I moved to the Bay Area from out of state in October of 2025, I was stressed about finding a new nail salon because I am very particular about my nails. Nails Lab was the first and only salon I needed to try. From the moment I stepped into the salon, I knew I had found my new nail salon. The salon is extremely clean, tidy, and aesthetic. The space feels calm, relaxing and luxurious - my head instantly clears from anything going on in my life and I feel relaxed as soon as I stepped in. I am always welcomed with a friendly and smiley face, always offered water, coffee and snacks. Marina has always been my nail tech and she is delightful; Marina is experience and quality focused, she makes sure you are comfortable at all times, and really takes her time with your nails. She pays attention to every detail, and it only took one time of me explaining how I like my nails. One thing I value a lot when it comes to my nails is consistency, and I get just that with Marina. Perfect nails from shape, color, thinness and clean cuticles each time. Another thing I love is that my nails always last 4 weeks without me feeling desperate to get my nails done because of how they look, outside of growth, they always remain looking great. I have posted pictures of my nails, including how they look after 4/5 weeks. I really cannot recommend Nails Lab enough. This is one of my favorite maintenance appointments and I look forward to it every month. The other place I went to nipped my cuticles and I ended having scabs on almost all my fingers. My nails also burned when it was getting filed and under the light, but this did not happen with Marina! I am already so excited for my next appointment. It has only been two weeks and my nails are still intact, no lifting, no chipping. Marina was gentle but confident in what she does. Before the appointment, I messaged the owner to ask if they had non-staining top coats (I'm a hairstylist and hair color stains my nails). She said they didn't have it but immediately ordered it and would have it ready for the next appointment! I have never had a nail salon offer to do that, so that was a really nice gesture from the owner. 100% recommend this place for hard gel manicures!

I asked if she would be able to do it and even though my nails were on the shorter side, there was still a good amount of growth and I agreed to do a thin French tip (I will attach a photo of how my natural nails looked the day before). I know the French tip can be done on that length because I've gotten it before. I also asked her to not cut my nails so my natural nails are showing at the bottom.. I think it's from the over filing.. because before the white was painted on it was fine and I saw the base color painted fully on. I feel like this was the same issue with my previous review. I wish I just went with a color and didn't do French tip.. Anyways.. I do appreciate Svetlana's hard work with the time and effort she spent on my manicure and pedicure. I just wish my experiences at VS nail studio was different. I always see the posts on Instagram and majority of the reviews on Yelp is good but I don't know what it is for when it is my turn. And I don't want to really go back to have it being taken off and redone again because my nails are super sensitive and the drilling part / cutting cuticles gives me a lot of anxiety. I'll leave my photos from today's manicure and I circled my nails showing. I didn't see it at the shop because I was more focused on making sure the French tip parts were even as some weren't and I had to ask for it to be slightly thicker as 1-2 were too thin. But I'm also scared as my nails grow, is it going to grow uneven.. my nails are literally sticking out and the other half has product on top of it.. so I'm not too sure.
