have always lasted three weeks -- and would have lasted longer -- my nails have always grown out before the polish even began to chip. My regular manicures last at least a week. Extra impressive coming from someone who washes her hands at least 20 times a day. read more

This nail salon is a solid three-stars. I wanted to give them four, as these are the highlights: They're cheap. Compared to other nail salons in the area, they charge just about the least. And they're fast. Which is nice when you're coming here on a lunch break and/or on a budget. The downside: If you come during/around lunch time, expect them to be PACKED (why? see highlights above). Even if all the nail techs are busy and there are 4 other people sitting and waiting, they will tell you to pick a color and wait. Which means you could end up waiting for a good 20 minutes for a nail tech who will be finishing up someone's manicure while simultaneously taking off your nail polish. "Appointments" are taken lightly here, as you'll still probably have to wait. Best bet...come here during an off hour. read more

Terrible slow and expensive Slow I went during lunch break for a quick gel mani Explained that I was in a rush, technician said ok and then proceeded to take an hour to do a gel manicure. I went here a few times about 5 years only because my school was close. They did just an ok job back then but now... omg. Took her over an hour to do my refill and they turned out horrible. They are boxy and very thick. I am going elsewhere tomorrow to get this fixed! The worst my nails have looked. didn't even lotion my hands before applying the polish (which I took of soon as I got back to my office). She was sweet so I tried to point out a few things in the process without being rude but no luck. I called the salon when I got to my office to voice my compliant and recommended that she receive more training. They lady on the phone apologized and offered to fix them. I kindly declined. Will not be returning. Great prices and location such a shame ... read more

The service is really rude. I am never gonna go here again. I met with Jessie cuz my friend recommended her. The first time I was there, I was asking questions during the process. I did dip so I was seeing some bumps and I was asking if she is going to get rid of those bumps later. She says very bluntly, "I am not done yet". I wasn't too happy with the attitude but she did get rid of the bumps later and I was happy with the nails. I was like okay. I will come back. The 2nd time I made an appointment and I was 4 mins late. However when I arrived, she is still with her previous customer and she needed 5 more minutes. Then she told me she can't do what I need because she has someone scheduled after my appointment and she looked at the clock emphasizing I was late! I'd like to start by saying I've never written a yelp review. This review is exclusively for Ara and not reflective of the overall establishment. Ara is the best nail technician I've seen in the 4 years I lived in Philadelphia. I'm a dentist so I work with/ wash my hands constantly. My hands were an absolute mess, but Ara still worked her magic on a less than ideal canvas. - Cleanliness: I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the establishment. The instruments come in sterile pouches and I didn't notice her using common use jars. The foot massagers are the only thing I noticed that they would have extreme difficulty thoroughly cleaning due to its complex shape (but who knows... they could have a system to tackle this). -Attention to detail: Your nails will be shaped perfectly and your cuticles will be trimmed properly. Ara will make sure your gel polish doesn't get caught on any part of your cuticle. My manicures lasted longer with her than with anyone else because of this. She takes her time and gives you her full attention. -Polish selection: Moderate variety of colors -Bonus: She uses LED lighting instead of UV which I greatly appreciated. -Eyebrows: She also does eyebrows!!! She'll spend a ton of time tweezing and trimming until they're perfect. Quite honestly, my brows still haven't looked as good as when she did them. For those of you skeptical about letting a nail technician touch your eyebrows, give her a try. -Price: Standard and worth it. - Additional notes: This is only for standard gel manicures without design. If you like something more complex, I'd ask her about it. She's very honest about her skill set. I moved from Philadelphia a few months ago. If she no longer works there, I would ask someone where she went and follow her out the door. I was once seen by someone else and it was an unpleasant experience to say the least. read more

I don't mind dingy and speedy but cleanliness is a must. I'm not so sure these folks follow basic, common sense hygienic routines. For example, I didn't see them clean a foot tub once during my visit and I was there awhile. I also didn't see them clean or heat treat any nail tools. Also, I had two different techs and both painted my cuticles. I understand it's no frills but I still paid $35 for a bad experience. Won't be going back. read more

I went here within 20 min of it opening so it wasn't crowded at all and nobody acknowledged me for 5 minutes. they didn't do a scrub, massage, or anything. I am not super picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I get them done from a cheap place in center city, but this place is just not good at all. I have been here twice and they do a hell of a good job. I had a spa pedi & mani done in a hour and cost me 25 bucks. There Polish lasted on my hands for over 9 days. I am a mother of 2 so my hands are always washing and cleaning and I was amazed that my nail polish did not chip after 2 days. The girls are all nice and friendly and they dont rush on you. They take there time and get the job done right. I like to do my own nails because I'm never happy with the way they shape my nails and they never seem to care about my cuticules. I always felt that it was a waste of my money to go to a nail salon because I know that I can do better then they can cause they always rush. But with this place I was very satisfide. I will keep coming back to this place. So happy I gave them a chance. Trust me, I am very picky about my nail shape and my cuticules and so far so good becase they seem to care about there customers. So give them a try I know you'll be a satisfied customer. Throwing up" Duces" with so pretty nails read more

I stop here when I'm on a time crunch - it's close to work and I can fix a chip in my gel manicure or get a pedicure. Sometimes it's quick and looks great but other times the gel peels in less than a week and it takes over an hour for a simple gel manicure or pedicure - it's almost impossible to get both in a realistic timeframe. If it wasn't so convenient I'd probably go elsewhere (I do when I have time). read more

Not all the technicians here know how to do powder dip nails. I've had them done at other salons and never had a problem. But here, she put the top coat on, it was sticky and discolored. I pointed it out, she re-applied the top coat and tried to blame it on me, saying my nails were wet and I touched them? They also try to charge $5.00 for a special top coat. Other salons do not charge for powder dip top coat. Anyway, she proceeded to fix them. Then I left, by the time I got back to my office, they were discolored from the top coat again. It looked like dried, flaky Elmer's glue on top of color! I went back the next day and sensed an attitude because I wanted them fixed again. Someone else then did them and then they looked better, so I know I wasn't wrong. Needless to say, they all fell off after two weeks, so I won't be going back here. Powder dip is supposed to last a month. read more
