Usually good service, very friendly, and less pricey than the competition. But they have got to drop the hard-sell upselling. I know when I want a polish change rather than a manicure, or regular polish rather than gel, or just a pedi and no mani. I get that times are tough, but lay off the hard sell. read more

I got my nails done on 5/17 and they convinced me to get dip powder since I they did a gel manicure before that did not last. Well I got the dip done and on Saturday 5/25 my nail chipped on one finger. Since it was a holiday weekend I got back to work and on my lunch went over to have the one nail fixed that was broken. (not to mention all of my other nails looked chipped through the polish) I was told that I have to pay for another dip. I told them that you guys said that it would last for 3 weeks and I just need this nail fixed and the lady started talking crazy and told me that my nails grew already and I have to pay full price. I am so irritated but needless to say I will not be back there. They definitely lost my business at first the guy asked me if I was sure I got my nails done there when I had my receipt in hand. read more

Terrible place! If I could give a zero star I would, and I usually don't write bad reviews. This is my second time back and my last. First time I was here, customer service was fine. The lady(owner) did ended up cutting my cuticles a few times, but it's fine I let it slide. In my end, I'm thinking maybe she can't really see that well so I didn't complain. And I still tipped her over 20%. Today I decided to get my nails done, my usually nail salon were booked. I'm pretty faithful when it comes to nail salons, I'll only go to a different spot if my nail girl is booked. And this is why i decided to come back here. They are usually always open and they always take walk ins. So heres my complaint. First complaint is that they do not sanitize their tools. And that is scary because they would use the same tools and equipments on everyone. Super unsanitary and unsafe. Secondly, keep in mind, they charge extra for EVERYTHING! I had a toe polish change and they charge $5 for gel polish removal, $2 for cut down. Which is understandable, so that wasn't something that really bothered me. What bothered me was when I got an acrylic refill and I simply asked her to shape my nails evenly after she applied acrylic on. She told me that would be $5 more. We're not even talking about changing the shape, just filing it to even my nails out. To me that's insane because that should be part of the refill process. I was talking to her politely and being respectful. I'm not sure if she(lady owner) was having a bad day but she proceeds to be very rude to me. These are her exact words, "your nail shapes are ugly, you're giving me more work. Don't come back here for refills again next time. I will have to charge you for a fullset . If you want me to file your nails that's extra." And I'm just asking her to file it a bit to make it even because my nails after she applied acrylic on were super lumpy and lopsided! I mentioned that, the first time I was here you filed them and never mentioned anything about the extra charges. So I don't know why you're telling me all this today. And I also mentioned that I always tip you well. Her response was "don't come back again, I don't care for your tips. I like good customers." I am never the type to be rude to someone, I come here to support their business because it's a family owned business and I respect the hustle. But after today, never again. You just lost a customer, regardless if you were having a bad day or not that's not how you treat a paying customers who still ended up tipping, despite the bad service. I work in the beauty industry so I would never not leave a tip no matter what. But she certainly did not deserved it. Also, my nail refill service from removing the polish to polishing my nails took less than 30 mins! It came out super bad. Wasted time and money at this establishment. I had to go out and buy polish to polish my own nails again. So this is my review for this place, try them at your own risk. Came here for a couple years then moved to S Philly. After trying the places there, I now make the commute up to Yuya bc it's the best.

Worst ever! Charged me extra for nails art, but she was so rushed when she did my nails - they don't even look even on both sides. Acrylic fell off after just a week. Please do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

If you walk down market st, you might miss this place. It looks really unassuming from the outside but I got a GREAT uv gel fill with gel polish on a Sunday. Without an appointment! $47 ($30 refill + $15 gel polish + $2 upcharge for mood polish) was a very fair price and the woman who did my nails made sure I knew about the price breakdown - no surprises! Took about 45 mins which is pretty fast in my book, and the shoulder massage at the end was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back. read more

What I love most about this place is the hours. I feel like they are always open. Open on Sundays and open on most holidays and open until 8pm every night. They won't rush you even if it is close to their closing time. Awesome pedicures. Not too rough and give a great foot massage. They also have a huge variety of colors. Update: So I realize that 3 weeks is the norm for a fill in but I've been busy and havent had time to go. Yesterday my thumbnail popped clean off and today the other one did too. Don't think that should've happened regardless of a fill in. Original review: I was on the fence because I searched and searched for a place near my job that had overall good reviews and it's always a nerve racking situation trying to find a decent nail salon that isn't crazy priced. Yuya was great! I went in for an Acrylic full set and the front desk convinced me to do gel instead, at first I thought it was an upsell but after I realized he was just being genuine because I expressed my concerns about acrylic removal. The woman who did my nails was nice and didn't rush me at all. Even gave me a somewhat rough massage lol and a nice hand massage at the end. Theygave me a discount card for my next visit and didn't pressure me for an obscene tip like other places do. I'm only giving 4 stars because one of my nails is slightly chipped after 2 days and I'm not sure if I carelessly did it or not. Definitely will be going back in 3 weeks. read more

I called before coming which was good because they took me last minute. I also brought my 7 yr old as she likes getting her nails painted. I got a pedicure (gel), manicure( dip) eye brow wax. My daughter got her mani &pedi (gel) cost $165!! They said my daughter services were $70!!!! Like wth she is 7 barely has nail beds and I'm sure the teenage girl who did her nails was not licensed. My best friend and I went after work to get a simple gel manicure & pedicure. My technician was great however about 2 hours after my service I went home and noticed hives on my wrist and hands. My friend also has a rash on her foot. Needless to say, they are not sanitary at all. All the tools used on me never came out of a sterilizer. They had already been sitting at the stations. I only ever go to 2 different nail salons, depending on where I'm currently closest too. I've always had a good experience with them. Even when one lady messed up my nails another lady, presumably the owner rushed in and got me fixed up and ready to leave in under 10 minutes! I haven't gotten a pedicure with them yet but I have gotten regular and gel manicures, and eyebrow waxing done here. Well worth the price. Gel manicure and eyebrow wax came out to $33 which considering other places was a good deal for me. I believe eyebrow wax is $7, but definitely under $10 though. read more

The place was pretty basic and though it was completely empty, the staff kept rushing me to pick a polish color and seemed to be in a big rush to get me in and out. The manicure included a wax dip, but the manicurist cut me while removing my cuticles and was not quick to either apologize or use an antibacterial. This was the best pedi I've ever had, no joke. Detail-oriented, careful, and perks like: hot stone massage on my legs, exfoliating beads, paraffin wax wrap on my heels, shoulder massage while my toes were drying... just to name a few. Wow!!! Seriously as good as it gets!! I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I'm new to Philly and I have been looking for my nail spa. You know the place that you always go to and that you love. I have been disappointed with every place I have gone to and was still looking for my place. I passed by Yu Ya Salon and Nail Spa on my way home from the gym today and thought i would see I'd they could fit me in. I showed up at 7:29 and they close at 7:30 but their open sign was still on so I stepped in to see if maybe they were staying open late. The cutest 7 year girl came up and greeted me. I asked her if they were staying open late and if they could do a manicure and a pedicure. She said yes and I chose my color. She got my water set up for me in my pedicure tub while the ladies finished on some other women that were there before me. In about 5 minutes a woman named Yan (she was awesome!!!) Came over and started doing my pedicure. She was so thorough and got all my dead skin off, also she did a exfoliating scrub on my legs while my feet were wrapped in saran wrap with a moisturizing gel was on my feet. And then she massaged! and boy did she massage. If you like pressure then Yan is for you. My foot and leg massage felt so amazing. And it was long!!!! When I thought for sure she was finished when went to a little heater and pulled out two hot stones and used those on my legs as a massaging tool for a second round of heaven. She painted my toes impeccably and then we moved to her nail station. She did the normal cut and shaping of my nails and then she took me over to a wax machine and dipped my hands in the hot wax. (All of this is just included in their mani and pedi, it must be the deluxe but it was only $30 cause they are having a 20% of sale). While the wax was drying she took me back over to the nail table and she massaged my neck and back. It felt so good! She peeled the wax off and did the massage on my hands and arms and then painted my nails. ( I am stickler for a good manicure and I am a perfectionist and very judgmental on the quality of nail painting and she was great. She painted all of my nail and none on the cuticles.) After the manicure was over I was taken over to the drying station and the little girl chatted me up while my nails were drying. After it was time to go the little girls mother Jada wrapped my toes in oil and saran wrap and helped my into my socks and sneakers. I told her what a great time I had and that I would def. be back. She said she was so happy and to please come back for a free polish change during the week cause she knows when you use your hands all the time the polish and start to chip after 5 days, and if that want enough they also have a VIP loyalty card, after 10 visits you get a free Manicure or equivalent value ($12) off of the service of your choice! I cannot not express how happy I am to have found my spot! They have waxing too and I cant wait to come back and see if that is just as good. :D read more

I feel like sometimes, with a few years of Yelping under my belt, I go into a new-to-me establishment crafting my review in my head. Call it a bad habit, but I can't help but notice things like lighting, atmosphere, service, products, etc. So when I showed up at Yuya I thought "oh it's a little chilly" and "why isn't the TV on?" and then they started my pedicure. And all of the sudden, my mind went blank. Instead of thinking about my pending review, I could only think "OH goodness, that feels wonderful" as I was massaged, buffed, scrubbed, polished, and pampered. $30 for a mani-pedi (not express by any means) is a STEAL, and you get 20% off with a Yelp check-in. Pretty solid selection of colors, the attention to detail was excellent. I normally like to don my shoes before my manicure so I don't have to attempt to tie laces with wet nails, but the employees didn't believe my toes were dry enough so, when it came time to go, they even helped me put on my shoes and socks. SUCH SERVICE! The music was a little weird (would have preferred just the radio, versus instrumental jazzy elevator music) and the TV was off, but the hot stones on my legs felt incredible, the massage on my back while I was getting the manicure relaxed my yoga-sore muscles, and the employees were incredibly attentive to my every need. I'll be back the next time I need to get my nails done, but with the quality job they did, I expect that won't be for a little while! read more

The outside of the place is easy to miss - it's in a block of sketchy looking cement front shops, surrounded by bodegas. Get past the front door & this place is THE BEST. I spent $25 on the best mani/pedi ever. The employees really took their time with their work; it didn't feel like they were rushing through any aspect of it. Got a wax treatment on my hands, a long massage on my legs & feet with hot stones (at one point I turned to my boyfriend & whispered, "Did we accidentally agree to pay extra for this?"), plus a massage on my hands & shoulders. Generally felt so much more lavish than a lot of the mani/pedis I pay the same price for. My pedi lasted for almost two weeks - mani was shorter, but to be expected. We went on a Saturday morning & there was no wait but many customers. Six stations for pedicures and six for manicures. Highly recommend this spot. Came to here to try out their eyebrow tinting service and I loved it. The process itself took about 10 minutes. The lady that performed the service was very knowledgeable about what eyebrow shape would work best with my face. I came out looking like a new person lol Its amazing how darkening and changing the shape of the eyebrows could totally transform a face. After living in Philly for 2 years and trying almost every nail salon and spa in and around Philly, I am SO happy to say I finally found my nail soul mate. The ambiance is so peaceful, clean, and just simply relaxing. Jada did my manicure and pedicure and I fell asleep! Her hands are so strong and she did such a thorough job. I walked in at 8:30pm and even though they close at that time, she took her time and did an EXCELLENT job! The massage, then the hot stone massage, then the parrafin hand treatment, then the neck and shoulder massage while the parrafin was drying up. All this is included in the manicure and pedicure price of $30!!!! I'm going back today to get a full body massage. She knows the pressure points and after my foot massage yesterday with the pedicure and manicure, I know I will be more relaxed than any spa I have ever been to. And trust me, I am an avid spa goer...this woman knows how to give a proper massage and has exceptionally strong hands for the tiny woman she is! Everyone working there are just lovely people who really work hard. I live on 21st and Market, but will go to this location only!!
