I had been here 1 time before and loved how my nails came out even though at some moments they were to rough and it was uncomfortable. Thought I'd try them again and it was a huge mistake. I wanted to have my nails removed and a full set done because of the current length I didn't care for them being that short. I was told by the man the process to remove the nails would take to long and it's quicker to do a fill and the short length looks perfectly fine (not a single other customer In salon). He ended up sighing and saying ok and started clipping my nails even shorter to begin the process. Now I get my nails done often so in my mind I believed he was prepping to soak my nails. He then proceeded to clip my pinky nail and then pull it as if to pull off the nail from my natural nail. It hurt and ended up making my finger bleed so I told him to stop because he was going to try and continue. He then looked at my hand and said "so um I'm not exactly sure what to do at this point". I said you know what I will just go somewhere else thanks. :'( I was looking forward to getting my nails done for valentines since I dint have much me time. Well, ever since moving to Camarillo I have been on the hunt for a really good nail salon. I decided to try Natural Nails in Thousand Oaks. Boy, was that a waste of my time and energy. I went in there and I wanted a basic manicure and a basic pedicure. I had gel already on my toes not acrylic just gel. Every woman knows that when it's just gel, they take their drill with the little sand roller and sand it off. He barely touched my toes with the silver metal roller then told me that he had to soak them off. I looked up the pricing on soaking off and it runs up to $15. So I proceeded to ask him, why are you doing that? His response is "Oh it is to save your nail" Now I have been getting my nails done since I was 15 years old, you do not need to do that. Soy next remark was, " All you have to do is use the grinder with the sandpaper roller and it comes right off. There is no need to charge me for soaking off my gel. This is not acrylic." He proceeded to argue with me on how it needs to be done this way to protect my toenails. I looked at him and said very politely, my toe nails have been great using a drill for 26 years. Please do not do that. Just use the drill. He said well I will need to take off the rest of the acrylic on your fingernails anyway. I had maybe six little spots on each finger that had a little bit of acrylic left. You could get it off with a plastic tip which they use to put on acrylics, or some nippers. They were lifted already. So let me clarify then with you. You want to charge me $33 for a pedicure, $15 to soak off my gel toenail polish, then for a manicure $30 and a soak off fee as well. Which would be another $15. He said yes. That is when I took my foot out of the pedicure bowl and said thank you for your time. But I will be leaving now. He looked at me and was in complete shock. I looked at him and said I am not going to be hustled. That might work for some women but it doesn't work for me. I would never go back there. I would never recommend anybody to go especially with kids. read more

I have been to this salon twice. The salon I had been going to closed, and I was trying to find a place in Newbury Park that did a good job. My first stop was a disaster and cost me $100. Second place tried to undo the first disaster but the manicurist just didn't listen to me. My third stop was Natural Nails. Couldn't be happier. My husband bought me a Groupon for a gel manicure and deluxe pedicure. I made an appointment for 12:30 and waited 35 minuets to be seated for my pedicure. I told the lady helping me I had a Groupon right away. The lovely lady that did my pedicure kept reminding the staff that I was also getting a gel mani like 10 times. A good 30 minuets after my pedicure was complete, another lady had me move to a nail station and wait another 10 minuets. Finally, when I was about to say forget it and get up and leave, a lady came to do my nails. I don't think she used the color I chose. This shade definitely needs 3 coats, not 2. She was complaining about being tired and not feeling well the entire time she was doing my nails. She was really rough on my nails/ hands. I have a few bleeding cuticles! My gnarly feet needed some major TLC. I wear sandals and flip-flops all day / everyday and my tootsies were on the brink of being hideous. Figured I might as well have my hands done, too, so I opted for both a manicure and pedicure. These consisted of a hand/foot soak, nail shaping, cuticle trim, sugar scrub, paraffin wax, hot towel, aloe vera lotion, and nail polish. Lots of colors to choose from, by the way! Very good experience. Loved the results. Nail polish was put on quickly and efficiently. Filing and massage pressure was applied gently, but firmly. No bubbling or peeling at the onset. Minus 1 star because THERE WAS NO AIR CONDITIONING EVEN THOUGH THE TEMPERATURE WAS OVER 100 DEGREES. I second-guessed staying because the working conditions felt unsafe. I walked in from the hot weather outside --- but it was even WORSE INSIDE the salon due to lack of ventilation. The ladies offered me bottles of water to stay hydrated. I kept telling them to do the same --- since it was so freakin' hot in there, sweat was literally dripping from everyone's foreheads (both clients and workers). Ladies were nice. A bit quiet at first, but soon became chatty and outgoing. They made me feel so pampered. Half of the time, I don't think we even knew what each other was saying, but that added to the comedic aspect. Due to the language barrier, repeat yourself (or have them repeat) as many times as necessary. Lots of chairs, but there seemed to be many regulars and walk-ins, so the salon filled up fast. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. I called earlier to make an appointment for a manicure. The lady said I could come in right now so I headed over there. When I stepped in, the workers just stared at me and didn't even say hello. The manager (i'm assuming) looked at me and said "manicure or pedicure". Uh ok, no hello or introduction? They sat me down and an older lady started my manicure. She took off my previous gel and then continued with the manicure. This is when it went downhill. First of all, she only pushed back and cut my cuticles on one hand and I guess forgot the other. I brought it up and she rudely said that she did do them...even though i was watching her the WHOLE time. Whatever. I told her I wanted to keep my length because my nails take a really long time to grow back. She went ahead and filed it all the way down...that's when I started to get really angry. At the end of the polish, my nails looked like something I could have done at home. I left absolutely angry and frustrated. I will NEVER be coming back here. Recently I went in for a biogel manicure, the women who did my nails destroyed two of my nails. She filed them down so thin that now they are painful and extremely sensitive. I also asked for biogel instead of regular gel. Come to find out they used regular gel, and charged me the same price as biogel. UNBELIEVABLE! If I could give a zero I would. I understand that it was under quarantine circumstances, but it started when I waited after our appointment time for over and hour. I showed "Ken" (the presumed owner) a picture of exactly what I wanted. After we got into it they started looking nothing like the picture and I stood up for myself and decided that they might look better if we colored the whole nail instead of a French tip (which looked terrible) and I try not to be picky. Ken then started yelling at me, getting up in my friends face (breaking the 6ft covid 19 distance requirements) to call me crazy to my three other friends, and saying that I have no clue how to order nails. I then said this was unprofessional and that I am the customer paying $60 (after tip) and I just want all of us happy if I would ever come back to get my nails done here. Then he presumed to leave me and another lady had to not only calm Ken down, but also finish my nails. To add insult to injury, my other friends nails were so crooked and when she asked her to fix it the lady said that she did not know how to do it and she was "trying her best". Ken then comes back over to collect my money saying that he will take 5 dollars off due to the fact we did not do French tip. I then asked very politely how he was going to make up for the fact he belligerently yelled at me and my friends and didn't follow any of my wishes according to the picture I provided. He then started yelling at me again and attempted to touch my leg to "calm me down" (and I said don't touch me) and a different lady had to come calm Ken down. I eventually paid $40 for a nail job that should've been free after the terrible nail job and the abusive relations we had with the staff. I am sure this place makes some people happy. But if I could shut down any business I would shut down Natural Nails in Thousand Oaks. Please never go to a business that supports the verbal abuse of customers and blatantly ignores their wishes. read more

Great service! Loved my gel manicure and deluxe pedicure, ladies here are very professional and welcoming. The place is spotless and they have a very wide variety of colors. The massage they do when you have your pedicure is amazing, specially when they put the hot towels on your legs and feet afterwards. Edit: I stopped coming here because their gel manicure chips in less than a week and the staff is rude other than one lady.
