Worst set I've ever had done. I wanted a white and pink ombre with glitter. I told the nail tech and showed him a picture of exactly how i wanted the design to look. He convinced me to do dip powder because it is "healthy for your nails". I went with it without hesitation. When he finished I pointed out that he forgot to add the glitter. He then says no to me and says he can't put glitter on top of the dip powder for some reason which I did not know, and claims that I did not tell him at the beginning I wanted glitter and that next time i have to tell him. Not only did I tell him but I showed him pictures. The ombre did not look good at all and the dip powder is all lumpy. I paid $55 for the worst nails I've ever had. I normally pay $35 and looks way better than this. Overall very dissatisfied and will not return to nails first. read more

Nails First - worst manicure I've had. Supposed to be "ombre" and almond shaped. - Nail Salons Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

good service of eye browse wax. Nothing fancy, but good enough and reasonable price.

What a great CLEAN and friendly nail salon! They take walk-ins and have a short wait. Best thing to do is make an appointment to get the tech. you like best. Pedicure chairs massage and relax you. They even had the new colors for the no chip manicure. Great...Great...Great : ) read more

It's either a hit or miss with this salon. To start with. There's almost always a wait, atleast 5-10 minutes. Second, I've never seen them clean their tools, let alone have the ovens that sanitize the tools even on which is DISGUSTING. Third. Either you have someone who rushes and does a horrible job or someone who does a decent job. (I've had both). I stopped going there because I'd rather not risk getting an infection from the re-used dirty nail files they use. And their prices aren't that great. You get what you pay for. There are way better nail salons out there that actually sanitize their tools and do a good job every time. read more

Not impressed. Pedicure chairs are nice and I love the extra ledge on the foot baths. But really unhappy with the cleanliness of the instruments and watched them not sanitize. I'll be going elsewhere. read more

LOVE!!! I've been getting shelac on my nails for the past 6 months and have never had a better shelac manicure than here. My nail tech was Trishy (sp?) and she did an amazing job, and did so for $30 AND finished under an hour! One issue I've had with other nail techs is they aren't careful about getting the polish on your skin or cuticles, which makes the no-chip polish chip within a few days. When I was done here, not one nail had any polish on my skin or cuticles. I've also spent much more at other salons for shelac, and the nail tech hasn't done any other manicure things (cutting cuticles, hand massage, lotion) - but here for a very reasonable price I got everything! I will be coming back to this salon for sure - and will likely be bringing my wedding party here in a few months. I highly recommend!! read more

I called in appointment. When I arrived they had me sit down right away which was good. The nail technician I had, a young woman, was polite and very quiet but also seemed extremely rushed and often got up to do something else like answer the phone or grab utensils from a different station she was very distracted and that was kind of annoying. She talked to another woman who worked there for a little while while I sat and waited and must've scraped my nails about four times when one would've been quite enough. seemed like she was stalling quite a bit so that she could talk to her friend. It felt very rushed and I almost felt like me being there was annoying to her. She did a pretty good job on my nails however. Overall an OK experience they did my eyebrows as well and those turned out very good. Still unsure if I would go back because of how rushed I felt. read more

Their no-chip manicure is awesome. Many colors to choose from and it lasts; I work in retail so having the manicure last over 2 and a half weeks is great and worth the money. The staff is very friendly and I will definitely continue to get my nails done here. read more

Just went to this nail salon to get a simple acrylic soak off. the lady who did my nails didn't say one word to me the whole time, and didn't even buff my nails to be smooth or file the rough edges down after taking off the acrylic. I should've saved my $10 & soaked off my acrylic nails myself! read more

Great place, but bit dirty. Technicians do a great job, however I feel as if the place needs a good scrub.

Color selection was just ok, nothing really stood out. Also it was a little dirty. Wouldn't come back due to both reasons.

Its on OK place to go to.. i only walked out of there once happy with the job. I tried all of the tech in hopes to stick to one, but if they did ok job one time, next time they rushed and it was not even near ok. I came there regularly, brought all my girls there, recommended them to friends all in hopes they would care more and showed more respect... but i don't think they care really, not even the owner. If you are not happy with the job, its your damn fault.. that is their policy. Jusy pay and oh well who cares you are not happy. Won't be going back there for sure! read more

Great service, I didn't have to wait a long time to be taken care of. Fairly inexpensive for a nail salon. Highly recommend read more

Nails First - Clean facility - Nail Salons Near Me - Palatine, Illinois

This is my go to salon. All the technicians care greatly about you being satisfied with your services. Everyone is kind. The no chip manicure is high quality. I never make an appointment and am always seen in a timely fashion. read more

I typically get my nails done here and have never had a problem!! Ryan is always so welcoming and the staff is professional and kind.

First experience here and will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. Ryan at the front was very friendly and greeted me immediately. I ended up having to wait 15 minutes despite making an appointment- the store was very busy. The first red flag was when the lady doing my nails (Dana, I think?) kept resisting to do the design I showed her, saying it would be too expensive, even when I said the price was fine. I ended up asking to change the color after she applied the first coat on one hand, because it looked different than I expected on my hands. She made a very hostile remark, "Do not play with me this isn't easy work" and kept muttering angrily in her native tongue. I understand being frustrated to redo a coat but her attitude was unreasonable. I would have tipped her extra for the trouble had she not had this horrible attitude. The entire time, I felt like she just was trying to finish with me as soon as possible. If you are working in the service industry, having customer service skills is essential. Extremely disappointed. Not coming back. read more

Nails 1st is an amazing spa to get you nails or feet done. You can get designs or just any color. Dull or shrink, or texturized! I just had the best time there. They are friendly. That was amazing read more

This was my first time at Nails 1st. It was great! The entire salon was filled with customers and they accommodated everyone with ease. I would recommend making an appointment since they were so busy but they did take walk ins. They are very friendly, skilled and the salon was very clean! Remember to bring cash. They don't accept charge for the tip. read more

I love coming to this place, they always do a great job but also put you in a great mood! Place is pleasant and clean and you're always taken care of, even when you come in without appointment. Great customer treatment, always with a smile. Thank you for my beautiful mani pedi today after long day at work, I felt refreshed after I left read more

I come in occasionally for a full set acrylics and everytime I get it done here, I feel cheated on. The price is cheap and they're cheap for a reason. The tools and desks are very dirty and unsanitary. I told the nail technician to drill my nails very lightly because I have very thin nails but just complety ignored my request. She biased coloring my nails so I had to come home to refile and recolor it again on my own. I paid and tipped her almost 36% from the price of the full acrylic nails set before hand, and I wanted to take back my money after I saw how she painted my nails. If you have sensitive nails/skin, don't come here. They don't clean and keep their tools sanitary! read more

i have been going to nail salons on and off for about 15 years now. this is the best place i have ever been to in my entire life. vincent is the best nail tech hands down. my nails last forever, don't lift and don't crack or chip. i have never been so impressed and blown away. i will never go to any other nail salon ever again!!! read more

definitely do NOT recommend going there!!!! will not tell you the price of your nails then they overcharge you and claim every place does the same thing... VICKY did my nails and then blamed me for not knowing the price then i said oh well i guess i'll just go back to my other nail salon and she rudely said "yeah go back there" very unprofessional especially for a low grade manicure at that. definitely won't be back read more

I was definitely not impressed with this place, I was expecting much better based off of the reviews. I used to go to Perfect Nails in Buffalo Grove. I recently moved to Schaumburg and thought I would try Nails First since it is so close to where I live now but I will definitely be driving back to Buffalo Grove from now on. My friend and I had made appointments for 2:30 to get manicures and pedicures and and weren't finished until 4:30. I received a no-chip manicure and the manicurist applied a color different from what I had chosen. I definitely question the cleanliness of this place. I did not see any equipment come out of sterile packaging; I was going to get a wax but the waxing area looked filthy so I took a pass. Definitely not worth trying again. read more

This place is ok. The people seem to be nice and they have a huge selection of no chip colours. My concern is with the cleanliness, or lack thereof. Specifically, last time I was there and got a pedicure, I didn't see them wash and disinfect the basin before seating the next guest. Also, when I was there more recently, I didn't see them take the tools out of an autoclave so I'm not sure if they were sterilized or not. And the nail files they use are pretty worn out and beaten up. My nails look good but I'm not happy with their sanitation. read more

I have been going to nails first since they opened their Palatine location. I originally had gone to a salon called glamorous nails which was phenomenal, but they moved their location to Chicago. Nails first will do a great job if they are not busy. Otherwise they rush through your nails and don't do the best job. I also do not appreciate that I ALWAYS call ahead and make an appt., but Vincent and Cici take walk-ins even if they know they already have appointments scheduled. This means I generally wait 20 to 30 minutes to get my nails done. If I arrive on time they should also be curteous and prompt in keeping my appointment time. I now go to a new salon as I have moved away, but anytime I visit my parents, I stop in there and I still wait forever to have my nails done. read more

One of thee worst places I've experienced in my life..they were way too busy do I waited 30 minutes after my appointment to have my hands thrown in cold water to soak for another 20 minutes..I was rushed the whole time to have no attention spent on me when I told the lady I didn't like it she became more and more irritated till she told me she was done..They have no hot water and heat it up on tea kettles for pedicures..i only tried this place because of the high reviews to be highly disappointed.. read more

The workers there are bitches. Their service was OK but they would gossip about every customer and it was rude. The whole environment seemed gossipy and they were constantly keep talking in Korean or whatever language and making fun and laugh all the time about everyone. Talking about their service my nail got a air bubble in it and I told them to fix it and they annoyed and literally just added the basecoat again which did not get rid of the bubble I told her to add the nail polish color and the girl just give me attitude. The worst service I'm never going there. And if you're planning to go to though probably gossip about you too read more

I've been here multiple times to get acrylics and fills and I always leave happy. They do an amazing job on my nails. They really take their time and will listen to exactly what you say you want and will fix it for you when it's not quite right. The prices aren't bad either. Usually for these prices elsewhere, you get a quick rough job that ends up lifting or breaking within a week but at nails first, they do it so well that usually I only have to go in for a fill until after three weeks. read more

I went in for a fill. The tech told me she had to replace two nails that were coming off. The twon nails she removed did not come off easily, nor did they need to come off. It was incredibly painful when she was trying to pry my gel nail off. She left a gapping bloody hole in the middle of my nail. It will take months for my nail to heal. Then she proceeded to charge me an extra $10 for butchering mynail!!! I brought a friend with me, and they pushed a no chip for her. They did an okay job on hers, but cut her nails way too short. I will never go here again. She didn't even apologize for destroying my nail. read more

First time going here and I loved my nails! I had gotten acrylics removed (they did a great job removing them, and they gave me a manicure which I was very happy with! Great customer service and they are very patient which is nice because it helps one as a client be able to relax instead of feeling just as stressed and rushed as the person doing our nails. Love it here! read more

Great nail place!!! Very clean interior and very little of that awful smell. The pedicure was wonderful with a nice scrub, massage and callus removal. Would highly recommend. Even the staff was relatively friendly, unlike some places. read more

I am a regular. I have been getting acrylics with no chip polish for the last few months. After being sick for a month I was not able to get a fill and color change so when I went in a few nails had fallen off and the others were in bad shape. So they took of my nails and gave me a new set. It is already ver pricey here so a $5 take off fee and the $45 for a new set and no chip. That is $50 I am paying already ontop of at a 20% which I pay every time to the person who does my nails. When the woman asked me if I would like the square or rounded I said rounded like they were before on my old set, how I have gotten them every time. It was a different woman who has never done mine before but usually I like them thin and rounded to look natural. She then replied that it's a $5 fee to round them because it's more work and my nails are longer. I was not happy with this apparently new fee. Because I am already paying $45 for this set and tipping generously. I believe that the effort of filing my nails is well included in the price without the fee. Other salons in the area will put on a full set with no chip for $40 and do any shape or length no extra charge. My acrylics were not even that long to begin with, just barely past the tips of my fingers. I told the woman to not bother to paint my nails after she rounded them because I was not looking to pay $55 for my nails today. She did not charge me the rounding fee apparently and just charged me for a new set and taking off the old set so I left without polish. Yet I was still charged $40 and I tipped her 20%. Needless to say I will not be going back. She was nice just like the rest of the staff but it's not worth my money to pay $5 for her to file my nails ontop of their already high prices. read more

I was getting my nails done at a place in the local mall when I was told about Nails First. I went to check it out once and was amazed by the difference in service and outcome of my nails! I have been a loyal customer for 2 years now. Vincent and CiCi are wonderful along with their staff. I no longer have problems with lifting or cracking of my "pink and whites" and CiCi does an amazing job with my eyebrows! I have referred many friends and family here for it to be their one stop shop for nails, pedicures, and waxing. My brother even likes to go for a relaxing pedicure when he can. read more

if I could give it no stars or a negative -5 stars I would. this is absolutely the worst manicure I have ever gotten by far. I went in to get a fill on my acrylics with no chip on top like I normally do. All of my nails are different shapes and lengths and the neon yellow color I picked out N68 looked COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than it looked in the bottle. My nails look like bubbles and they are a horrid color and shape. I had asked to cut them down and they did, but so damn short that I can't even scratch my head. I absolutely hate this place with all my being and on top of that, I have a broken finger and asked the guy who was doing my nails to be careful but he disregarded what I had told him and worked with my finger the way he wanted to, to the point where I gasped and almost cried when he bended my broken finger back. another horrible aspect of this place was how long I was there. I WAS THERE FOR 2 AND A HALF HOURS. for the first 45 minutes I was just sitting while there were MANY free people that could have been doing my nails but didn't. the rest of the time I was there the man whoo was doing my nails was just sitting there while he tried to "perfect" them ever though they look like a bag of shit. I hate this place and I can't reiterate it enough. read more

I went here because I had received a gift certificate for a mani pedi as a birthday present from someone. I had my mom go with me- she seemed to have an ok experience with the lady she had, but the lady who did my nails was nasty, rude and mean the entire time. Not to mention when she did my manicure she was trying to rush so fast she was actually hurting me! I have never had a bad thing to say about a nail salon until then! I was looking forward to a relaxing experience for my birthday but instead was so upset by the service I received I was ready to cry! The work she did on my nails didn't even look that great. I might not be able to speak the language the ladies who work there speak but It was fairly obvious that the lady working with me was bad mouthing me the entire time to the lady next to her. She kept rolling her eyes and shaking her head at me- not to mention after I gave her the gift card as payment she got even worse with her service and even more mean. I didn't want to tip her until the end and she had a lot of opinions about that! I shouldn't have even tipped her period! if my mother wasn't with me I would've probably stormed out halfway through the appointment and said keep the gift card - it's not even worth it. I only went to this location because of a gift card and now I know I will never EVER go back!! read more
