Since the weather has been nice the last couple days I was like hmmm... I should get my nails done! I have honestly been looking at this spot for the last couple weeks, and wasn't hesitant to commit because of all my previous bad experiences. Noe let me bring you to my visit yesterday with Trinity. I had seen her reviews online, and they were phenomenal (though I had went to other recommend ppl from reviews in the past and was left with terrible nails. So I was still nervous.. but hopeful) Trinity is WONDERFUL! She is the only person that works at the location, and you have her full attention during your appointment. She's super friendly, and chatty! And beyond that, my nails have never looked better. Legitimately the best manicure I have ever gotten.. EVER. My nails are perfect. Everything is even and the polish isn't caked on. She will ask you along the way how things are looking in the case you want anything adjusted too. We made a couple color swaps as we went, and they turned out better than the original idea! The location is small and quaint. Parking is all over, so you shouldn't have a problem with that unless maybe you go in a busy weekend day or something when there is something going on downtown. I did a full acrylic set (I had bare nails prior). It cost $97 for the set with the French tip & flower design ($97 does not include my tip!) Honestly SO worth it. I used to be a bi-weekly plain gel mani and gel pedi for years (for work reasons I was afraid to have any length/structure added - worried about chips/breaks). But I was getting tired of trying to find salons that fit my schedule, were reasonably priced and in Vancouver (lots of trips to portland). I wanted a nail tech/manicurist that I could build a long term business relationship with. Enter Shelby. After building a relationship and trust, Shelby was able to convince me to try her structured mani. Life changing!!! Yes, Shelby's structured mani and a gel pedi takes 3-4 hours (she is a perfectionist), and the cost is reflective of the quality of work (see her info for current pricing), but I have absolutely beautiful nails and my preferred length, with no chips/cracks/damage, for 4 full weeks! That was it for me and I have never been back to plain gel manis. As a busy working mom, I don't have the time for bi-weekly visits for nail appts. And who wants to try to get in on short notice when they damage their nails? I schedule in advance the time needed for Shelby to do the job right, and then I don't have to think about it for another 4 weeks! And once you look at how much you spend in both funds and time with bi-weekly appts for fills, you will see Shelby's more thorough 4 week schedule costs about the same. And while I like to keep my structured manis on the shorter side, Shelby will tailor clients length, shape and style to their particular tastes. My nails are always beautiful and she gets them done in 30 minutes! Why would anyone want to spend an hour getting your nails done and pay $70 for it? I pay $45 with tip. Nails and toes are under $100! It's all the same process, so why pay $70 plus for nails every 2 weeks? I'd rather show off those nails at a nice dinner or a trip to the beach. The pedicures are always good. Again, no frills. No scented sugar rubs, but the chair massage is nice and again I'm not spending $70! I've tried other salons. One tech takes the polish off, another preps and yet another applies the polish. I'm not paying everyone a tip! No way!! Tiffany is the manager here and she is always pleasant and kind quick to take reservations for anyone and work her schedule to fit your schedule.
