Never had been in here but passed it often. A neighbor had recommended how much she liked it, so gave it a try. When I say this is the cleanest nail place I have ever been in, that is not an exaggeration. Everyone was incredibly kind, and the service was great. Do not come here for dip. Came in here while in town for work, found it on Yelp. Signed in for a dip and pedicure and it took almost 3 hours (normal time is 1.5 hrs). They didn't have a lot of color options for dip but whatever, I picked my colors and sat in a pedi chair. Ended up soaking for like 30 min before the tech came to start working on my feet. So all in all it took an hour just to do my feet. I told the lady I had dip on my hands but she apparently didn't understand me, so they didn't even start to soak my nails to remove the dip til I was seated at a chair for my manicure where I sat for another 10+ minutes. It soaked for 15, and still didn't come off so they soaked it for another 15. Then they finally started to do my nails and it turned out ok but they didn't do a no chip top coat to cure it and only used regular topcoat so it came out uneven and bumpy. I didn't care bc it was almost 3 hours and I just wanted to get out. For ~$85 and three hours, I definitely expected more. So while the place is quiet and clean and the service was nice, I value my time too much. Note to salon: Offer a discount when you know you messed up. read more

This is my second visit. (They have the perfect neutral pale pink gel nail color #15 and I will travel for it!) I made an appointment but really didn't need too. There were only 3 people finishing up pedicures when I walked in. Was greeted by an elder gentleman and seated for my pedicure. The woman did a nice, thorough job(my feet are so soft!) I loved that they can match my toe polish. My first experience here was nice. It was the first nail salon I've been to where only women were working. A lot of time was spent on massaging my legs with tangerine sugar scrub. It felt great! the pros: pretty and relaxing atmosphere, ocean sounds and polish colors were organized (love that), prices were same as most places ($25) for pedicure the cons: My tek didn't speak any english to me, no fans for drying, chairs were not comfortable. Had to let polish dry what seemed like forever because they don't have fans or quick dry spray. No drink was offered although it comes with the services. These Ladys where allllllll up in my business. They actually ask my boyfriend and myself who had the better paying job. This embarrassing to my boyfriend, had his first dedi experience ruined. My first and only time I ever went here, I went with a friend in between our shifts at a restaurant nearby and the place only had one customer at the time, so when we get there, they ask the normal questions and have us sit down at the pedicure stations, BUT sitting literally on opposite ends of the salon, so we ask if we can be sat next to one another and they give us the FOULEST look on the matter and just ignored us. Then while we are waiting (probably over 10 minutes) a couple of girls walk in wanting to do the same thing we are and they get them sat next to each other and start working on their manis and pedis LIKE WE NEVER EVEN WALKED IN. I thought I liked this place but I have changed my mind. Everyone there is nice enough but I had a real problem when I wasn't able to put my tip on my CC. There is not one sign saying it is not allowed and on the receipt it gives you a space to enter the tip. I understand from an employee perspective that its better to get tips in cash. I totally get it, but at least put up a sign or don't give me an option to write a tip in on my receipt; most people don't carry cash anymore. So I had to leave the salon without tipping making me feel like a jerk. I ended up having to go out of my way to get cash and bring it back. Not fair to the customer at all. read more

I have gone to Nail Tek three different times, the first experience was not terrible, but it has gone down hill from there. The staff is not attentive, they do not speak to you and they are incredibly rough and quick. I have bled from this salon from their carelessness than any other nail salon I have been to. I even went back and showed them my infected cuticles from what they did and the woman put oil on my hand and said "all better." She did not apologize nor did she take me seriously. I mean my cuticles are infected because of this place....you'd think they would at least try and make the situation right. I have had a woman make my feet bleed because she was talking to her coworker and not paying attention..., not to mention wipe the nail brushes on the dirty foot towel before painting my toes.. it's disgusting. Never again, had to ask 3 times for technician to repair smudges, remove polish that got on skin and nails smudged due to old polish that she kept layering on. Then after pedicure was left sitting in the chair with no flip flops and after manicure had to get up and find my shoes and put them on all the while trying not to smudge nails or toes. I wish I could rate this racist place 0 stars! So I called ahead of time to see if they had a wait time or an opening for a pedicure. The guy on the phone told me no, but if I don't mind soaking for 10 minutes to come right away. I advised him before hand that I was 10 minutes away. He said okay. I get there, check in and sit down. No one greeted me, no asked what I was here to get serviced NOTHING. They just stared at me, as if I was lost. Was it my black skin, my nice/neat braids, the way I carried myself with such class and elegance as a BLACK woman? I guess so. Because a Caucasian lady walked in right after me, checked in, they ALL GREETED her immediately, and escorted her to the back where the pedicure chairs are. Mind you, it's a Sunday and they close at 6, it's almost 545 and they are STILL taking people. I'm 3 months PP & today was FINALLY a ME day. And this is the place I stumbled upon to get a damn pedicure so I can AT LEAST feel HALF WAY decent going back to work tomorrow. But this nail salon really pissed me off. I did not appreciate this treatment. People need to understand that NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE STEAL or are bad people. I make well enough money a year, own both my vehicles and home. Hell, I live around the corner literally 5 minutes from this place. I'm good, trust me. Stop judging a book by its cover. Went to the nail salon while visiting Charlotte. The lady that did my pedicure cut my toe with the "grader", still don't know why she was rubbing it on the side of my big toe. That was on April 28th, it's now May 14th and my toe is still not healed. I cannot wear any closed in shoes. which is not good because I have to wear closed in safety shoes when entering the warehouse where I work. This is convenient to my home and I usually don't have to wait, so I come here about once per month. It is all business here. No niceties from the staff or owners. I have never been offered something to drink, but I have once in a while seen others with a mini bottle of water or a glass of wine. I feel I am held hostage until someone decides to let me pay. The last time I even asked to pay when my service was complete, but was ignored. Maybe I didn't speak loudly enough. The staff will sometimes say "good-bye", but never "thank you". So - serviceable, but not a place to go if you want a little pampering. read more

Went a second time and did not have a great experience. Sat in a different seat and that seat didn't work as well. Had to tell the lady that my water was too hot and burning my feet, then it ended up being too cold. Customer next to me had to let them know that her water was close to over flowing. Received a drink, and after finishing it, noticed a bug in my glass. Pedicure turned out good, but manicure not so much. Pointed out that one of my nails had too much polish on it which caused a pretty large bubble. They fixed it, but that caused another nail to smudge that they tried to fix by rubbing a little bit of nail polish remover on it. It didn't work. I won't be going back. read more

First and last time here. I walked in with the simple request of a full set and toe polish, both using gel polish. The woman who ended up doing my nails sat and chatted with the other nail technicians for about three minutes before yelling at me what the price would be. I agreed with a sigh and was a little surprised when she sat me down in a regular chair - any other salon I have been to, if you're getting services done on both your nails and your toes, they'll sit you in the pedi chairs to quicken the process. She told what I wanted "wasn't possible" (shorter length stiletto nails) and when I explained to her that I had the exactly what I described before she kind of just blew me off and said she would see. She ended up going off chatting with the other nail techs once more, not paying any attention to what she was doing to my nails and ended up making me bleed on three separate fingers. At one point she actually stopped in the middle of what she was doing to get a gift certificate for another person who had walked in, despite another nail tech already helping him and all of the other nails being without a client almost the entire time I was there. I ended up with square shaped nails that were mediocre at best. Not to mention I almost walked out when I saw the state of the tools she was using, and their cleanliness. That should have been the biggest red flag. When she asked me about my toes/if I wanted the same color for them as well, I said I was only going to do my nails and only then did she offer to move me to a pedicure chair so they could do both at once. I guess they saw they were losing out on money potentially. Once I got to the pedicure chair and she started painting my nails - once AGAIN she focused more on the pictures the other tech was showing her and had to correct the polish. I was never offered any kind of drink, and had to ask more than once where the restroom was. You can guarantee I will never step foot in this place again. Staff was rude, tools were almost disgustingly dirty, and there was no care given into any of the services. Pleasant experience at Quail Corners after just moving to the area! Called at opening on Saturday morning and was able to go right in. Had a pedicure and gel manicure. I can tell you at only $55 for both gel mani / pedi this is a great price. They use a wonderful smelling tangerine scrub on feet and legs for the pedicure. They had a lot of colors to select from and I was able to get everything done in just over an hour. The gentleman that manages Nail Tek was friendly and I overheard him being very attentive to a senior lady who needed special assistance. Lee and Susan were the two ladies who did my services and they were thoughtful and careful. Yes, they are English second language and chatted with each other during my pedicure but this allowed me to relax and watch their TV. I prefer not having someone talk to me non -stop so I was happy! Tipping in cash is typical in a nail salon so I was prepared. They do have complimentary wine if you request a glass but didn't try at 9:30 AM :). Give them a try - the poor reviews were old ones and I can recommend them given my experience today. read more

Terrible experience. I walked in and asked for a polish change on my hands with just regular polish, not gel. They made me sit and wait for over 30 mins even though there were women who worked there not doing anything. Then they moved me to a mani station and made me wait another 10 mins. The women were very unfriendly. Finally, once a woman finally came to do my nails, she used the same tools on me that she used on another customer sitting in the station directly in front of me. I was desperately in a rush, especially after all this time waiting, and had to have my nails done for a performance in the next few hours so I refused to let her use the metal tools on me and only let her file and polish my nails. I asked for square shaped nails and i had to fix them afterwards since they were far from square. At the end when I tried to get up to go to the drying station she said I had to wait with the little fan at the mani station for 10 mins before I could go to the drying station that had absolutely no people there. Which is ridiculous in my experience. Finally, she said that my polish change was $8, I handed her a $10 bill and she didn't even ask if I wanted change. I was going to tip her anyway but I think it is courteous to always ask if a customer wants change instead of just assuming. Don't go here, there are so many better nail salons in Charlotte!!!! read more

I love this place! By far the best nail salon I've been to! The atmosphere was amazing! I was welcomed by some really nice employees and had a really good experience. Everyone was really friendly and nice. The mani and pedi i got was amazing. My nails looked great! Everyone has been complimenting how beautifully done my nails looked. The employee who was working on my nails took her time and didn't rush it. She asked politely what I would like and I showed her a pic of what I wanted. She did exactly as I showed her and it looked 100x better! The quality was great also:). My pedi was really relaxing also. There was a good variety of nail polishes to choose from and it was really organized. This is definitely my FAVORITE nail salon now and I will definitely return! I should have checked Yelp first, but was in the area so I stopped in to try it. Upon arriving the male manager didn't bother to take his eyes off the TV to yell "Help you?" in my direction. Then he took off to the back leaving me to guess if I was supposed to follow him. There were only 2 other customers in the place and it was the middle of the day, so it wasn't that they were too busy to communicate - they just chose not to. Once I was seated in the chair, I asked to turn the massage function on, the manager brusquely hit the vibrate button on the remote which was attached on the back of the chair out of reach. When I asked if I could hold the remote, he visibly showed his annoyance. The mani/pedi itself was lackluster. The technician went through the motions, but accomplished very little other that polishing both my nails and the skin around my nails. She was having a conversation with the other technician, and neither seemed concerned about the service they were selling/providing. During the 'massage', I had to remind her 3 times to please not rub the large bruise on my chin because she was too busy chatting to pay attention to giving a pedicure. I was deserted to let my polish dry, but I couldn't wait to get out of there. So I walked up front and the manager looked at me like 'what do you want?'. I told him I needed to pay, he laughed at me and loudly said "Yes!". As I took the cash from my wallet (didn't trust them with my card info) the nail tech reappeared and stood so closely that she was touching my arm and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I handed her a $5 tip (way more than deserved) hoping she would back off, but she just stood close looking at me as if pressuring me for more money. While this place did not do any bodily harm, I wonder if they put the same effort and ethic into cleaning that they put into the service they are selling. Never again! read more
