I should've known better. I'm typically skeptical of mall nail salons but against my better judgement and my desperation for a fill since I was visiting from out of town I went to this place anyway. All of the techs were older ladies, which was fine, but clearly they don't do any continuing education on the latest and greatest in this industry. In hindsight, I should've inquired more about several steps that I notice she had skipped but I was very exhausted from traveling. She didn't drill where my nails were lifted from my existing set nor did she drill towards the end where they typically smooth out the acrylic to remove any lumps and she didn't drill around my cuticles. So now $50 and 4 days later I have a nail that completely broke off and the rest look awful around the cuticles as they are growing out. I wish I hadn't jumped the gun to go here and had just waited until later that day. Just save your money or go somewhere else. read more

I went to Upscale on Saturday, and I was approached by several workers. I was looking for Binny who has been doing my nails for at least 6 months. every two weeks no chip. I was told he was off because he was ill. I asked if i could get a no-chip manicure and pedicure. No one seemed to want to help me. The workers where argue about who was going to do the manicure and pedicure. Me and my family being coming to this Nail salon for 6 months and everyone in there no who we are even Binny wife. His wife stated he was ill, and she did not offer to do my nails or pedicure. We Tip every time we come to the nail salon and she ignored me until she seem me on the phone and stated her husband was ill. I stay and one of the workers did my pedicure which was. terrible job. I did not stay for the no-chip manicure I took my business. somewhere else. To let you know I watch as people stop in for the same service I was asking for and the workers broke their necks to service them. All I saying there is a discreet in this salon when people of color come in. Please listen to me, go where your money is better patronized. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had, I was stuck with cold towels sitting on my legs for over a half an hour and the tech refused to take them off. She also cut one of my nails so short it's definitely going to be ingrown now. My right foot also never got to even sit in the water bath so the skin was never loosened up and made most of what she did painful. Decided to treat my daughter for a manicure and eyebrow wax. How about that for an eyebrow wax! Skin was burned and my daughter was in pain. Also, while getting a manicure her finger got cut and was bleeding for a minute. Definitely will never use this salon again. read more

The best! I waited for Lucy, my manicurist , to move here from her former salon for months! I did use another salon in the meantime. However, even though I brought the same products to the other salon,the polish didn't hold up. Additionally, Lucy takes her time with doing the cuticles just right! The salon is spotless. I struggle to write this review because I previously had such a good experience here. I unfortunately did not catch the name of the person who did my nails the first time I was at this salon. Really wish I had so that I can make sure to request her next time because she gave me the most beautiful nails! Here's why I'm giving three stars despite my first experience: this place is located about 45 minutes away from where I live and I first stumbled upon it while I happened to be at Woodfield mall and I felt like getting my nails done so when I saw this salon I said, why not? And I loved my nails so much that I drove out there to get them filled in. On a Friday. During rush hour. I was driving for an hour and a half but I thought it would be worth it because I really wanted that perfect manicure for my birthday the next day. When I get there it is around 7pm. I know they close at 9pm so I figured that was more than enough time for a fill. The woman who did my nails previously wasn't there, so a man begins working on my fill and I can tell he is rushing. He didn't even make sure that my nails were approximately the same length. Didn't work on my cuticles, didn't file them down so they're not bulky. This manicure is shit compared to my previous one. I wouldn't normally complain about little details but I was highly disappointed to receive a service that was so poor compared to my previous experience with them. It was a very uncomfortable experience too because he was rushing so much that he didn't take precaution when filing to not get my skin. He also seemed upset when I asked him to cut the length and change the color i originally chose (before he applied and polish to my nail. Didn't even remove the previous color completely so you can see a little green around the edges. I don't really like this so I'm thinking of just having the nails removed and I'll stick with going to this place only when I'm in the area and if the woman who did my previous nails is there instead of making the trip especially to see them. I'm attaching pics of my current nails (purple-ish) and my previous nails (green). Didn't get up close pics of the green nails, but they looked flawless, couldn't even tell they were not my nails and my cuticle was well taken care of. read more

The salon itself *looks* clean (the packets the tools are brought out in are not sealed which leads me to believe they just reuse the packets to make it look like they sterilize) but the quality isn't great. The man that did my mani pedi took forever for the most basic job. Red toes, pale fingers. Short, stumpy nails. I'm rather low maintenance. He ripped his way through my cuticles with a dull set of trimmers and slapped some lotion on my feet and calves. No massage. No scrub. My heels are still rough, nails are jagged. Fingernails started peeling the same day. They look like I did them myself in a hurry. Very disappointing. read more

Horrible. I had a cut on my foot and during my pedicure I cant tell u how many times she brushed it, and each time I flinched she laughed and said sorry. It was over 3 times, now I have to reopen the cut because its infected! Thanks Karla. Horrible, it looked soo bad- and that pedicure she had to paint over it with another color to make it even- it came out super gloopy and ugly and she only did 3 coats on the nails she felt looked bad (not on all the nails) - so my pedicure was a pediinfection. Thanks a lot. Not worth $28, for sure, didnt feel good- she spent only a little time taking care of my nails. I also got a manicure, and another manicurist did not even scrub under my nails to clean it out. So when I was letting my nails dry I saw thru my nails something dark, it was my dirt in my nails which she didnt clean at all. Too bad the manicure looked nice but the service that goes with it wasnt there the hand massage the cleaning out the nails, I mean really how can Lucy miss it, idk? I've only been here twice and each time was a 5 star treatment. Everyone is so kind and genuine . You can tell they care about customer service when they interact with their customers; apologizing for any wait and always offering beverages other than water. But what I like most is that they are clean and sanitary when it comes to their tools. Some of their tools like the pumice stone or filing blocks come in individual wrapped packages so you know it's definitely clean. The first time I had a nail tech named Lucy . She was very sweet and took her time. My no chip lasted awhile . My second visit I was even more impressed. I initially asked for a no chip mani and regular pedicure, but something came up where I only had time for no chip at that point. My nail tech ..I think his name was Vinny, assured me I can get both done at the same time so I can get out fast. I felt bad seeing the salon so busy , but they catered and definitely delivered! I had one sweet lady tech doing my pedicure while Vinny doing my manicure. Both manicure and pedicure turned out really nice! I am happy with my experience here :) read more

I came to get a fill and change the color of my nails, and had originally gotten them done at another salon and this salon amazed me. My nail tech was very precise about the shape of my nails after I told him about an issue I had with the shape of one of my nails from the prior salon. He constantly asked me if it was okay before moving on to the next step, which I appreciated. Staff is very welcoming and accommodating and the price was only $35. I really enjoyed my pedicure here!! Lucy was very sweet and did in fact treat me like family. I did the lavendar pedicure and it was so very enjoyable! I just happened to walk by and see a friendly smile and I was happy I stopped to check Upscale Nails out. Do not recommend this place at all. My mani pedi took 3 hours! After my pedicure the tech left to help another client while I waited 30 minutes for someone to start on my manicure. I picked a pastel pink color for my dip powder (I've picked similar shades at different salons with no problem) and it came out CLEAR. It was more of a tint than a color. I asked if this is the final color with obvious dissatisfaction on my face and the tech called someone else over. I told them this is clearly not the shade I picked because it turned out clear and to maybe tell future customers that the shade they're picking is not the actual color. They said they would re do them for me and asked me to pick another color. I then asked if they knew which ones come out clear and which have actual pigment and they did not know. The original color I wanted was a pastel pink and they told me I should do a darker color because they didn't know if the pinks would be clear or not. I was so upset at this point I just wanted a color that wasn't clear. On top of everything they didn't trim my cuticles or skin around my nails, they cut me twice, and messed up the polish twice on my thumb when checking if it was dry. The final color is not the same on all nails and there is a white outline at the tip of my nails because they filed it down before the top coat. Save your money and go somewhere else, especially if you plan on getting dip. read more

Not impressed with this nail salon. I did not feel like I got a manicure or pedicure. The technician did not cut my cuticles or nails at all during the manicure, he only used the machine to shape and file my nails. They barely cut the cuticles or took off any dead skin for the pedicure portion. I got powder dip nails done and they began to chip 4 days later. Very very poor quality of service. read more

My first time coming here for dip nails. Service was horrible, the guy who did my nails was careless didn't really take his time. I would tell him the top coat layers weren't covering my nail and then smushed my nail dip layer and didn't bother to fix it until I brought it to his attention. Overall poor experience, won't come again for sure. read more
