I've been coming to Q Nails for 5+ years now and it's truly one of my go to spots in San Jose. Kim is absolutely amazing and her attention to detail and consistency always impress me. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and always welcoming. I usually get acrylics or Gel-X, and they always turn out beautifully. I tend to stick with neutral colors, but whenever I want to try something a little bolder, Kim is always able to bring my ideas to life. I also really appreciate how flexible and accommodating they are with scheduling. The store also has waxing available and has a bathroom. There's always plenty of parking in the plaza and they accept both cash and card (with an available ATM in case). they're so rude!!!! the whole experience was not relaxing, there's a little dog that barks at you the entire time, they don't offer you a menu or anything The lady charged me an extra $15 dollars for who knows what and when i asked questions about it she got an attitude and told me i should have read the prices at the front of the store before doing services. the whole experience was TERRIBLE plus it smelt bad in there. I had been coming to Q nails since 2022, and while they still don't remember me by name or face, they've always been efficient and smiling. But this week the nail tech played in my face and attempted to upcharge me multiple times! I came in for an acrylic fill $38 which was relayed to me by the man on the phone and normally I'm too shy to speak up, but when i told her my appointment she quoted it as $40! I quickly told her he *pointed to man* said $38. Then when it came to repairing one nail ($5 dollars per nail) she began pulling my acrylics OFF my intact nail bed which several times I said OW and to stop. She tried to say I took to long pointing to the actual bad nail. I said, I was here 2 weeks ago and it was my first fill in the set and it already popped off. When I asked THAT nail tech whether to replace the whole nail or not she super glued it and said it would be fine. Then to be told by THIS tech it's my fault I waited too long and it was water damaged (yall it turned green and I've never encountered that before), and proceeded to make her points without understanding she's trying to upcharge for an addition 2 going on 3 more nails she was attempting to rip off. I was appalled. She tried to say she'd only charge for 2 nails. And proceeded to talk to other staff in her language which is normally fine but she was looking at me and laughing at me as she did so. Come on yall. I was getting annoyed. I was being silent most of the time she filed me rough and left the nails thick (see attached photo) when normally my nails look like the video I posted. It's just sad she tried playing it off in the end saying "do you like it? It's beautiful right?" Like no Sis. She ended up still charging for the 2 nails and I left a $5 tip for her and her boss to split because I was on the verge of tears. read more

My Gel fill was already a few weeks old because of the relocation...I looked up "10 Best nail Salons in San Jose in my area and "Q Nails" was the closest one the list. I almost do not want to give this place 5-stars and I tell you about how great it is here-- because I don't want this place to keep getting crowded. But this is absolutely the only place now that I enjoy getting my nails done. The only time I ever go anywhere else, is if I'm out of town. This place is amazing! They really do a lot! It's really a full service pampering! They do mint sugar crystal looking things, lotion, oil, hot stones, and a hot towel with a stretching massage and a massage with all the other stuff they used. I wasn't expecting this at all!!! The person that did my pedicure was a man named Dat. He did an excellent job with all the pampering, but he seemed a little shaky with the polishing. It wasn't bad though! I'll have to see if the polish color lasts. I was there for about an hour getting all this done. The price was $25, but it felt like he went above and beyond, so I tipped him $10. I'll probably be back to get another pedicure, but I'm not sure about manicures yet! I hope the services continue and I can keep going back! So far, I really like this place! read more

I found my new go-to nail salon!!! Pre-pandemic - I used to get my nails done religiously every 3-4 weeks. I took a long break once the pandemic hit and earlier this year decided to start getting them done again. I found Q Nails through Yelp and decided to give it a go since it's down the street from my office. I've had nothing but GREAT experiences. I typically come during my lunch hour early in the work week and I'm out within 1-1.5 hours for both my gel pedi AND gel mani. Amazing!!!!!!! I used to spend close to 3 hours in a salon, which I hated. I'm loving the quality and timeliness at Q Nails. Definitely recommend!! read more

This place over charges. Their job, isn't even all that. They charge like a high-end spa. Prices are never accurate. Please be aware. The place is dirty and always super HOT. Both women did an excellent job. My nails last for a month and I come back. Finding a nail shop that you are happy with is such a battle. Atmosphere is the usual nail place. Not much of a wait. I have never been so disappointed with a nail shop before. I came in on my lunch break from work just to fix one broken nail and to change the color of all my nails given that they probably wouldn't have the current color on my nails because I got them done at a different shop. They told my friend and I to wait which we did for 30 whole minutes. After the long wait, they sat me down first and told me to fix my broken nail and change the color it would be a whopping 29 dollars. Crazy right? I said that I didn't want to pay that and I ask how much it would be to just fix the nail and she said $6 ... $6 to fix one broken nail? Wow... I would have not minded paying for it if we didn't have to wait for SO long. There were two people that weren't doing anything just standing around and talking that could've helped us but didn't. Even if they couldn't help us they could've at least helped time go faster by taking to me. My friend got her nails done and it took a whopping 45 minutes, needles to say i was late for lunch and I still don't have my nails fixed... I'm pissed never going here again forsure. read more

Introduced my mom to this place and she's now a regular! they also do eyebrows awesomely and cheap, literally for $10. Super quick and they turn out beautiful, I swear I've gotten compliments! Way better than dishing out $20 for the brow bar in the mall like I used to. Also got my one and only set of acrylics here and they turned out so beautiful. I normally come in with an example photo of what I would like and Kim is always able to do what I ask. She listens to what you want and is very creative. She has a good eye for designing beautiful nails. I also come in for pedicures. Tina and Tao are my go to ladies. My pedicures are always so wonderful and so relaxed that I always doze off! Lol! So sorry I can't even give this place 1 star! It was the most disappointing experience of my pedicure history, and I'm well experienced in this department as I enjoy having my feet done and cared for along with the treatments n leg massage. Today I decided to try a new place as my regular salon was booked a few days out. So I Google a few places near me. Disregarding the handful of 1 star and bad reviews, I leaned more towards the good positive reviews and went here. I regret majorly disregarding the handful of bad reviews as they proved the positive ones to be bogus! The man that did my 60 minute disaster pedicure had no idea what he was doing, hurt me several times during this very slow painful pedicure some of my toes still hurt from too much skin removal. I expressed discomfort several times and got not one single apology. He lathered the bottom of my feet with some gel but immediately put my feet back in the soak tub which seemed very counter active to its purpose. Also from previous experience not the proper process. He lathered my lower legs and calves with what he called a mask n that was left on for the duration of that hour while he clipped n snipped painfully away. By the end of this disatrous experience, I was done! I asked to be cleaned off n dried up! Which he did, but then proceeded to try n oil my legs for the final touch which in a pleasant experience would end with a leg n calve massage, yet I was so disappointed with the service I opted to finish my experience without the massage. I made sure to vocalize my disappointment, in case my asking to be cleaned off n dried up n skipping the massage wasn't clear enough. Also said they would never have my business again! Paid and left! I'm not one to write reviews good or bad for any business I visit, but this experience made me feel like I needed to let all of u who do business by review know, this place was by far the most painful disappointing one ever! I went to this nail salon while visiting a friend up north and I have several comments. First off, all the nail polishes seemed to be old and had been sitting for a while (likely during Covid) and the selection wasn't the best. There was no ambiance here, not even music. It was very quiet and awkward. It seemed a bit dirty, holes in the walls/ceiling, barely any soap in the restroom. The callus removal was sub-par, they just use a pumice scrub, which is usually included in any spa pedicure I have had. I was not so sure that they properly sanitize their tools either. Lastly, the price seemed a bit steep for a basic pedicure at $30, and adding gel costs $14 more?! Overall, it seems this place needs a bit of a make-over or better management and a closer look at their business, because their likely losing a lot. read more

I had a really bad last experience here, which turned me off from ever coming here again. I do not recommend this place and i want to take back my last review. The girl that did the design on my nail (not Tina or Donna) was talking ill about me in Vietnamese. The girl doing my acrylic gel pedicure tried to ensure me that they were all just laughing because she said the word "purple" funny, but I'm not stupid. The girl that designed my nail wasn't even the one i requested for my appointment and she didn't even do the design i wanted with the colors i picked. When i said something, she started talking in another language and everyone laughed. Given the context of the situation and the way she gestured her hands in annoyance i knew she said something along the lines of "what does she want next, purple?!" If I'm paying for a service, I'm a regular customer to your business, and I tip 25% every time, I want satisfaction. I was incredibly offended and uncomfortable. I smiled, paid, still tipped 25%, and walked out with no intention of ever going back there again. The nails don't even last that long anyway and they charge you extra for everything because the girls work off of commission. I'm going back to my original favorite spot. read more

Great place for a cheap and clean pedicure and gel polish manicure. One of the best Vietnamese salons I have ever been to. Good service, walk ins are easy, less than 10 min wait, if not right away. Pedicures last more than a month, and gel polish lasts at least 3 weeks, or until you get sick of the color. Very addictive! This is by far my favorite in this area. And I DO speak Vietnamese fluently, they gossip like ANY women do, but generally not saying anything malicious or important. At the end of the day, its the quality of work they do, and the price they charge for it. If it bothers you THAT much you should go to a salon where everyone speaks fluent English. Where they will charge you 3 times the price for a less impressive nail design, and charge you extra for a hot stone massage, hot towel, and longer massage. And I agree, some nail techs are definitely better than others, just the luck of the draw. read more
