I've been to this salon several times over the last few years. It's pretty low key, I like that about it. The pedicure is usually quite nice. But I'm super disappointed in the gel manicures here. Had one the other day before leaving for a trip. The surface was very lumpy, there's paint on my cuticles and a quarter of my thumb nail lifted two days after the manicure. I am out of town now or I'd be back in demanding they re-do it. Sad waste of money and time. read more

Had a top notch pedicure here. They had a nice collection of Essie and OPI colors. They didn't rush through the pedicure, which I appreciate. It was an aesthetically pleasing environment with comfy chairs & chandeliers. Everything was clean and new. The staff were friendly. $35 + tip for a pedicure. My new nail place! I've gotten shellac here three time now and I am very happy with my nails. They are the perfect square shape that I like and the shellac has lasted me 14 days each time. What I really enjoy about Nail 07 is the atmosphere. They always have such good music playing, I have never had to wait when I walk-in, and the place is really clean and cute! They always offer you green tea and water. A couple things that prevented me from giving 5 stars: They do not have as many color options as some other nail salons, cash tips only, and the most recent time I came here I brought my mom and our manicurists were chatting with each other so loudly and constantly that I actually could not a word my mom said to me. Bummer. Oh! I noticed a group had brought champagne and made mimosas during their manicures. Such a cool idea and I would love to try that some time! read more

I have been going to this salon for years. They keep increasing their prices, and while at first I was OK with it (they all do a great job), todays visit was my last straw. I had 2 nails that needed fixing and I was charged $7! I was there just 2 weeks ago and my nail technician failed to tell me of this new cost. I'm so tired of this place consistently having various prices for their services, and no one being able to explain the charges. I paid $50 today just for a shellac color change. That's ridiculous. This is my go to nail salon because they don't do acrylics and it doesn't smell like chemicals. I've always had a great experience here, always with a different nail tech. My only concern is that many customers and some staff do not wear masks during this time of Covid. Getting your nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience, but sadly I was very tense as there was a large birthday party of women there, and none were wearing masks. This place is TRASH and they stole money from me. I made a Mother's Day reservation for my wife and Mother. I came in days early and pre-paid for their appointment and reconfirmed their appointment. They arrived on Mother's Day morning and were told that they had no appointment. They were then told that "maybe they could fit them in" and they waited for 45 MINUTES until they were told that they couldn't fit them in. I immediately arrived to complain and get a refund. The manager on duty was belligerent and lied to me - he claimed there is no way to process a refund on a Sunday and I would have to come in on Monday. I complained loudly - because I've worked retail and I know that was a lie - and he called THE COPS because he wouldn't process the refund. The police were embarrassed that they had to show up and just shrugged because the idiot had never asked me to leave. This place is full of crooks. I have never been treated so rudely at a salon. I called and made an appointment for a manicure. When I arrived at my scheduled time, they made me wait for an hour. I watched walkins go ahead of me over and over again. When I tried to raise this issue to the manager, he was so dismissive and rude. Finally, one of the techs wandered over and said "why are you here again?" They had no idea I had an appointment and seemed surprised that I wasn't taken back immediately. I've never had an issue with any of the women, but I typically call and book an appointment with Sam because he is the best. I've had manicures, pedicures, and shellac manicures. All have looked good and have been good services except that one time. The place is clean and the prices are comparable to other salons in the area. You can walk in or make an appointment, and I've never had to wait when I've walked in. The parking structure helps with parking, but there's the coveted free parking spot for customers up to a half hour, which is perfect for that quick manicure if you can score the spot. read more

I had been coming here for weekly manicures but the $20 price had been keeping me away. Now I can say I will never go back and beware of old thick nail polish. Last week, July 7th, I went in for a manicure and the polish had to be thinned out, usually a sign of old polish, but the manicure was nice. Yesterday July 14th, I went for a simple polish change and the polish was also thick ( they thinned it out) and it slid to the sides of my nails as it dried. The young manicurist seemed concerned so she had an experience person correct the problem. The top coat was sticky and thick and never quite dried. I called the Birmingham location thinking I would talk to the owners or a manager. Vince in Birmingham told me they will make it right and to come in at 5 after work on Monday. I called to make sure I was on their appointment book with someone and I was told they would absolutely not redo my polish and they are short staffed as well as the owners are on vacation. I went and bought my own fresh new bottles of Essie polish and Antella tells me they will not and don't redo polish changes and that the polish was not old. If it was not old why did it have to be thinned out and the Polish I used last week was thrown out after thinning it because it was old. I STRONGLY suggest not going to Nails 07 as they do not stand behind their over priced manicures and have very poor customer service. read more

Nice girl but she totally filled down my artificial nail on one of my toes, so now it's smaller than the natural ones in which brings attention to it again and it doesn't grow! She did a great job and paid special attention to a nail that has had frequent injury to the cuticle area. Parking was easy. They offer a few spots out front aside from the metered city options. They offer beverages upon arrival and the entire space appears very clean. Music was comfortable level and conversation was pleasant. Vee was super sweet, too. I discovered them after a beautiful Saturday spent working in the yard, searching for a nail salon on a SUNDAY that would fix the mess I created before some major business meetings I needed to look professional for the following week. Nails 07 not only fit the schedule but they did a really good job. I regularly return for a pedi, shellac and eyebrow wax. In and out in two hours feeling rested and confident. I have never had a bad experience there, and now book my appointments with Kata. If you are into the pedicure for the massage, WOW, she is the best. I only gave them 4 stars for two reasons: Their prices are a high compared to others, but.. they do walk in's on a Sunday. Their pedi sinks are always cold on the bottom. I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment for the Hollywood Pedicure and they told me to just come in. I was able to sit down with Kaylee immediately, so we were off to a good start. But when I got to the pedicure station, I noticed they didn't have any massage chairs. This may be a plus for some people, but I love the massage during my pedicures and was really disappointed that they didn't have it. So then I told Kaylee I wanted the Hollywood Pedicure and she had no idea what I was talking about. I told her it was on their website and she still looked at me like I was crazy. She finally went and got me a list of their services and not only are all the names of the services different, the actual services were different. So I settled for a regular pedicure with a paraffin wax. Kaylee did a wonderful job on the pedicure and although she wasn't too talkative, she did consistently check in to make sure I was comfortable. When it came time for the paraffin wax, it seemed like she hadn't done it too much and it was way too hot when I first put my foot in. She did apologize and it wasn't like I got burned or anything, so I just chalked that up to inexperience. When they gave my the check, it said "cash only tips." Like I said, Kaylee did a really good job and I normally tip really well, but I was counting on putting the tip on my card. I only had a few dollars with me to tip her with, so I felt awful that she didn't get the tip she deserved from me. Overall, this salon was clean, staff was friendly, and the service was good. But I was really disappointed that I chose this salon based on services their website advertises only to find they don't do them. I could've gone somewhere closer to my house if I just wanted a regular pedicure and paraffin... and I could've sat in a massage chair while I got it! However, upon leaving I can't shake off the skeevyness of the cash policy of the ownership here. In light of recent news about the treatment of nail techs in salons, any business that wants to hide it's financials is worrysome. They push cash really hard. They will tell you that they cannot accept credit even though they eventually reluctantly do. They encourage use of the ATM on-site. That feels all kinds of sketchy. You are a modern brick & mortar business in 2015. You can handle some credit card fees, and record your income & employee pay with a proper paper trail. read more

I've been to the Royal Oak location of Nails 07 twice now and plan to make it the one nail salon that I will use. Over the years, I've tried a national chain and several small local nail shops, so I can say from experience that Nails 07 is the real deal. First, the decor and atmosphere. This location just opened a few months ago, so everything is new. This is a relaxing place. Quiet music with no blaring TVs or crappy radio. It's spacious - you're not crammed in. Rather than sitting at separate table for manicures, customers are seated at a long bar, with the nail techs seated on the other side. You can sit next to your friend. The chairs are very comfortable. The bar is made out of a pretty material that has colored glass bits embedded in it. The whole salon is so clean that surfaces sparkle. The bathroom is clean, spacious and nicely decorated. To sum it up: this is not a shabby, run-down neighborhood place where you wince from the overhead fluorescent lights and suspect "sanitization" routines. In fact, it got awards two years running from Allure magazine. (Parking is a snap - no small thing in Royal Oak.) Next, the quality of the work. So far in my two visits to Nails, 07 I've had a gel manicure, a pedicure and a lower leg wax. Mia and Michelle each did part of the manicure, Mia did my pedicure and Serena did the waxing. EVERY SINGLE THING WAS PERFECT. I'm a stickler for perfection in manicures, pedicures and waxes, I've had good outcomes and bad ones, so trust me, I know PERFECT. Perfect shaping, perfect cuticles, perfect polish application. Plus, they have a huge selection of nail polishes, obsessively organized by brand and color. Mia even recommended a polish color to match my sweater and it was a spot-on great choice. An example of the attention to detail and comfort is what the techs do with the used cotton pieces that were soaked in stinky nail polish remover: instead of throwing them in a garbage where they fill the room with headache-making smells, they put them into little bottles and close the top tightly on the bottle. Or how as my toes were drying after the pedicure, Mia put my shoes and stockings in a plastic bag so I could easily carry them to my car. Or how Serena closely scanned my legs several times to catch any stray hairs that hadn't been pulled out by the wax, using a tweezer to grab those. Did I mention that waxing services are performed in private rooms with doors that close? Yes, indeed. No flimsy curtain between your lady parts and curious eyes, but instead, a door. The little massage that accompanies the pedicure and manicure was not the longest or best that I've had but it was fine. My guess is that once I've become a regular, I could ask for more pressure. Finally, the prices. The prices were a dollar higher than what I've paid in shabby neighborhood places, which seems completely reasonable given what you get in terms of amenities and professionalism. Currently, there is a gift card sale where you get a big discount if you purchase a pedicure and manicure at the same time. The bottom line: Royal Oak's Nails 07 is a great place to relax, get a little pampering and have your claws transformed into perfect, gleaming nails. Highly recommended. read more

I am a through and through American Express girl I can't stand it when people do not take American Express so I'm sorry but I have to take at least one star off for not taking American Express. I recently moved to the area and this is the third nail salon I've tried in Royal Oak, and I have a feeling it will be the last. I went here for a manicure and was very impressed by the beautiful, high end, spotless facilities. They have excellent customer service, being able to fit me in on a busy Saturday, and it's nice that they have reserved parking spaces for customers. They also provide tea and bottled water during the service. Being pregnant, I really appreciated that the chairs were very comfortable and that they use more natural products like non-acetone polish remover so I don't have to inhale harmful fumes.They have a great selection of Essie, Zoya and OPI nail polishes, all of which are safe during pregnancy. My tech was very detail oriented and did a great job overall, including a nice hand massage, which is something I really enjoy. The manicure price was $18 and they said a mani/pedi is $45. You can pay by credit card, including tipping on the card. The prices are slightly higher than some other places in the area, but I feel it was worth it for the experience and quality of products and service. This nail salon is so close to my house so I like to be able to walk there. I gave this place couple of chances but I haven't been fully satisfied here. Yes, the atmosphere is awesome and the seats are so comfortable/cozy! My complaints are they are too quick on time with my nails and toe nails. I never felt like it was completed. My cuticles wasn't cut as much I hope they would. And, my favorite part about getting my nails done is the massage and honestly, i have been disappointed because they would massage my hand and feet for seriously less than 1 minute whereas I know other places do it for 3-5 minutes... Will NEVER go back here again! My husband and I were here on Friday evening a half hour before they closed and which we did make an appointment for a pedicure . It seemed like the girls who were servicing us were somewhat in a hurry. It says that if you're pedicure takes less than 30 minutes it is very well for my husband she did it in about 20 minutes but he did not say anything. Needless to say he ended up getting an infection in his toe from a cut that the girl ended up giving him during his pedicure. I am so livid and will never be coming back here again. They not only gave him an infection but I have to cut along the sides of my feet where she was scraping off dead skin. I have been to Nails 07 for an eyebrow wax and a mani/pedi. I was very happy with my eyebrows (I don't like pencil thin and the woman totally understood) and am fairly happy with my mani/pedi. They had a great selection of polish and did a great job of scrubbing, filing and shaping my nails. My only con is my cuticles (particularly on my hands). Granted I am picky about them, I feel like there could have been a lot more clipped off. Overall, the salon is really beautiful, the chairs are big and comfy and it's decorated really nice. This review is on the Royal Oak salon. Gorgeous salon. Very peaceful and beautiful. It in no way looks like the typical nail salon, with half broken massage chairs, TVs on random channels, etc. The women were very friendly, and it was also a very diverse environment. The pedicure and manicure were both fantastic, and for the experience, the price was not bad. I was very happy and will return again. The only cons: my manicure did not last at all. Though I got a beautiful design and they looked nice, it started chipping in less than a week. Maybe next time I'll opt for gel. Also, the woman who was helping me got sick during my manicure (which I would never be upset or blame her for being sick) but the woman who took over was not as friendly and rushed through the rest of my manicure. read more

Just got home from my first mani/pedi at Nails 07, I'll be back. It was open and seemed clean, the parking garage was empty for a Saturday morning at 11:30 and I was surprised that the salon wasn't busier. I picked out my colors and relaxed in their comfortable pedi chairs. The pedi was nice, my tech wasn't rushed and gave me a scrub and nice massage (lasting about as long as other salons). The polish went on fine, but the cleanup wasn't great - I had polish between my toes when I got home. About the same for the mani, not rushed, nice massage and she did fine on the shaping and filing. My cuticles weren't really addressed properly as she removed the ones at the base of the nail but ignored the sides. As a result I wasn't thrilled with how the polish looked. There were also areas of polish that I had to ask her to remove, and no cuticle oil or anything so I left with my hands drier than when I arrived (I have dry skin and the hand washing after the massage didn't help). I had to apply my own cuticle oil when I got home. Overall a good experience for $45. I had called ahead to make the appointment thinking they'd be busy and they seemed surprised; walk-ins must be the norm. I'm picky about my polish and she fixed a toe smudge and was very nice, but I think I'll try another tech next time. I'm hoping this will be my new go-to nail salon. read more

I used to love this place I don't know why but they Seem to be going downhill fast! The last 2 times there I've had issues. Normally when I get shellac I expect my nails to be brittle. Normally their recovered within a week or 2 but the last time I got a shellac there it took 4 to 5 weeks for my poor nails to recover. We went here as a bridal party for nails... Great place... Perfect for bridal parties or parties or large groups in general... Really great setup, a lot of techs and chairs for nails and toes... Great color selection for gel and for regular. Place seemed clean and is nicely decorated. Staff was pleasant enough... Some of the people were a bit hard to talk to or seemed a little bit like they were forcing services at additional cost... The one downfall is the parking situation... They only have a couple spots and the rest of the lot is paid. I recommend this place fully for groups or even as your regular salon. read more
