Cute and affordable neighborhood nail salon. I stopped by during my lunch break for a mani pedi and Kayla was quick to get started! PROS: + Kayla is super friendly and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. + Great job with the gel manicure, I was really happy with how my nails turned out. + efficient timing! She was able to get both my mani and pedi done by herself in 1 hour! Unheard of at other salons!!! CONS: - pedi was a bit simple, maybe due to my limited time frame! But it got the job done! - limited colors Overall, a great salon and I will def come back for a mani! read more

Kayla Nails is, sadly an unethical business that I will strongly caution anyone from trusting. Here is why - one of my friends had gone to get some nail work done at a business called KaylaS Nail Care, also in Cupertino - https://goo.gl/maps/RgApp3UyiMi8V6bQ7 She needed me to Venmo money to them to pay for their service. I had no idea where the nail salon was, other than that it was close to home in Cupertino, CA. While using Venmo, as I typed K-a-y-l..., the app suggested Kayla Naills in Stevens Creek Blvd. I thought this must be it and went ahead and paid $98. Soon, I got a call from my friend saying that the salon has not received anything. I then realized my mistake and paid KaylaS Nails. Since then I have tried THRICE to message Kayla Nails to repay me. They have not even bothered to acknoweldge my message. In my third message I had indicated that if I do not hear back, I'll have no choice but to post a negative review on Google and Yelp. Still absolutely no action. So here is the review. read more

Love love love this place. My girlfriend likes to come here for waxing. She does the best pedicure massage after the pedicure. Definitely send all of my friends and family here when I come here it feels like I am coming into a very peaceful environment. She seems to love her job and her customers. read more

Came here with my daughter this week. We have been here before but honestly I could not remember their pedicure pricing and didn't recall it being that expensive. There are no prices posted here so ask for the price before you get any work done, the pedicure with hot stone massage was $30!! The lady who did my pedicure "Rona" was very pleasant, patient and knew what she was doing and did a good job on my toes. It has been a few days since I had them done and my toes still look very good. Must admit I liked her work, but will ask if they have a cheaper pedicure next time I stop by. read more

I don't know who rated you so high but I am extremely disappointed. All I asked is to have shorter nails as I had them done recently. First tried to talk me into shellac. I came to do pedicure and shorter nails came out with no pedicure and disgusting nails. And removed the polish on the spot. Just wow. Next time be in time for work. And if you can't do the job you are in to do, pass it on!! read more

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS OVER. If I just drove by this place, I don't think I would have gone inside if I didn't read all the wonderful reviews on Yelp. Don't let it's exterior fool you, this place is the BEST Nail Salon place I have EVER BEEN TOO!!! My girlfriend and I got manicures done and we are both very satisfied. They are very clean, friendly and detail oriented. I had Kathy who is a sweetheart! She took her time cleaning up my cuticles. And let me tell you, she CLEANED them up like no one has before! She also gave me the most AMAZING hand massage I've ever received in a manicure session. The best part of it all is that it costed ONLY $10.00!!! WHAAAAAAAAAAAT! Because of the amazing service she provided, I gave her $20.00. I tip high if job is well done and it was WELL DONE for sheez! I am DEFINITELY going back to get a pedicure and will update my review then. Thank you Yelp for helping me find this salon near my new neighborhood! read more

So I took a chance on this place based on the reviews and because its a convenient location for me. It was easy to get in for a shellac mani and pedi on a weekend evening. First impression: other than being a little run down the ladies seemed nice enough and I was willing to overlook the heat. Their color selection was minimal but I found a pretty turquoise for my toes. The pedicure was well worth 18 bucks so I would return for that service. I have had better, iit wasn't super relaxing. The shellac manicure was so horrible it was almost funny. Kathy (the owner?) did one hand and the person who did my manicure did the other. I tried to tell Kathy that she was burning my hand in the UV nail dryer but she just kept laughing even though it really did hurt! She wasn't paying attention to the timer at all and was doing someone else's nails at the same time. The other woman did the timer correctly and it was not painful on the other hand. The color selection for shellac again was depressing and it was poorly done. The edges of the shellac were rough, stuck to my fingers, and the color was uneven. i'll let you be the judge. (the picture was taking a few days after I got the manicure and its supposed to last and look perfect for a few weeks at least!) DO NOT GET SHELLAC here! They just don't know how to do it. Also, I tried to go back today (1 week later) to see if they would take it off for me and just give me a regular manicure. I told them I didn't like how they looked but they tried to blame it on my nails growing out. Kathy mumbled something and they didn't seem to care that I was unhappy and didn't offer me anything. My nails were tended to very nicely. I had specific instructions for them in term of the flower design I wanted and they took care in drawing them. It was $10 for regular manicure and $5 for the flower design. It was not crowded on the day I went- Saturday at 3pm. Actually, no one was there. So I could take my time picking out my color and had their full attention on me and my nails. I would definitely go again. The nails lasted for 3 weeks before I had to get it done again read more

I love this place!!!! We made two last minute appointments this morning and we were able to head right over. Everything is immaculate and cheerful. Kathy and Kim were very gentle and did an excellent job. The message was so relaxing, I started to drift off. I plan to make this a regular pedicure place. My nails are stunning!! Kayla is so sweet, she will sit on the floor in order to accommodate my grandmother. She is also skilled medically in that she has fixed ingrown toenails multiple times and is very sensitive and gentle for older women. My boyfriend has been here with me multiple times and enjoys it; in fact I have seen several men go here. Despite the fact that they are not open Monday's, this is the perfect place! read more

They got all up in my toe nails...love that! They are NOT shy when it comes to making sure your feet are sandal ready, and they remember their repeat customers. AWESOME! I choose to come here over the nail place that's 2 minutes away from my house bc they are consistently better than most cheap Asian places. read more

I came in having a few ppl recommend it. I had a pic of the design I wanted w a different shape request. All o had to do was show the pic and he did the design and shape w/out any questions needed. 1st time I have to say I've never been questioned having matte finish! Which to me was the best part! They did awesome! I would say the only thing was I didn't feel completely welcome it could have just been that it was super quiet and other nail techs were stopping and staring w/out talking to me I don't know also could be I'm used to other places that know me. That's also me being nit picky! I will def go again! read more

Words can't explain how bad I want this place to close down look at this mess told the lady to please straighten up nail that it looked crocked the color was circling looked old and wouldn't go on smooth she got mad cause I wanted to change color kept grabbing and tossingg my hand in tantrum so hard. I Kept telling her my coffin nail was crocked handed me the file and told me do it yourself that she saw it straight. I am so pissed I even had to pay for this shit of a job. The ladies that work here are very nice . That being said The quality of the gel manicure just disappoints . Had it done Saturday and Saturday afternoon noticed all the streaks and bubbles in the polish . (See photos ) Today is Wednesday and I have chips and peeling . Generally gel manicures last me two weeks minimum and they don't chip they usually just grow out . I have a wedding to go to and sad that I now have to pay to get them done again in the same week . THANK YOU YELPERS! For helping me find my new favorite nail salon! I was in the area and did a quick yelp search for high rated nail salons that were near by and Kayla's nails popped up. I get my nails done pretty frequently... So I have pretty high standard expectations on what I want and how I want it. Price is important especially because I find myself getting a mani & pedi every 10 days or so and finding a good place that does it for under $30 is amazing! I love Kayla's nails for more than just the good price. The staff are so friendly and conversational. They were extremely accommodating and did an amazing job on my friend and I. They exceeded my expectations for a cheap mani/pedi- good massages on hands and feet, hot stone massage, and good massage chairs! lovelovelove! read more

I'm really disappointed with my visit to Kayla Nails. I was excited to see that this location is right down the street from my office, and had great reviews. I went by there after work yesterday to get my nails done for my birthday party this weekend, and I had a pretty awful experience. I arrived at about 5:15 pm without an appointment for a pedicure and gel manicure. There were 3 nail techs working, and there was only one customer in the entire place. After waiting about 10 minutes, I was told to sit in the pedicure chair and wait for the tech. I even heard one of the techs comment "ugh, I just want to go home!" when I sat down, which is ridiculous considering they were open for another 2 hours. It's not like I walked in at 645, but I digress... I sat in the pedicure chair for 20+ minutes until one of the techs finally gave me a time frame (5 mins). The worst part was the water was cold, so I sat with my feet in cold water for almost 30 mins. By this point, I would have left, but it was already almost 6pm and I wouldn't make it to my normal salon in Willow Glen in time because of traffic. So I had no choice but to wait. Finally, a lady began my pedicure. Incidentally, it was the same lady who made the comment about wanting to go home. She was nice enough, I guess. I told her I wanted hot pink nails, and showed her the color of gel I had chosen. I asked her to help me find a polish for my toes that matched. She rushed through my pedicure, and one of my toes is sore today because of it. I honestly could have done a better filing and paint job myself, as everything is uneven. At least I like the polish. Finally, we began my manicure. I asked her if she needed me to show her which color I wanted again (because by that point, it had been at least 20 minutes since she had looked at the swatch), and she said "no I know which one it is". As she was painting my nails, I tried to check the color a few times, but every time I did, she would snap at me about putting my hands under the drying light. Once again, she rushed through the manicure. I asked her probably 2 or 3 times to fix nails that were uneven and jagged. When we were finished and she finally let me look at my nails, they were straight up RED. Nowhere CLOSE to the color I picked out, and nowhere close to matching the color on my toes! I was so unhappy, but since I had been there for almost TWO HOURS, they were closing. I told her that I would be coming back for a color change the next day, and she laughed awkwardly and then looked annoyed. So I guess I WON'T be going back. I have never in my life been at a nail salon for 2 hours, nor waited 45 mins, nor had the nail tech refuse to work with me on the color I wanted. And these were my birthday nails! Back to my regular salon in Willow Glen today to get it fixed (and spend more time and money that I shouldn't have to spend!) Needless to say, I don't recommend this place and I will never be going back. It's so disappointing, considering their great reviews and the convenient location. I gave 2 stars based on reasonable pricing and hot stone massage that comes with the pedicure, but those are about their only strengths. read more

Went here the other day for a pedicure. Only $18!! Woohoo!! And they're not 100% perfect but pretty damn good for that price. All of the ladies were super nice - no glaring at all when I was there. They have the big massage-y chairs and that $18 pedi comes with the hot stone foot rub and when I was there, shirtless Ben Affleck in the movie Armageddon...if that's your thing =) Bottom line, this place is clean, friendly, takes credit card and inexpensive!! I'll be back for sure. read more

Came here yesterday for a mani and pedi with my friend. We both were getting our pedicures done and they were so bad we didn't even let them do our nails. The owner was very nice and her son was adorable but the pedi was so bad and my friends lady didn't even seem to have a cosmetology license. She had uneven paint and paint all over her skin. Mine was also uneven and even had gashes like I kicked something. So we decided to leave and she charges is $35 for this.... read more

Clean, friendly and cheap. Great hand drawn nail artwork. They dont speak a ton of English. But I dont go to the nail salon for gossip or conversation. If you want an $18 well done spa pedicure with an extra long leg and foot massage and they dont try to upsell you on everything, come here! My friends and I walked in hoping for mani/pedi's. We walked in, told the lady what we were there for and she huffed at us like we were an inconvenience. She then told us there was no room and to come back 3 hours later. I would understand coming back if they had been busy and they weren't. There were only 2 other people in there. I had HORRID feet, all cracked and with crooked and misshapen nail. Kathy did an amazing job putting them back together so they look liked they belonged to a human rather than a cavewoman!! For $18 you CANNOT beat it. Will be back!!! read more

My boyfriend and I were getting our car serviced at Pep Boys and so to make the time pass a little faster we walked around the area. Needing a manicure I decided to Yelp nail salons around. I'm sooooo happy Kayla's popped up! When we got there we were instantly acknowledged and asked what we wanted to do. I got a gel set and my boyfriend got a mani/pedi. The ladies were very sweet. I didn't catch my nail techs name but she was very easy to talk to and once I got into the movie they were playing she held off the conversation. Which was a nice touch because sometimes the nail techs would just talk and talk and talk no matter what. I really appreciated that. She did a great job on my gel set! She was very soft with my hands and never pulled or grabbed my hands (like other salons I've been to). My boyfriends tech did a great job too. He seemed pretty happy with his service. So all around I give this place 5 stars! I will definitely be coming back! read more

I live super close to Kayla Nails, so thought I would swing in and check them out. The decor is a little run down, but honestly, it gives the place character. Manicures are only $10 and Kim did SUCH an amazing job on my nails - she seriously spent 20+ min just on my cuticles. She was so adorable to talk to and I had a smile on my face the entire time. If you really want to spice up the entertainment, swing by the liquor store that's 3 doors down and get a mini bottle of vodka before you head in. Might help you relax and not be so stressed out about being in an environment where there's a huge language barrier* ;) Make it fun instead of stressful! It's been a couple weeks since I had my manicure done and my nails still look flawless - very impressed!! This is my new favorite salon! *While I was getting my nails done, there was another woman in there that seemed super annoyed due to their accents/language barrier. Get over it, lady!! Embrace diversity and just go with the flow! :) Plus, it's a TEN DOLLAR MANICURE for christ's sakes. If you don't like the results, then take your ten bucks to another salon to get one nail done for that price instead. read more

$45 for a gel mani and regular pedi. Pros: good locale, lots of parking, quick. Cons: needs to update nail polish selection, pedi massage was quick. The decor is unusual in that I feel like I stepped into 1987. To top this off, disco music videos were playing on the tv-fitting with the neon lights inside. It's not terribly bad, this is my 4th time coming here and while it isn't my regular spot, it is my back up nail salon and they have also been kind. My polish comes out nice as well as the shaping of my nails. I'd say if your looking for all the perks that come with a mani/pedi, this may not be the spot however, if you're in need of a fast last minute mani/pedi that won't drain your wallet then come here. read more

Definitely getting what you pay for. $20 quality all around. Not very many colors to choose from and the atmosphere is very hole in the wall. The callous treatment did work well and Lisa was very nice and sweet. Massage was not really massage at all. Asked to get my nails filed because I'm terrible at it and that was a joke, luckily she didn't charge me for it. Don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Came here on a Saturday with my friend to get a basic manicure. Hole in the wall type place, which are hit and miss sometimes. But this place was def a great spot to return to. New to living in Santa Clara area, and don't get my nails done too often, I went to Yelp to find a good nail place to try out near by and Kayla Nails had the best reviews and was close to where I live. We made an appointment and showed up a bit late, which was fine. We were the only people in there, and the ladies had us pick out a color and then sit down. One of the best manicures I've had in a long time. Ladies were super sweet, and ego boosting by telling us how beautiful we were, we were loving every second of it. $10 for a basic manicure was a solid deal. Left happy and satisfied with our nails. Will return to try out their pedicure, and will definitely get another manicure soon! read more

I give Kim 5 stars for being VERY sweet and working on her birthday. She is truly too good for this place. The other lady when I called and asked specifically of they do designs told me yes they did. Then when I got there she told me to pick a design and I did. So I picked black for my base color because I wanted a white design. Then she came over to do the design and sloppily drew a flower. Then asked how it looked I honestly told her it didn't look like a flower so she got mad, started speaking in her language and took it off. I wouldn't have gotten black if I'd known they couldn't so designs. DO NOT come here for designs! read more

No refund, no solution, and deeply unprofessional behavior. *~~ Service Overview & Pricing I booked a same-day appointment that the owner accepted. I requested: * #108 Gelixir purple gel polish + acrylic fill manicure * #108 Gelixir purple regular polish + basic pedicure The owner upsold heavily throughout. I even let her do extra work on my pinkies to build rapport. Total: $81 Tip: $15 (tipped before the service was completed) She opened the shop ~5 min late despite accepting my 9:30 AM appointment, & complained aloud, setting the tone for our session. *~~ Where Everything Went Wrong 1. First Mistake Toe spacers were applied after polishing but before the paint was dry, immediately smudging the big toe. 2. Second Attempt They only partially removed the polish to "fix" it. Because the initial coats weren't fully removed, the application was thick and uneven. After 40 minutes of "drying," the nail dented and the texture caught the lip of my shoe, scratching again. I told them I still had time if they wanted to properly redo it. 3. Third Attempt A kind staff member accidentally damaged the other big toe while helping me into disposable sandals. At this point, my toes had been ruined three separate times--all due to staff actions. *~~ The Owner's Response When I asked if they could use gel on the big toes (since the mistakes were theirs), the owner refused and claimed: 1. The colors "wouldn't match." 2. Gel and regular polish can't match--despite the Gelixir palette offering both and my manicure proving otherwise. 3. That because I chose regular polish, the outcome was my fault. She repeated this many times. 4. That regular polish takes "hours to dry in cold weather," something she never mentioned and is simply not true. By then I had been there from 9:30 AM to 12:20 PM, and the pedicure was the first service we started. *~~ Escalation & Unprofessional Conduct When I calmly asked for a reasonable fix (or at least accountability for my time), the owner became rude, defensive, and dismissive. She offered: * No refund * No partial refund * No refund of my tip * No solution She repeatedly told me I could "leave if I didn't like it" while her staff was trying to help me with bare toes. Instead of accountability, she lectured me with constant "you" statements and kept shifting blame. I stayed polite and attempted to de-escalate, but she kept escalating. My friend who was with me also felt the owner was short, judgmental, and rude from the beginning. As a Filipina, I'm familiar with cultural bluntness--this wasn't bluntness. This was aggressiveness and unprofessionalism. *~~ Service Quality & Safety Concerns * They used a pumice scrubber on my inner ankle bone, leaving raw skin and micro-cuts. * The owner drilled harshly on the sides and cuticle area during my fill, causing irritation and cuts. When I said "ow," she told me I "needed lotion." (I regularly moisturize; the issue was her technique.) * During upselling for designs/gems, she asked about two fingers. When I agreed, she worked on the wrong fingers, insisted I said "all," and did the same thing to my friend. * Despite her picking my friend's shade, she acted annoyed when we asked to see it on one toe. Odd behavior throughout--there's truly no winning with her. *~~ Final Thoughts Based on quality alone, this could have been a 2-star experience. But the owner's behavior makes it a 0-star experience. Earlier, she told me her business struggles with retention but has some regulars. Now I understand why. The recurring reviews about poor customer service suddenly make complete sense. Even her responses to negative reviews show the same pattern--confrontational, defensive, and unwilling to take responsibility. It's impossible to relax when the owner is hostile, unaccountable, and provides no customer care. This was my first time going (only to accommodate my friend's work schedule) because in theory the 9:30 AM start time is competitive. But honestly, you're better off walking one minute over to Winchester Nails, which is actually my regular spot. I'll never cheat on them again.

Overall it looks very cool and I catch myself admiring my nails in the light which I don't normally do or get into (I get a manicure only a few times a year for special occasions). I'll also add they gave me a bottled water when I came in and even gave me a nice quality mask when I asked for one. I am immunocompromised and there was a lot of sanding going on at the next station so I felt taken care of as best as they could.

One of my toe gels totally came off after a day, and my left thumb polish came off the same afternoon that I had the mani done. Since then, I had the gel on my left hand fixed (so I came back once on Wednesday, then Thursday (yesterday) two nails on the right hand both separated in the same corner. I just had those two nails re-done and asked for the right color, but it's a different color. It's just really strange and disappointing to have to get a mani fixed twice- seems like the prep wasn't great this time around and last time around. I'll be back one more time after this but it may be time for me to find a new salon.
