Love this place! Was looking for a more luxurious spot to get a pedicure... especially being pregnant... self care is sooo important! This nail salon is incredible and def sets itself apart from others: + Reservation only! As a result, they see you in a timely fashion and the ambiance is never hectic. + Relaxing and clean atmosphere. Dimmed lights, massage chairs, super clean. Feels like you are at a spa + Friendly service! Thuy and team are soooo sweet. You will be offered water, tea or coffee upon entering and they are just the kindest people. They offer regular and gel polish, so keep that in mind! As a result, no strong chemical smells which is great for pregnant people or those sensitive to smell! read more

I called to book an appointment 4 days in advance and they told me yes they can take me in just need me to send them a text with the details. I didn't get any response from them so I texted again before my appointment and now they're letting me know they're fully booked. Then why tell me you can take me in? Why does this place confirm a day before your appointment if they can take you in or not AFTER they gave you a verbal confirmation. Seems like they forgot about my appointment and try to justify it by telling me "I have customers booking one year in advance " read more

Anna was so sweet and did a gel manicure set for me. She did three layers since the color I picked was sheer. They had hot stones with lotion which was applied at the end. Amazing nail salon, the best I've been to in the bay and the cleanliness, efficiency, and quality of the nails I got is unmatched. Would recommend! read more

Thu and Anna are simply the best! I came here for my first ever salon mani/pedi and left feeling so happy. The space is very clean and sanitary feeling, and there's no strong smell of chemicals whatsoever. Thu is incredibly sweet and offered me coffee and water upon my arrival. This place is appointment only, so it's not overly crowded at all. Thu did a lovely job with my athletic toes (I'm so sorry lol) and Anna did my manicure beautifully. Sassy Nail will definitely be my go-to salon, and I've already recommended this place to my girl friends read more

TL;DR best, most relaxing nail salon. Call to book your appointment! I've never been into getting my nails done regularly. My experiences were always either pushy, rough, or just uncomfortable. Luckily I found Sassy Nails and I can actually relax and enjoy the entire experience. The nail techs are very professional, attentive, gentle, and have attention to detail. The location is central and parking is easy. I can make last minute appointments and I am often the only client there. But my favorite part is that they don't do acrylics or dip powder so there are no chemical smells requiring heaving ventilation. I only do regular polish and it lasts for weeks without chipping! The salon is clean, modern, relaxing and the massage chairs are really good. read more

I treated myself to some indulgence this weekend, as I usually do, and opted for a last-minute pedicure. Although I've visited Sassy Nails before, I was uncertain if they'd be able to accommodate me on a weekend. Thankfully, I was able to secure a timely appointment after reaching out to them. The staff is consistently welcoming and hospitable, greeting me with a smile and offering me a choice of coffee or tea upon arrival. This is my go to spot for a relaxing pedicure! They have a small parking lot so parking is never a headache. I always make an appointment and it always starts on time which I really appreciate. The salon is always so clean, and doesn't smell heavily of chemicals making the experience all the more relaxing. My gel pedicures always last forever here and they do a meticulous job at keeping my nails well done. Would recommend! read more

Great pedicure and reasonable prices for services. They have a vast variety of colors to choose from. After trying several different nail salons in the area, I can confidently say that Sassy Nail is my favorite! Both Thu and Anna are so sweet and I appreciate how they provide personalized attention to all of their customers, sanitize their equipment, and keep the salon smelling chemical-free. I have never had a bad experience ever since I started coming here last year and my gel manicures last for 3-4 weeks chip-free. Plus, their services are very reasonably priced and they have a great selection of colors. I got a last minute appointment here and had a lovely experience. Was lucky to get the owner of the place to do my nails because I could tell she has a keen attention to detail, prides herself on excellence, and is very proud of the work she does and the salon... and it shows. She took her time to do a very thorough job cleaning my cuticles and even helped me pick the right color based on my skin tone and season. I felt very much at home with her. Anna did my nails today at Sassy and was very fast and efficient and paid a lot of attention to the details. They removed my gels with using foil and it was quick! Anna also did a quick massage at the end with hot stones, which felt great! Salon is clean and friendly - will definitely be back! read more

I can't even explain how much I love Sassy Nail! I've been coming to this salon since 2014. I used to drive over the hill on highway 17 just to get here and it was always worth it. Not a single nail salon could compare in all of Santa Cruz/Watsonville with the quality and service at Sassy Nail. And trust me I've tried all of them and they'd always let me down whether it was the nail work or cleanliness issue. Fast forward after covid I moved back closer to San Jose. I had lots of girlfriends recommending different nail salons. I've tried several in different cities - Mountain View, Sunnyvale, San Jose. All were decent quality but their priority was to get acrylics ALL the time. I felt nearly bullied into getting acrylics at these salons, I'd have to repeatedly say no no acrylics! I couldn't understand why because I prefer my own natural nails and I don't want them to break and have to redo fake nails every 2-3 weeks like I've seen everyone else do. But that's something most nail salons don't like coz they want you to get acrylics all the time and it's annoying! It's way less work for them with acrylics. At Sassy nail, they focus on the health and beauty of your natural nails. They are exceptionally clean unlike most other places where I am terrified of how dirty it has been. I love getting the massage package with the paraffin, it is the most relaxing manicure and pedicure you can enjoy. They trim and shape your nails beautifully while removing extra dead skin and dry cuticles perfectly. Prices are reasonable unlike other places that charge $$$$. The owner is one of the kindest people I've met. Me and my mom came here and had our nails done years ago and she was so kind and caring. My mom actually has short brittle nails and I bet anyone would advise her nowadays to get fake nails as that's the easiest thing to do. But she got shellac with me and we were super happy with the results. The owner truly cares to take care of her customers and give them a great relaxing experience at her salon and wonderful healthy nails. This business has stayed true to their belief of prioritizing the customers well being and I am so happy they haven't budged down on their quality, service and kindness even through challenging covid period that destroyed so many business. This place is great! Only offers regular and gel polish. I loved how they took their time on my nails! There's no battery/ electric file machine to do a take off, so they don't even offer acrylic or dip powder. They do, offer take off for the dip powder I had on, and wow! I am sooo amazed at the results! They made sure the process didn't damage my nail bed, and were honest about the color so it would last longer! Thu (I think I spelled her name right?) was soo nice and made the experience so much better! Inside is very clean! The parking is a bit tight, but luckily I had no problem finding a spot! They charged me $43, and let me know take off is included, and they don't charge extra :) I will totally be back! read more

I usually wait to try a nail place atleast twice before deciding on whether I like it or not and I have been to Sassy Nail now three times because I don't think I want to go anywhere else. Customer Service: Thu is wonderful and welcoming every time I call or come in. She's someone who obviously cares about her customers and you can feel it when you meet her. Cleanliness: this is usually my priority for nail spots because some can get sketchy with hygiene. You can tell Sassy Nail takes precautions for hygiene very seriously. From their tools, to everyone wearing gloves/masks. Great! Quality: each time I've gotten a gel mani, they've lasted over a month with NO chips. I'm pretty rough on my nails (I.e dishwashing, cleaning) and am very satisfied with the quality of their work. Ambiance: last time I was here, someone was legit asleep in the chair next to me because it is so soothing. The music, lighting and ambiance that they've created is like no other and a perfect way to treat myself after a long week. read more

I really like how clean and spacious Sassy Nail is. Came in for a nice pedicure and left super satisfied. Staff are so friendly here. Bella did a great job at taking care of my toes and always made sure to ask if I was okay with the pressure during massage, temperatures of water/wax, etc. My only real problem is the parking-it is so tight and super duper limited. They suggest parking on the street if the lot is full but El Camino is so busy and can be hard to street park. read more

Sassy Nail is definitely one of the best nail salons I've been too. I called for an appointment and was able to schedule one right away. Anna did my gel removal on natural nails. She was kind and the procedure was quick and well done. I especially enjoyed how they used new sanitized tools, gloves, and a mask, and I saw they have seat covers for the pedicure chairs. I got lucky, (when I say lucky, I mean LUCKY), that I got a walk-in because they are very appointment only! They took me in with warmth, friendliness, and great hospitality offering tea, coffee, or water! I had the pleasure of having Ana working on my nails and she is very careful with her craft. She would check in here and there making sure I was comfortable and liked what she was doing. All of the clients seem to be regulars as the staff know all of them by name just by seeing their face which made me confident in my visit! I opted for the French Gel Manicure + design which came out to be $57 (+ tip $72). A little bit more expensive but worth it for the quality of work! I'll definitely be visiting back! Service: I got a pedicure with regular polish and my feet have never been softer! Everything was thoroughly cleaned and I love how my nails turned out. Vibes: Amazing!' I got mani pedi done. Super unhappy with the service my nail paint started chipping off in just 2 hrs. The person who did my mani was in so much rush she finished my mani in 8 mins. When I called they said they wont charge me for gel paint removal but they did charge me saying they charged me just half. Will never recommend to any one read more

Fantastic staff and very relaxing! Sassy nails is appointment only. So call before you show up. The salon is very clean and well kept. Their services are done well and their team is very friendly. The owner is seriously so nice! She remembers so many people and offers you coffee or water right when you come in. Seriously guys... Sassy Nails is the BEST nail salon!! I just love how organized, clean and welcoming Thu and staff are. So patient especially when I can't make up my mind about color. Every time I come I know I'm going to be taken care of and it's probably one of the first times I actually like the massage chair. I also notice the little details like the way that the nail colors are organized-- both on the wall and the nail color trays you normally see gel nail colors on. Thu, thank you so much. Almost all of my nails peeled after a little over a week!! I feel robbed and I won't come back for sure! Also pedicures are way overpriced. Only positive is the owner is nice and their Vietnamese coffee. Overall. I won't recommend this store unless you don't mind spending close to $100 in coffee. read more

The nail polish used was so old that it wasn't dry after more than three hours. Any basic task started leaving dents even after waiting hours for it to dry. You need to replace your nail polishes. read more

Wow! Just came in with my boyfriend for our first pedicures here and we will definitely return. The salon vibe is very relaxing and such a cute little space. The ladies working were all incredibly friendly and hospitable. Its very clean and they are practicing great covid protocols from what I can see. Not too good and not too bad for the price! Perfectly average place! They don't have separation between pedicure chairs for social distancing, but all of their staff is fully vaccinated. You have to be patient in dealing with some of the staff members since English might not be their first language. read more

Accommodated same day appointment and both the ladies did a good job with the manicure and pedicure. Overall it did feel like i was rushed through the whole thing which isn't necessarily a positive for nail 'SPA' (at least not for me!) I would still recommend going here as the girls working on my nails did a great job. If you are looking for a quick yet nice nail place, this would be the right spot. read more

I used to feel pampered at this place, but the 2nd to the last time, she complained about my curling geriatric toenails and the last time, didn't put full effort into the small details. Couldn't trim all the toenails so the lengths matched? Minimal trimming of calluses around toe tips? I'm disappointed. read more

I actually don't mind a shorter massage, so that wasn't my main concern. What bothered me was the quality of the service. He applied only one coat of polish--no base coat and no top coat--and then immediately moved on to the next customer. Once my nails were dry, they told me I was ready to leave and charged me full price for what felt like a rushed, incomplete pedicure. I paid full price, but definitely did not receive a full service. She genuinely made me feel welcomed, and that meant a lot to me. And on top of that, she does such an amazing job on my nails! They always look so good and somehow last me forever. I requested: * #108 Gelixir purple gel polish + acrylic fill manicure * #108 Gelixir purple regular polish + basic pedicure The owner upsold heavily throughout. I even let her do extra work on my pinkies to build rapport. Total: $81 Tip: $15 (tipped before the service was completed) She opened the shop ~5 min late despite accepting my 9:30 AM appointment, & complained aloud, setting the tone for our session. *~~ Where Everything Went Wrong 1. First Mistake Toe spacers were applied after polishing but before the paint was dry, immediately smudging the big toe. 2. Second Attempt They only partially removed the polish to "fix" it. Because the initial coats weren't fully removed, the application was thick and uneven. After 40 minutes of "drying," the nail dented and the texture caught the lip of my shoe, scratching again. I told them I still had time if they wanted to properly redo it. 3. Third Attempt A kind staff member accidentally damaged the other big toe while helping me into disposable sandals. At this point, my toes had been ruined three separate times--all due to staff actions. *~~ The Owner's Response When I asked if they could use gel on the big toes (since the mistakes were theirs), the owner refused and claimed: 1. The colors "wouldn't match." 2. Gel and regular polish can't match--despite the Gelixir palette offering both and my manicure proving otherwise. 3. That because I chose regular polish, the outcome was my fault. She repeated this many times. 4. That regular polish takes "hours to dry in cold weather," something she never mentioned and is simply not true. By then I had been there from 9:30 AM to 12:20 PM, and the pedicure was the first service we started. *~~ Escalation & Unprofessional Conduct When I calmly asked for a reasonable fix (or at least accountability for my time), the owner became rude, defensive, and dismissive. She offered: * No refund * No partial refund * No refund of my tip * No solution She repeatedly told me I could "leave if I didn't like it" while her staff was trying to help me with bare toes. Instead of accountability, she lectured me with constant "you" statements and kept shifting blame. I stayed polite and attempted to de-escalate, but she kept escalating. My friend who was with me also felt the owner was short, judgmental, and rude from the beginning. As a Filipina, I'm familiar with cultural bluntness--this wasn't bluntness. This was aggressiveness and unprofessionalism. *~~ Service Quality & Safety Concerns * They used a pumice scrubber on my inner ankle bone, leaving raw skin and micro-cuts. * The owner drilled harshly on the sides and cuticle area during my fill, causing irritation and cuts. When I said "ow," she told me I "needed lotion." (I regularly moisturize; the issue was her technique.) * During upselling for designs/gems, she asked about two fingers. When I agreed, she worked on the wrong fingers, insisted I said "all," and did the same thing to my friend. * Despite her picking my friend's shade, she acted annoyed when we asked to see it on one toe. Odd behavior throughout--there's truly no winning with her. *~~ Final Thoughts Based on quality alone, this could have been a 2-star experience. But the owner's behavior makes it a 0-star experience. Earlier, she told me her business struggles with retention but has some regulars. Now I understand why. The recurring reviews about poor customer service suddenly make complete sense. Even her responses to negative reviews show the same pattern--confrontational, defensive, and unwilling to take responsibility. It's impossible to relax when the owner is hostile, unaccountable, and provides no customer care. This was my first time going (only to accommodate my friend's work schedule) because in theory the 9:30 AM start time is competitive. But honestly, you're better off walking one minute over to Winchester Nails, which is actually my regular spot. I'll never cheat on them again.
