I consider myself a semi-regular customer of DIF Nails; I've been going once every 3-4 months (for about 10 years now) to get body waxing and/or my nails done. The original owners ran a fairly modest, no-frills business. However, they recently sold the shop to move out of the country, and the new management seems to be more mindful about not wanting the place to look dated. They did a "soft" remodel last week and bought some new furniture/equipment and shifted the old stuff around. I appreciate the remodeling because I personally think that it was definitely a bit overdue. The place looks a lot more upscale now. The new management is also currently doing some new marketing promotions, which I like because that's something I don't think I ever saw the old management do so in my 10 years of coming to this salon. Overall, the experience (whether body waxing or getting nails done) seems a lot more professional/polished now, and I think I'll probably be returning a bit more often, especially if they keep running these good promotions. read more

Went to DIF nails, second time for DIP! The first lasted with tips 4 weeks . Techs were pleasant . I was shocked no one was there.

Almost / over a year later I revisited for a fill-in ($18). This place does a good job at giving thin, more natural looking acrylics which I like. My full-set was done at another nail salon & they came out thick & unnatural looking, but the male nail technician did an a great job at fixing them for the fill. He was attentive and even made sure to ask here and there while performing his tasks if I ever felt uncomfortable or hurt while shaving my nails down with his tools. The polish job isn't my favorite, it was done nicely but there are imperfections and I think it would have been nice to go in with a cotton swab or paper to rub the excess polish off the edges of my skin for a cleaner look. I'll definitely come back, I just haven't found the right nail salon yet compared to Californian nail salons but this is still much, much better than others. read more

I walked in to get a pedicure and they seemed annoyed. It was 6pm and they don't close until 8. Once the other person getting their nails done left, they tried to tell me to go outside in the snow in the flip flops they put on while you dry because they wanted to go home over an hour early. I am so upset i have naturally strong and long nails the nail technician was taking the electric nail filer trying to take off my nails!!!! I have been going to this salon for 10+ years and have never had a complaint. About two to three months ago I went for a "no chip" manicure as I always do. I noticed that all the employees were different people. When I asked it it was under new ownership, they said no just that owner was on vacation. If owner is on vacation, she doesn't take entire staff with her. Anyway, the person who did my nails did an awful job - every single nail cracked within a couple days. The nail polish seemed to be thin and watery but I accepted it. I lived with my cracked nails for a few weeks and went back to give them another chance. At this point the "manager" said yes salon is under new ownership (why did they lie the last time?) I picked a new color which was a medium pink. Within a couple of days, the color faded and it looked like a two-tone effect. Some of the nails had too much polish, most not enough. Looked horrible. I will never go to this salon again. read more

Absolutely the WORST looking nails I've had in 25 years!!! I have worn acrylic nails for 25 years. This nail technician strongly recommended I try "dip" nails. I refused, but she kept insisting. I gave in. After cutting my finger & drawing blood, she continued to dip my finger into the powder jar. Who knows how many times she has done this before my visit & then after my visit! The finished result on all my nails was bumpy with waves & dips in the surface. Uneven finish & crusty looking around the cuticles. $45 later I walked out!!! HORRIBLE!!! I will never return here & would encourage everyone else to look elsewhere. She also dropped a buffing tool on the floor, picked it up & continued to use it on my nails. GROSS, & incompetent Response to Owner's response: You never offered a redo of my nails. However, it took one hour & 45 minutes to complete the nasty job I received. You made no offer before I left, but charged the full price. I was on vacation & chose your location after reading positive reviews. MISTAKE! I am gone now, but would never return to your salon. It's been over 2 weeks since I got a no chip and they are still in tact. There is normal out growth but the polish hasn't chipped at all. I type on the computer about 8 hours a day, wash dishes, bathe a little one and even go swimming. With all that there were still no damages. My first time here. After visiting this salon I left with an Excellent no-chip French manicure. I called the same-day for a Saturday afternoon appointment. Not a problem they said just come by after 3:30. DIF is even open until 8 PM on Saturday. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. I did not like this places at all. I don't mind spending money on my nails when they are done well, but they charged me $55 for a basic set of acrylic nails. I even called in advance and told them exactly what I wanted and asked how much it would cost and I was told $45. When I went to pay I asked why my nails were more than I was quoted and was told it's because my nails are long. My nails may not be short but they are definitely not super long. So I guess they charged me $10 extra for mid length nails. Not only was the shape of my nails terrible, but 2 snapped off within less than a week. read more

They used to be good and professional when "Betty" was there, but she is gone on an extended vacation and it has become horrible. One of the technicians, "Lee" left my nails looking terrible and when I kindly told him they did not look good, he became angry and defensive instead of us discussing a solution. He spoke to others in the shop in another language and communicated to me only in very broken, limited English so I could not clearly understand what he was conveying. I tried to explain my nails did not look anything close to that which was on the color card, he was giving me "cat eye" nails and they looked awful when he was done. There were dark circles at the bottom of each nail because he did not know how to do it properly, then blamed me because I asked for a second coat. Someone else disgruntledly tried to resolve the issue by polishing over the dark circles, but they are still there. I will have to go and pay again to have someone else do my nails, but he shaped them badly so I don't know if it is even worth it. I am going on vacation next week and my nails will not look good. He also charged me for "repairing" two nails they did not put on correctly last two weeks that had broken off. I told him I should not pay because they did not last and had broken off. He charged me anyway and told me if I am unhappy don't come back, so I won't. There are too many good nail shops around to be treated that way. read more

Stopped in here because I had a few hours to kill after work and before another engagement. Was doing some yelping and looking for a nail place to get a full set acrylic no chip set. Came across Dif Nails and figured I would try it out. Came in and was greeted, asked what services I needed and was directed to the no chip colors. Waited a few mins then sat down with patty (I believe that was her name) she asked what shape I wanted, listened to me was quick and accurate my nail shape and length was great! She had taken me on a walk-in and her appointment showed up so She finished my nails and sent me to Sophia who did my polish, and hand massage! I still had plenty of time so I did their basic pedi, with Sophia! I had her do the no chip and that jumped the price of my pedi from $25 to $40.... $15 for no chip is a bit steep but I'll bite I wanted my toes and nails to match. She took her time and was very thorough, and the massage on feet and legs was great. Something the girls used that I hadn't seen before was a hourglass that they set for each leg. I always found that depending how busy they are you get rushed through the pampering part of a pedi and here you absolutely got your allotted time! read more

I have been going to DIF nails for years and have never had a problem. The male nail technician was so rude, it literally made me cry. He kept rolling his eyes & taking deep breaths when I would ask him to please make my nails look even. I ended up not liking my nails & asked them to please take them off & they proceeded to tell me I was being too picky. If I'm paying for a services, I expect to like the results & I was the only customer in there so they had the time to fix my nails they just did not want to. I actually got my nails done here before my wedding several years ago, and they very sweetly gave me a coupon for my next visit. No complaints! Worst pedicure ever. Took maybe 10 mins all together. She was very young and didn't clean up my feet at all. It was so bad I wanted to get up in the middle of it and just ask her to stop. My feet were still dry, toe nails were not filed evenly and she didn't even rub the lotion in for the message portion. All she did was put a hot towel over the lotion and wipe it off. The polish job she did was mediocre as well. Definitely not worth what they charge. Not sure if I mentioned this was my FIRST time here. Not a great first impression. On to no chip manicure.....HORRIBLE. I mean I can't even begin to describe how bad it was. The place was clean and the staff was quick in getting me in. It was not busy when I came in; there were 1-3 technicians not taking care of a client the whole time I was here. However, I have never received a worse dip powder manicure than I did here. Three nails chipped within 2 days. I was charged $10 for nail tips and they weren't even long or a special shape. The length was a couple millimeters longer than my nail bed. I asked for a completely square nail with no rounded edges. The technician did not shape my nails prior to putting the dip powder on so when he was done, they were the most flared out nails I've ever had. He tried to shape them but it was impossible to do so with the dip already on. I then got a Gel top coat, not a dip top coat so it began peeling off after a couple days. I was left with lumpy, flared out manicure that didn't last more than 3 days. I paid $60 total. This was my first time coming to this salon so I do not know what their other services are like. However, I will not be coming back and I do not recommend it if you're getting a dip powder manicure. Especially if you're getting tips, not worth the extra $10 charge. read more

I've been coming here for years, before it was even DIF Nails, so I'm pretty loyal to the place. The owners are friendly and they do a decent job on your nails, however I wouldn't say that this is the best place to go because they speed through it like crazy. I got a pedicure there yesterday and it was over super quickly, and the paint looks great but other than that it hardly looks like they did anything at all. My Ped Egg is more effective, honestly. We were also the only customers there, so I would have appreciated it if they were a little more thorough. I think they have been getting more careless as time goes on, because when they first reopened as DIF Nails they did an amazing job. It's only 33 dollars for a mani/pedi though, which is great. You really can't beat that price (if you can beat that price, please let me know! I'm interested). read more
