    Gel manicure
    Shelbi B.

Needed to get a quick gel manicure in during my lunch break and this place was right around the corner so I popped in. I didn't catch the name of who did my nails but it's definitely one of the best gel manicures I've gotten in a while. I hate when usually my nails are sharp on the ends after getting them done, but she made sure to check the tip of each nail and file off any sharp edges from the polish. It was $30 total which seems to be the typical price for gel manicure. I'll definitely be coming back since it's so convenient!

Being new in town, I'm on the hunt to find my new goto nail salon. Got a regular pedicure with my friend for $25 each, which I thought was a very reasonable price. I made an appointment an hour before coming in and was pleased with my experience. The place is clean and the service was friendly. My only complaint was the limited nail polish selection. I'll probably explore other salons in the area but definitely wouldn't mind coming back here if needed.

I haven't found a nail place in Philly since moving here, but after my experience at JFK nails I will be going back! I made an appointment 2 days prior for a gel manicure. When I arrived they took me right away. The women helping me was friendly and took her time! The quality of her work is amazing. It has been 18 days since I got the gel manicure and it has not chipped at all. I need to make another appointment because my nails are beginning to grow out! I highly recommend this business !!

    This cost me $40!!!

I spent $40 on sns powder and tips and got one of the most horrifying manicures of my life. I went there on a whim because my normal salon was booked and it literally looks worse than if I did them myself (PLEASE look at the photos I posted). The woman was rude and the manicure is scary. Needless to say, I won't be coming back

The worst. I chose this salon only based on it's location. I live a block away and was in need of a manicure for the weekend. After 5pm in the city it's hard to find a place that isn't packed let alone one that's open somewhat late. I went in for a basic manicure and wanted a white polish. The guy seemed annoyed but it's my hands and I'm paying for it so who cares. After he clipped and filed my nails I noticed that my thumb nail was crooked and uneven. If asked him to even it out and he did. He clipped my cuticles to the point that when he wiped my nails w/ alcohol before he polished them it hurt b/c the skin was broken. After he applied the base coat he noticed there was not enough polish. Instead of asking me if was ok with choosing a new color or even getting a different white polish, he diluted the polish. I inspected as best as if could while allowing my nails to dry. Once I left and was outside in natural light if noticed that my nails look terrible! We all know it's hard to paint your own nails with your non-dominant hand but if honestly believe if could have done a better job. You can clearly see where there is two coats and where there's not. Not to mention I haven't even had this manicure for 24 hours yet and the polish is chipped on majority of my nails. I guess this is one of those "you get what you pay for" moments when I realize that a $13.00 manicure is exactly that. My advice? Pay the extra money and go to Young's! They take great care of you and they have a loyalty card :)

Photo taken 15 mins after leaving the salon. Left hand.

Walk-in on a calm Saturday noon, for a gel mani and regular pedi, and brow wax, left 1.5 hours later. I didn't post pics of the pedi since they were worse than the mani, and you can imagine what that would look like. She skipped using the cuticle pusher, forgoed laying a towel on the work table, despite my request to please do so. I also didn't post pics of the brow wax since I ended up doing most of it myself with her tweezer and wax stick because the technician did not understand what I was saying to her and altogether skipped the underside and side of the brows. Judge the results for yourself. $47 total, exclusive of a 32% tip.

Vy is absolutely incredible and all of the staff who work there are so friendly and accommodating. I get an acrylic fill every three weeks and if it weren't for the fact that my nails grow quickly, I think the fills would last at least a couple weeks longer. I always end up asking Vy for her opinion on which color I should get and she nails it every time. I'm always getting compliments on not only the color, but the shape as well. I haven't gotten a pedicure here yet, but the chairs are always occupied and it seems like the staff really take their time and make it a really nice experience. I do have my standing appointment tonight, so maybe I'll see if they can fit me in for a pedicure, too! I can't recommend Les Fleurs enough. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere, they offer you a drink when you arrive, they have wonderful homemade scrubs. Thank you Vy and everyone at Les Fleurs!

I have been putting this off for a while, but I'm sad to say that I won't be going back to Allure…read more I have always been a walk in because I never know if I'll feel well on a given day and have the energy to get my nails done. I probably should have made an appointment for my last few visits, because I somehow always get Coco and she's just not good. She did a dip mani on me a few weeks ago - my first - that was so lumpy and thick that the cuticle edges kept catching on my hair and clothes. When I finally went back to have it removed and get a regular gel manicure instead, she rushed through my pedicure (no spa, just regular). While she was using the callus file she was looking around the salon and not at my heels, which she was sanding down to nothing. Barely any massage. The gel manicure was also rushed. She was using a worn file to shred the thick layers of dip powder - which she'd applied a few weeks ago - until my nail plates felt sore. You can see how the polish was applied. No cleaning up of the skin around my nails and a gap between the polish and cuticle. I didn't love the color (it definitely looked different on the swatch nail) but I just wanted to leave at that point. I walked out feeling like I wasted $40 plus tip. And now my nails are SO THIN. I'm sad because I really like Alice, Lily, June, and the gentleman who does the massages. I've been going here forever. I just can't keep wasting money on bad manicures. I also miss when they'd use a fresh file and buffer on each client, but now they're obviously reusing the ones they have into the ground.

First, he seemed to be giving a more aggressive massage than usual making it difficult for tech to paint my nails. Then he was massaging my lower back and actually "massaged" my bottom. He has never done this before. It was gross. I tried to move and he moved his hand up. Also, the tech I had -I don't know her name- she is the youngest one -again did a gel manicure that chipped within 2 days. I thought it was a fluke the first time but now I know it is her. She also rushes as though there is another customer waiting when there isn't. I was hoping for a different tech that did a better job on another visit but no such luck. The positive is they use plastic liners for foot tub and give you a cold water bottle.

He was very thorough with clipping my cuticles, shaping, cleaning and massaging my feet. My pedi was fairly priced and my total service time was about 1.5hrs. The massage chairs are very comfortable. I was so happy to be getting my nails done with the goal of coming back the next day to get a pedicure done before leaving for vacation on Saturday. I requested gel nail polish on my hands and regular polish on my toes. I was pissed 6 days later when the gel polish started peeling off my fingers. To make it worse, my pedicure with regular polish typically last 3-1/2 weeks before I need a new pedicure. The polish on my toes lasted 10 days and cracked. Then I had two different nail techs and both were rough so I did not enjoy the process. The product is terrible and I write this review primarily to remind myself where not to return. I had two back to back trips and unfortunately didn't have time to go to a new salon to get a fresh mani/pedi so I was raggedy on my second trip.
