Once I explained what I had in my mind, she got it right away, and she did better than what I had imagined. I was little nervous at the beginning since it was my first time. But, Tammy made me feel easy and relaxed with her warming attitude and smiles. Not only she's a great nail artist, she's also a great story teller. My WONDERFUL nail tech left her prior location (for reasons we won't get into) and ended up at Amour. She's been doing my nails for over 18 years so I'll be darned if I'm not going to hunt her down. Nails Amour is tucked away in the corner of an older strip mall off Winchester Ave. I would never have looked twice at it if Tammy wasn't there. But word of mouth helped me locate her so off I went! At first glance the shop looks a bit cluttered and very small. It could use some updating but the "heart" here is clear. These ladies are warm and friendly and Cindy was a familiar face hadn't seen in years so that was an added bonus. Please give this little spot a try if you're looking for a great nail tech with reasonable no frills prices that cares about their customers and the quality of their work. I went here for the first time. However, I did not have a good experience. I asked for almond shaped nails and my nail tech, Yen was struggling to create the shape. She kept shaping it and it kept getting shorter and shorter. Her coworker had to come and shape the nail and even paint my nails. Yen painted my nails the wrong color and was arguing with me that it was the right color. But her coworker argued with her and said that Yen gave me the wrong color. I originally wanted a simple French tip nail design but unfortunately Yen couldn't do it. So I had to just get a full color. read more

My 13-year-old granddaughter stopped by the salon after school I had sent her some money to get her nails done since her birthday was the next day. When she got home she was crying and very upset because the ladies at the salon traded her bad. Just when she noticed that her nails were all lumpy her mom had to spend 2 hours filing them down so that she would have them be OK for school the next day. i've been here 3 times and honestly i really liked it! i started getting acrylics recently to stop my bad habit of picking my skin and the lady i see always does a great job! i have bad social anxiety and she seems to understand that i don't talk often so most of our appointments are very quiet, which is something i appreciate. not sure if she's always quiet or if it's just because i don't engage in small talk so keep that in mind. anyways there's always so many colors to choose from and it's a great place to go to for a basic decently priced manicure or pedicure. only 4 stars since it's not a luxury place and doesn't do complex nail art but for the prices and locations i love it :) read more

This is the worst , most unprofessional nail salon I've ever been too. My nail technician refused to fix my nails that SHE DID . I told The OWNER, yes the owner I wasn't satisfied with the color of two of my nails & she told the technician to fix my nails . After 10 minutes of continuous yelling at each other (yes , the technician and the owner of the salon , the nail tech repeated nice and clear in English "I am not fixing her nails !" Mind you they're both doing other clients pedicures while this is happening and people waiting . The owner comes up to me and says "she can't fix for you ". Then I decided to try out this salon one day while I was doing my laundry and got white and pink by Lisa. I absolutely LOVE her work!!! I've been getting my nails done for over 20 years now and I am very picky. She is fast, detailed and good quality products as my nails do not lift and last at least 3 weeks before needing a fill. I came here the other day with my girlfriend and her mom to get our nails done before her graduation and boy what a day that was. we didn't realize the time and before we knew it, it was 7 o'clock and pretty much every salon we knew was closed. we had almost given up hope of finding a place when we were driving down Winchester and saw that neon OPEN sign. hallelujah we had found somewhere to go! so we get in and all of the staff was so friendly and accommodating. It ended up taking quite some time for us all to finish, and I felt a little bad since we didn't end up leaving til some time after 10pm, but we all left happy with our manicures/pedicures and will most likely be returning in the future for their excellent service. so in short my only issue was how long it took, but they made up for it with how accommodating they were! :) read more

Mmmmm it's a hole in the wall, but sometimes these kind of places can be the best. I came a few times but after a couple of times I started to notice how dirty and unsanitary it was. I never seen the tools come out of those bluish disinfecting bags like other salons, that scared me the most. The location is sketchy already. My nails started to become thicker every time I came in for a fill, she never put a new set on or grind down the previous acrylic she would just slap some more on. After finally getting the set removed, the acrylic removed majority of my real nail because they were pretty much plastered on, they took forever to grow back. The service is meh. Location is sketchy. And the place is dirty. read more

This is my second time coming here and man I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!! I think her name is Tully but she took at least and hour and a half on my nails so my expectations where high. They where simple powder nails nice light nude/pink.. came out so beautiful charged me 50$ and because I was so pleased I gave her 10$ tip within two days my whole right hand all the nails where lifting by day 5 all nails popped off in perfect condition I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN! I have been going here since I moved to San José 2 years ago. The two sisters who run the place are wonderful and take time to always greet me by name when I arrive. I once had terrible tangles in my hair from laying in bed sick for a week and Sara patiently took the HOURS needed to get the tangles out, magically, without pain. I go here for my eyebrows, nails and occasional hair styles. If there is a wait, I never get bored because you can sift through every magazine you could think of or watch guilty pleasure TV. TIP: Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the slowest, so walking in without a wait is no problem. read more

I called in advance to make sure they do the glitter tips. She said yes they do. They do but when I got there she had maybe 5 colors, most salons have at least 10, then the only one pink color they had she said they were out. So I was already annoyed. She started working, I told her I needed to change the color of glitter obviously since they didn't have my color. She started sanding and sanding, burning my nails. She got off most of the old non glittered part, then had me stick my hand in nail polish remover in a tub. She asked if I wanted a new set and I said no there was nothing wrong with my old set. When I pulled my hand out of the tub all my tips were gone. She wanted me to put my second hand in there and I said no. She clearly had no idea what I wanted, I didn't want a new set and there was no way she could salvage my nails without having to glue new tips on. I got up and walked out. They are all good. They try to provide an environment to relax and enjoy the time there and they are receptive to new ideas and suggestions regarding new things that are available in other shops. I have gone here a number of times, as has a family friend. We have both been happy in the past. She has stopped going there recently because of problems. I am now thinking the same. I had a standard pedicure and manicure, no gel. I was pushed to have gel on the manicure multiple times. I said no. I don't know what she put on my nails, but 24 hours later they were still soft and could easily be dented. As you can imagine they were completely ruined. Dented, polish slid on nail, crushed, etc. by next day. This was done by someone that my friend says is new. I had not seen her before I can no longer recommend them. read more
