Is there a -star rating? This was my first time using this salon. I normally wouldn't leave a bad review, but I would hate for someone to go and leave the same way I did, especially, if they were children. I left this nail salon feeling like my toes were butchered. Nail techs need to be properly trained when using very sharp cuticle trimmers. I have never been cut like this before elsewhere and will never return. I had the best pedicure experience at Nails Art! I got the Deluxe Spa Pedicure and the level of care and attention was amazing. She was so attentive to my feet and gave such a relaxing foot massage. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and professional everything was. All the tools were sterilized, proper sanitation was followed, and hands were washed multiple times during the service. As someone who really notices hygiene, that made a big difference to me. The treatment included a sea salt scrub for exfoliation, a marine mask, and moisture therapy, and my feet felt incredibly soft afterwards. And my French tip pedicure came out SO cute and perfectly done. The workers were so sweet and welcoming, the salon ambiance is beautiful, and the massage chairs make the whole experience feel luxurious and relaxing. Sorry to have to give one star. I made an appointment for 2 teenagers to get pedicures. I never thought to ask for a price because no place that I have been in Salinas has charged more then $50.00 for ONE pedicure ( I pay 50.00 WITH a tip every 3 weeks someplace else so it's not like I am new to this) I dropped the girls off and they called 30 minutes later to say they were ready to be picked up. When I went in to pay Tammi ( the owner who did not do the service ) said the charge was $111.00. I questioned the charge because that seems high she said they asked for gel. The girls said "We didn't get gel" we just got the French tip polish. Never again..... and as other Yelp comments I should have drove the extra mile. I went in on a Monday with my 4 year old son for pedicures and they were very nice and accommodating! They did a great job and we're very patient with my son. I came here for years and was basically satisfied with the service. Recently I've felt compelled to share an experience with those of you considering tattooed brows, lips, liner etc. I had previously had my eyebrows tattooed and was very happy with the shape, color and size. Unfortunately they had faded and I decided to "shop local" and use Tami at Nails Art. She changed the shape of my brow and left the old faded tattoo to show below her new NOT improved one. When I questioned her about this, she said; "oh just use cover-up!" Well, that might be fine for some, but certainly not for me. I don't wear make up every day. Using cover-up every day isn't something I signed up for when I went to have my tattooed eyebrows touched up. Even after this incident I continued going to this nail salon. Each experience becoming less and less satisfying. I quit going to creative nails over a year ago. I have no regrets about finding another nail salon. Please see attached photo. I wish I had the option for a NO star rating. I called in advanced to make an appointment with the owner (Tammi) who scheduled me & confirmed my appointment. I arrive at the salon only to be notified by Johnny (employee) that Tammi forgot about my appointment and left home early. My appointment was scheduled at 5:30PM which means I had to leave work early to make it on time during peek traffic time. Total waste of MY time. I call Tammi the following day and she pretends she has no idea what I'm talking about. She then says she had me scheduled with someone else which is a total lie since when I got there all nail techs were busy assisting other clients and indicated they did NOT have time to do my nails. Tammi (owner) did not apologize or even acknowledged she forgot about appointment. For that reason I'm giving a negative review and they lost my business. I will not be coming back. read more

I came in for a dip manicure and the owner was so focused on what her employees were doing she wasn't paying attention when she was drilling/sanding down my nails and hurt me on multiple occasions. Her response was " oh that burns huh?" She was dipped my finger in the pigment one too many times and left my nails thick, crooked, lumpy. When I addressed the lumpyness and thickness and she rudly told me not to tell her how to do her job and she would tell me when she is finished. My 8 year old was in shocked when she snapped at me.. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I went to this nail salon for years, 2009 to 2019, then I left the area. It used to be amazing, I used to go to Tammy and Emily. I went in on Monday for a fill. I have never had such a terrible job. In a day and a half I have lost 2 nails with 2 more on their way out. When the first nail broke I tried to go in for a quick repair. I was told they were too busy for me and to make an appointment. If they're too busy for me, I'm too busy for them.. I will never go back. For $40 I expect more. I have found a new salon in the area. Shame on them for their extreme lack of quality. I have no idea what happened. read more

Honestly I went in to get my nails taken off and I've never experienced pain like I did here. I came in uninjured with my nails. I go to the salon to take them off to avoid struggling and causing injury to my nails. Well I was wrong. I kept saying oww that really hurt and blood running in my nail. I didn't hear once I'm so sorry for hurting you. Would you like a discount or something but no I had to sit there and endure the pain. Most of my nails were cut or bruised from the nail tech guy trying to take them off. He was rough. His nails were dirty and long which would get into your skin which I believe is so unsanitary. I was charged regular price. I had to request a bandaid as it was a deep cut. Worst experience ever. I'm sorry I'm never coming back here again. read more

We were nicely greeted as we walked into the shop, and taken back to a chair within 5 minutes. Can't get over the prices!! Just moved to the area 8 weeks ago from Southern California. Don't come here to get your eyebrows waxed they will hurt you. I've never ever experienced this before. So Horrible! I have wounds to prove it there is a scab near the corner of my eye and on top of my lid that stings and two smaller ones near the end of my eyebrow. I'm in pain every time I close my eye. Needed a pedicure and manicure in a pinch as I was visiting from out of state. They were able to take me immediately so I did appreciate that. Tammy did both services. I had dip powder on my nails so it needed to be removed. The removal method was extremely sloppy. She squirted solution in a clear bag, along with a piece of cotton and tied the bag around my hand. My whole hand was immersed in the removal liquid. There are better ways to do this but this was pure laziness. I've been getting my nails done for 25+ years so I do know that wrapping each individual nail is more time consuming. She then started on my pedicure. Her way of trimming cuticles is BRUTAL. She dug the tool into the edges of my nails and literally yanked the cuticle off. I will post a picture to show you how awful the result was. No finesse whatsoever. It was painful and I felt like I was cringing the whole time. Her massage and scrub method on my legs and feet was all of 30 seconds each, if that. I visibly inspected the nails to make sure they were straight and had her fix the ones that weren't. This made her uncomfortable as her face couldn't hide it. Almost like she was bothered that I was checking them. We then moved to the manicure station and I was also particular about the shape of the nails. She ultimately shaped them the way I liked them but seemed annoyed. The cuticle cutting on my hands wasn't as rough as it was on my feet but it wasn't gentle either. Everything she did was in a rush. No hand massage after the service either. $95 later and I couldn't wait to get out of there. I will never return. read more

I am still in shock...I use to go to this salon for years before moving away. I went back for my first time after 5 years for a gel manicure. Everyone remembered me it was nice. 2 days later my my nails started chipping. On day 4 after a 14 hr work shift I went in for a color change...they said it wasn't necessary. Instead Emily fixed the 3 chipped nails. I tipped her $20 as she was not the one who did the manicure when I walked out the 3 nails were a different color!!!!! When I went back in to complain they laughed and said come back anytime and they would fix them. NO effort to rectify the situation at that moment, not even an apology. 2 visits and $55 later, I have NEVER been so upset about a manicure in my life!! read more
