I'm dropping my review to 3 stars, as even though i really like Kim (does a great job). Apparently they are under new management.... all kinds of new tech that obviously the new owner thinks we should pay for. A regular french manicure (not gel) that used to cost $22 the last time i was there now costs $30.50, which included a $1.50 "service charge" (after i already tipped her $10... who gets this "service charge"???). Will most likely find a new regular spot. read more

I called to make just a pedicure apt for 7pm on a Friday ( they close at 730pm). When I got there they told me they could do my mani too. Awesome I was in bad shape. They worked on my hands and feet and got me out of there by 745 pm. Thou they were rushing a little bit, which I expected since I made such a late apt they still seemed to do a great job cutting and trimming my nails. The massage didn't feel rushed either. Overall I'm really happy I found this place and will go back. Oh on a side note ..... as I was leaving this mother and daughter came in wanting a mani/pedi gel. Was really nice they explained they were closed but would be more then happy to do one service for each and make an apt for the other in the morning. Went in for a dip polish manicure and regular pedicure. They set me up with a new nail tech (probably fresh out of school--untrained, older lady with glasses) that took two hours to do the pedicure. I needed to get gel polish removed and the acetone was set on my fingers for the entire two hours.... When it came time to do the dip polish service, the new nail tech, KNEW that she was under qualified for the dip service and asked another girl (who seemed to have authority because she was the only one answering phone calls and booking appointments--Spanish speaking) to do the service on me for her. The lady she had asked to do it said "no I have appointments, I cannot do it, someone else will have to and asked one of the guys there to do it instead" The guy decided he would do the dip polish for me. He started to get ready but I could tell he didn't want to do it, and I was embarrassed from being passed around between techs, so I told him it was ok to just remove the gel polish and that I would leave (I was nervous they weren't going to do a good job and I didn't want to pay for something that people have no respect or passion for the job to look good) I told him I didn't have time to repaint or to do the dip polish (as it was a 2 hour pedicure) The guy then passed me back to the original nail tech (new and inexperienced) to remove the remaining gel residue. He said that way they wouldn't charge me extra. Removal took 20 minutes and the same girl who was answering phone calls and making appointments interrupted and came up to the new girl and told her not to use the filing machine on my nails. (First time they corrected her) then she went on to say that she used to wrong tools for removing the previous gel color, and that she also shouldn't do that (second mention of how she did it wrong) Finally time to pay and the nails WERE NOT completely removed. I think the new girl felt bad and asked the rest of the nails techs if my removal was free or if it was $5. The lady who mentioned the things she was doing wrong in the service, and who also said she didn't have time to do my nails due to her upcoming appointment (which at this time approx. 30 min had passed since asked) said that my removal was $10. The two hour pedicure did not bother me, what bothered me was being charged $10 for a removal of something that was not removed. So just trying to get out of there, I left, and then returned within 3 minutes because to charge $10 for this (see attached picture) is a joke. The experienced tech (who said she had an appointment and wasn't able to do my nails) offered to fix them right then and there. At this point, I was actually running out of time (they should have removed them completely while I was still sitting in the chair prior to charging me for a half done service) and they should have offered to refund me. Any place shouldn't be charging people for services they do poorly, they should take pride in what they're doing, and they should train their staff accordingly, this is a business of customer service, and I won't be back because of the poor customer service. read more

I hadn't been to this place in many years & thought I'd give it a try again. I won't be back. The receptionist spent the entire time on her cell phone & looked like she was bothered each time someone came in or needed to check out. The only person she spoke to was one of the other nail techs. The person who did my nails didn't seem to know what he was doing. I wanted one nail polished a different color & instead of doing it with the others, he polished four, had me dry them (they were gel) & then did the last one. My wife Jennifer and I went for a mani/pedi on Tuesday as a couple. No wait and no fuss, we were seated immediately. Nail Tips now offers three types of pedicures. Varying in price for a basic service at $20, to an upgraded service at $27, or to an all out service at $33 - we went for the best. Extra attention to the nails and your feet, a sugar-type scrub and mini-massage, followed by a hot towel treatment. Manicure was pretty standard at $10. Being a guy, I don't need all the extras. Just cut, trim and shape the nails. No polish, no buffing. Nail Tips recently renovated and updated their equipment, chairs, tables, etc. An overall relaxing experience. /s/ William E. I went to do my nails here on a Saturday. French with black tips. After two days, the black tips were all chipped. I went in today and there was only one lady there, the owner, doing nails. Clearly they are short staffed. I told her I was just there a few days ago and showed her my nails. She quickly brushed me off & said she was busy & that I needed to come back later. I asked her what time she had open and she started turning the pages of her appointment book and again said "I'm too busy today. Too busy. I have 3 people ahead of you". SERIOUSLY? I'm bringing YOUR nail salon business and this is how you speak to your customer? Have some respect!!! She seemed to be in a bad mood and very overwhelmed. I just walked out and said I would go somewhere else. She didn't seem phased. This nail salon has now lost 3 clients as myself, my Mom and my Aunt all went here. Next time, think about how you speak to your clients. There is SO much competition in the nail business. I'm more than happy to take our business elsewhere. read more

The Nail Tech Johnny was recommended to me by a friend. So I gave them a call to book an appointment, who ever answered the call said he wasn't available and gave me his next availability on Thursday at 3:45. I live an hour north and made sure to work around my schedule and run my errands needed in the area to make it work. As soon as I arrive to the nail salon, Johnny said I am in the computer but under who ever is available and that he won't be able to take me for another 2 hours. The worst part is that he didn't even seem to care and told me to just go get a pedicure with some one else. Horrible customer service and horrible business. How unfortunate especially when some supposedly does good work. Guess I will never know but I don't like giving business to people that don't care. read more

Well where do I begin? I've been coming here alot and Johnny or Edwin usually do my nails. They do an excellent job! Many people have done my pedi too great job. Johnny ended up being off today and the place seemed so chaotic. Natalie ended up doing my nails. It was horrible!! She was rushing and I told her she's rushing and needs to slow down. She was doing my nails, answering the phone, taking phone appointments, getting up to take walk-ins. Two people waiting to get their nails done only two people who are apparently trained to do the type of nails all the customers were waiting for. I get the dip! Where they dip and acrylic color over your natural nail. I was dripping off my nails and my nails had valleys on them I said something to her all she kept saying is "no worries I fix"! She ended up having to take off the dip and re-wrapping my fingers. I told her again it's because you are rushing!! Natalie ended up redoing only the fingers that she felt were the worse and it looked like an amateur did my nails. Seriously, my kid could have done a better job. She filled all my nails crooked there was product all over my fingers it wasn't even, dark spots with too much product, light spots with not enough product. All of my nails are now crooked!! Perhaps if they trained their staff. All of them will be able to do nails and a variety of things aside from two people only doing nails and three other staff members just sitting around waiting for a pedicure. When I refused to pay for my nails Natalie began to argue with me infront of her staff and infront of other customers. I told her " I told you several times how you were rushing my nails to get to the next person and to slow down. You had to fix my nails already and they still look horrible". Edwin looked at my nails and said come back when Johnny is here so he can fit them. He talked to Natalie in there language and she stopped. Then she said as I was leaving "it's not fair you no pay, I told you I'll fix for you". I told her you already tried to fix them and failed, you also made them crooked. I'm seriously infuriated!! Overall I had a very positive experience at Nail Tips. The gentleman, Calvin, who did my pedicure talked to me a bit and made sure I was comfortable. I typically don't say something if I am uncomfortable, but he was friendly and made it easier. I have sensitive shins, so I a mentioned that and he accommodated during the leg massage. My feet needed a lot of scrubbing and polishing. He did a fantastic job there as well. The polish was great after he cleaned it up. The price is fair and the people are friendly. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I will come here again. read more

I have been coming to this salon for well over 15 years. I have seen it change hands of ownership and remained faithful to them because of the excellent customer service they provided. It just changed ownership three weeks ago and the service now is horrendous. I had an appointment and was actually turned away because the appointment before me was taking too long and I was told the new owner, who I had an appointment that i schefuled with him 3 weeks ago, didn't have time to do my nails. When I said I had an appointment, he sarcastically responded "so did she, it just took longer than I thought it would take." Since I was being turned away I said, "then I guess I'm going to have to find another salon." He, Johnny, shrugged his shoulders and said, "ok." Mind you, 3 weeks ago when I was here getting my nails done by the previous owner, Johnny was soliciting advice from me on how to increase business for the place which I was happy to share tips with him on. Obviously a lot has changed in the last 3 weeks because he no longer cares about retaining current business let alone establishing new clients. Very very very poor customer service. This place used to be packed with customers. I can bet you that in less than 6 months this place will be closed or sold to someone else. read more

Came in to a friendly clean atmosphere with a huge selection of colors and gel colors. Went in for a lip and eyebrow wax then decided i needed a pedicure desperately and then i found kim. She did an exceptional job on my eyebrows and i am beyond picky with how i want them done and she did a phenomenal job. Then we moved on to a pedicure and wow!!!! Talk about living in paradise! Her massage was perfect and much needed because im a server and always on my feet. I almost fell asleep! Her attention to detail is outstanding. WASTE OF MONEY! Spent $40 (incl tip) for a manicure and french pedicure which was done hastily in 35 minutes tops. Walked out feeling that I could have done a better job myself at home. Really disappointed - staff was extremely unprofessional and rushed. At $40 I know not to expect a spa-like experience, but this was just a huge waste of money. Nail tips are jagged, cuticles where barely touch (tons of dry skin left on the side of my nails) and the polish was uneven and dried with bubbles. WTF my 12 year old niece could do a better job than this. My advice is to stay away, but if the low price is too enticing, be sure to steer clear of the short, young asian dude - he does a pretty awful job. read more

I can honestly say that this salon isn't worth the money they charge for their services. I was quoted differently on the phone than in person. The staff looked uninterested in their jobs and more interested in their conversations with each other. They do not properly sanitize their tools as I saw them dip the cuticle remover in the already dirty water that had been circulating in the tub. What's the point of putting a plastic cover on the tubs if you aren't going to clean the tools before and after each customer. I usually get a gel mani and classic pedi for about $50 and they charged me $60 for dip with no mani and a classic pedi that was done so terrible the color came off before I made it to the parking lot. I was happy to be out of there that it didn't matter if they fix it. My toe nail broke and I asked her to even it out by shortening all the nails. She didn't do that, just painted over an already broken nail. I don't understand the point of paying for services where the results of you doing it at home come out better. One of the mind blowing things is that they charge if you ask them to file your nails a certain way. Filing is filing and should be included no matter how long or short you desire your nails to be. read more

I have tried so many nail salons and I was thrilled to find Nail Tip. I live farther west, and I drive the distance to get here. Tai, Jimmy, and Kim are the best! They take the time to make sure that your nails are perfect, but they get you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. My nails last the full two weeks, and everyone is so friendly and kind. I wish I could give fewer stars. Booked an appointment for two new customers two days in advance and confirmed in advance via text. Arrived a few moments prior to the scheduled time and was rudely greeted (using this term loosely) by a girl who was seated midpoint in the salon, yelling towards us, and preferred to text on her phone. As I stated, due to specific requests, we were booked for two tech at the recommendation of the salon employee who initially booked the appointment. For some strange reason, there was quite a bit of confusion, as to who we had, although once the appointment book was checked, it was noted who we had. Despite having an appointment, and acknowledging the same, the one tech who was there had just started a manicure. When the receptionist told Dani her 1120 appointment had arrived, she nonchalantly said "So, I'm with someone!". The receptionist again said "She has an appointment", only to be told again - "So, I'm with someone!!". The receptionist asked Dani how long before she would see her appointment, and the reply was "About 1/2 hour". They began to bicker back and forth, at which time we walked out. Extremely poor customer service. There are ways too many salon choices to put up with such poor attitudes towards customers! I would recommend going somewhere else - we did, right after that terrible experience- and found a great new salon only a few blocks away!!!! read more

I went to this salon for the first time this week. I was having gel polish removed and a new gel manicure. In the process of "roughing up" the surface of the nails to remove polish, the over zealous manicurist filed the skin off every finger at the cuticle. She kept telling me to relax my hand but that was impossible since my fingers were bleeding and it was painful. When she actually got to the nails, she left jagged edges and I had to tell her to keep filing until she had smoothed them. She didn't seem particularly concerned that she had hurt me but instead was talking to the manicurist next to her and another customer. Bad for business to leave your customers bleeding and disappointed with the entire experience. read more
