As a man with very large feet, I consider myself very lucky that I found this salon. It's very comfortable. Everybody is extremely friendly and the price is perfect. I recommend coming here. The pedicure was completely relaxing, and my feet looked better than they had in years almost as if I was a newborn they offer a number of other services. I really tried to like this place but the last straw was when the owner tried to tell me the gel polish she was using was a brand new and that the nail company changed the color. I told her this is my usual color and I buy it all the time. It's normally pink nude with a white overtone but my nails looked like a yellowish white because the polish had gone bad. She should have fixed it and instead of lying to my face and say that the DND nail company changed the color when I know they didn't. It's just she didn't want to redo it or admit that the gel polish has gone bad/old. Won't be coming back. Place isn't very clean and they play I unrelaxing stuff on the TV. read more

Worst nails ever. I've been getting my nails done for 49 years. I was in town visiting and needed my nails done and a pedicure. Less than a week later I had fungus under my left index finger. Nails look horrible. Pedicure was bad. My toenails are looking bad and the gel polish looks bad and you don't even get a leg massage. This is my favorite nail place in Newbury Park. I usually get a gel manicure and regular pedicure...it's only $35.00. I would say that's a pretty good deal! I also never have any problems with the manicures I am given. I think an issue with all places is that your manicure depends on who you're getting it from. There are a handful of people that are just better than others. I've always gotten a good manicure from Mai and usually request her to do mine. She was recently unavailable for a walk-in so I got mine done by Yi. She was also very good! I would recommend both. I wouldn't say I have never had a disappointing manicure or pedicure from here. I've had a few girls apply a regular base coat under my gel manicure, which caused the gels to come off in just a few days!!! :( It's something to look out for... I have gone to Nails by Rose twice now, and both times I came away disappointed. The first time was a couple of years ago, I wanted acrylics done, and family/friends all suggested this location. I made an appointment a week in advance, and when I got there, it was hectic, and they couldn't find my appointment. They switched people on me mid-way through putting on my acrylics, and they used the wrong colors for the acrylics. The second visit was last week. My usual salon closed down during Covid, so I looked around and saw Nails By Rose again. It has been several years, and looking down the reviews on Google, it looks like the salon has changed quite a bit, and people are pleased with the results. I went in for a pedicure. The people were nice enough, and the pedicure was mainly okay, but the manicurist who worked on my pedicure cut back my toenail back into the nail bed (which hurt when it happened and still hurts), so now I'm fighting off an ingrown toenail. I feel like this is a big mistake to make, and I am frustrated this happened, and after two bad visits, I won't be returning to this salon. read more

Disappointed. I came in with a bunch of appointments made days in advance and with a party. Not only did it take 20 mins to even start the chair and water for the pedicure, but when they finally got to the manicure, the technician left a bare spot of gel top coat in the center of one of my nails. Came in after visiting Wildflower for a pedicure (have an event coming up this Saturday). Sign says "walk-ins welcome". So-I walked in. Place was 1/2 full. I picked my colors and sat down. Water was lukewarm/cold. -1 star. Upon getting the massage portion-I asked for an additional 10 minutes and the owner looks at her book and says "no". My nail tech says "I'm sorry. No."....... wait....I just offered you more money for a 10 mins massage and you said no?! -1 star. Like others have said-place is old and quite dirty. Dated. Most polishes look dry and old.-1 star Owner keeps looking back at me slightly glaring...? Not sure what I did to upset her but....? Price for spa is $18....let's see if they charge me extra for two toned nails. Not terribly impressed with this place. Price seems lower than elsewhere but being glared at is not enjoyable. Most likely won't come back. Sad really. I just blew a pretty chunk of change at Wildflower and would have really preferred to stay in one center. Their loss of a new client who has two other girls that like getting their nails done. out the window. I am writing this on behalf of my mother and cousin who just got back from getting a manicure. (She doesn't have a Yelp account). I write reviews to inform the consumer before going into an establishment. She detailed her experience and was very unhappy with the quality of the service. There was no massage at all, and was a rushed experience. She asked for a gradient gel and the worker did not know how to do it. She did it incorrectly, and the owner had to step in and take over. Overall, I consider my mother to be level-headed and extremely peaceful! I believe she is upset with this experience because they snapped at her and intermittently spoke to her coworkers in another language. There's no issue with diversity, but it seemed odd that it could not be said out loud and additionally, would be very rude when speaking in English. She did not have a relaxed and enjoyable experience. From viewing the other reviews, it appears that this happens frequently. Will not be coming back to this business, but I wish them the best of luck. read more

I was a walk in today and I got acrylic french tips. I had to wait 35 mins but that's because it was busy so it was no problem. The girl who did my nails was nice and gentle. It took about an hour and a half which is kind of long but she used that time to buff and clean the nails. Two of the nails on my left hand are crooked. That's the reason why I didn't give 5 stars. The price was very reasonable. I would probably still go here again even though a couple nails were crooked. read more

Got my first gel manicure here! My french gel mani cost only $25. CND Shellac was applied and then I placed my fingertips under a UV light. My nails look very, very pretty! They look very smooth and shiny, and somewhat thick. I really like that the white part is very big, instead of a thinly painted on line. I hope this lasts for a good few weeks! There is definitely a language barrier - at first I wanted glitter over my french mani and I mentioned it several times, but I don't think she understood that I wanted the glitter during that session. I'm fine without it though... I saw that the french gel mani by itself already looked very pretty. Might try the glitter in the future. Only complaint is that my technician was very hasty with cutting, filing, and shaping my nails. She nicked my left thumb a little bit with one of the tools. As for aesthetics, my nails are now of slightly varying lengths (most obvious are my pinky nails, when placed side by side). Also, most of my nails were cut slightly slanted and some of the white lines are inconsistent as well. However, these are things that other people wouldn't notice by just glancing at my nails and I WAS able to get out of there pretty quickly to go eat.... Would have given 3 stars, but for the great price, I'm okay with imperfectly shaped nails! They are still very pretty and I couldn't stop looking at them after they were done. The salon is decorated very nicely, with objects, artwork, and salon chairs in a brown and beige color scheme. I will most likely come back when I am in the area visiting a friend, and will get gel manicures again as long as they're safe (I've read some controversial and possibly alarming information!). read more

Dirty/unsanitary, loud, uncomfortable. I have gone here a few times over the years and have seen it deteriorate to the point of completely unacceptable. Upon arriving I was greeted quickly and told to choose a color. The selection of polishes happen to be on a wall next to the seating bench where clients wait to go in. There was another client sitting right in front of the polish so I could not get to the polish to choose my color. Awkward. Once I was seated in my pedicure chair, I noticed there was no place clean to set my purse (see photos). My chair was old and run down. It was also directly in front of the television which had the volume turned up loud, competing with the music coming from the front of the salon. Between the TV and the music, and everybody in the place chattering at once, it was WAY too much noise for me. Definitely not a relaxing pedicure. My pedicurist, Mai, along with other workers were more interested in the TV than their clients. Her neck was turned backwards to look at the TV for about half of my treatment. read more

Lady who did my nails did a great job, nice and sweet no complaints about her or the service she provided. Here is where things went wrong. She sat in the far back near the arch way. When I sat down the sanitizing bag with her trimming tools was already open, which made me feel uncomfortable yet I looked past it. Then as I got my nails done I watched each worker rinse the tools in the sink using the nail brush and the water from the little bowl they soak your hands in to clean their tools. They then go to the back counter, dry with a towel and place them in a fresh blue sanitizing bag, making it look like they are properly placing their tools in the UV sterilizing machine. Each and everyone of them did the same thing every time they were done with their customer. When I got up to leave no one else was in the store except the manager, who could have been the owner. At which time she tried to say they use a machine to sterilize and pointed out a machine which appeared to be have not been in use for sometime, by the amount of stuff that was in front of it. When I told her that was not true she proceeded to tell me that the night crew cleans the tools. I will not be going back, fingers crossed I don't get Hepatitis from that place. read more

Wow I was impressed. They stayed open half hour past closing on Friday because I called and asked for an appointment. I was a first time customer. I got a mani pedi gel. Mya (spelling?) was amazing. I knocked a nail twice during and she fixed it both times, without being rude or mad or talking about me to her coworkers. I will definitely be back! This is my new go to in Newbury Park. Nails by Ross is an awesome place to get a full spa treatment. They don't do massages but everything else. I swear..they all know me In there. They are exceptionally nice to me and my girlfriend and somehow always think we are the cutest thing ever together. Besides that I always have trouble finding a salon that is gentle and doesn't cut me. They are very gentle and take their time. Rose herself works there and is very warm and welcoming. Our nails and toes always look exceptional. The prices are also very reasonable!!! read more

Worst experience ever! I do not doubt my ability with any other nail tech there besides the very youngest. She didn't provide me with full spa pedicure. I will never be going back to this place. When we confronted Rose about it she started to argue back stating she didn't have to do my full spa if she cut my nails down short (btw short as in down to the nitty gritty which I did NOT ask for).
