My mom called me this evening after choosing to get her nails done at…read morethis salon, and told me that, due to issues with the owner's POS system, indicating that her payment did not go through, the business owner detained my mom for 2 hours claiming that she was attempting to steal from his business. My mom, on the other hand, saw confirmation of payment on her side of the payment system, and proceeded to ensure the owner that she had in fact paid. He and his team then proceeded to harass her, including taking photos of her car, blocking the door for her to leave, and calling the cops on my mom. My mom was able to call my dad, asking for his help contacting the bank for confirmation that the payment went through. Even after the owner and cops spoke with the banker on the phone, the business owner continued to refuse to let my mom leave, saying that she was falsifying this call. I understand that your business relies on payment to ensure its ability to continue providing services. But, when working with local customers, it is beyond inappropriate to make accusations this intense and proceed to detain a customer, who was otherwise displaying complete compliance, because of an issue with your software. Despite my mom offering to go to the grocery store and pick up cash in order to fulfill her payment for a second time, the owner seemed insistent on maintaining his accusations, denying my mom the ability to rectify the situation. This is a horrible model for business, and I hope this location will close down, and be replaced promptly with a new salon, that actually treats their local customers with respect and dignity.
